My favorite place to walk in town, it's peaceful watching people fish, load the ferry, exercise and enjoy some dining on the wharf. Although covid has changed some of the activities that go on there it's still a solid place to visit. read more

Coronavirus! (In my Cardi B voice) That one word paints the grim picture we've been faced with throughout the world. In spite of it all, I have managed to really enjoy and rediscover the beauty around us. A simple hike or walk at the Marina brings joy. There are several parking lots as well as a grass area for small party picnics ( I don't believe there are picnic tables in the area ). I have also seen people fishing along the path as well as riding bicycles, so there is ample space for all. There are some restaurants in the area with breathtaking sunset views ( when we get back to frequenting restaurants ), for now the eateries in the area are offering takeout from a limited menu. Nature is thriving, the air is cleaner, gorgeous flowers are in bloom, and the birds are singing louder. Enjoy this time outdoors while we have the time. read more

Kim the marina manager does an excellent job of taking care of the boats in her marina. Many of the tenants speak highly of her. She is very personable and it is very evident that she loves her job. All the tenants here are super friendly. It is a small community that watches over your boats and will give you boat advice if you ask for it. They will also give you help docking your boat. The views here especially during sunset are beautiful. The sky becomes a hue of pink and orange. If your walking, it's fun to sit under the tree or in your car and watch the sunset. Or if your lucky enough to have a boat here, sit on your deck and watch the sun go down. Funny story, if you take out your boat to test the engines, first of all make sure you take senior boaters with you and finally make sure you're stocked with beer. We had a small hiccup with our engine and had to quickly dock it. The senior boaters helped out to find out the issue. Thankfully, the engine issue was temporary fixed and we were able to move to our slip. During that time many tenants came by to see if we were ok. Many came to check on us and it quickly became a party. So make sure your fridge is stocked before you go out! read more

Located at the bank of the ferry terminal and close to: Vallejo Yatch club, Mare Island, a pub, and upscale restaurant. We enjoyed our stay here, again. You do have to remember two things. 1. The entrance is heavily silted, probably only a few feet at low tide, but that is the way of life--nothing like Martinez (almost impossible to enter at any tide) or even Benecia (where you have to wait for high tide). 2. The office is closed on the weekend, which is probably a first for any marina since it is of course the only busy day in most marinas. These points are outweighed by how easy it is to dock here. There is also a fuel dock, and the showers/head are clean. Also two nice restaurants and easy access to wine. Look forward to returning. read more

I've had my sailboat docked here for over a year and have been very satisfied with the facilities and the staff here. Kim is totally on top of things and has been very accommodating when ever I needed anything. The pricing is very reasonable and I never had an issue with theft or security. The marina is about 3 miles down through Mare Island Strait. It takes a little while to get to San Pablo Bay for great sailing, but the wind is always coming in at a 90 degree angle so you can sail in and out easily. This marina is always much warmer and calmer than Alameda or Point Richmond. read more

There needs to be some clarification on the 4 star rating of Vallejo marina. That rating is deceiving. The entire stretch along that stretch has the boat launch, the ferry building, the Vallejo yacht club and then the marina its self. The entire way is just how people have described it, a asphalt walking path with nice views of the water, boats etc... the actual marina it's self is another story. If you were looking into obtaining a slip for your boat and using the facilities that come with that I would recommend any other marina in the surrounding areas - Napa, Benicia, Martinez etc... The Vallejo marina staff, bathrooms, rules, docks and slips are all sub standard and unprofessional. I've witnessed people fall through the dock boards due to being old and weathered, the gas dock is rarely opened and unmanned. The showers are relatively clean but very very old. The laundry units are extremely expensive, most every car in the parking lot is there for the occupants to smoke marijuana and "hang out". The staff is not pleasant to deal with and there are so many rules it's almost impossible to not have to deal with them At some point. Use the walk way and admire the view but keep walking if you want to put your boat in a marina slip. read more

I was there in the early 2000's, it was just fine and dandy! I kept my 39' sailboat at the Vallejo marina in 2002&3. I had no problems with any aspect of this marina. At first, I was worried about my nice Audi being parked there at night, but I never has a single issue -- although there was evidence of some serious oh, how do you say, 'partying' going on in the parking lot, some nights. When I was there, there were two very good restaurants within walking distance, and a boatyard. The location offers excellent access to the Sacramento river/delta destinations, as well as the greater SF bay. It's sort of a nice little quite nook harbor, situated between two popular boating areas. A beautiful 18 hole golf course was in operation at the former (and historical) Mare Island navel facility - which is directly across the estuary from the Vallejo marina. The Napa river tidal basin drains right through the estuary, and boaters can find some very peaceful anchorages and some decent stripper fishing, just about 2 short miles from the marina entrance. You can navigate all the way up to the Napa Valley Marina, but the tidal scenario is a bit tricky. (Something to be generally avoided in a sailboat during low tide.) I never felt unsafe at this marina, however, I wouldn't be taking a midnight stroll down the Blvd., if you know what I mean. (I did hear gun shots on at least two occasions coming from the street.) (Vallejo in general, can be a rough neighborhood.) The restrooms were clean and the staff seemed very accommodating. read more

We've frequented Vallejo Marina off and on for the past 10 years. Always enjoy staying here. Staff has always been nice and professional. Would be nice to see the old docks removed someday! Outs like the last thing left. Not sure why they don't just remove them. read more

This is just like any other government run entity. Nobody cares about anything. Stay away from this marina. People that run it take no responsibility for their actions and there is nothing you can do. They ruined my boat, and when I brought my concerns to the marina supervisor he told there is nothing he is going to do to fix the problems they created. read more

This place is great for running, walking your dog, biking, or eating. My bf and I went here out on a whim to go biking and it was great. it wasnt too crowded, and it was pretty peaceful. Parking is free. There's a couple of nice restaurants here and the prices arent too bad. read more

Unless you're white you do not want anything to do with this marina. I am a white male and my wife is of mixed decent, we were welcomed at the marina at first before they met my wife who had injured her ankle and couldn't leave the boat for the first six weeks we were there. Once they met her things changed immediately. We were both accused of things we didn't say and were lied to every step of the way. The office coordinator is from the Deep South and has a serious problem with black people. The only non- white person on the staff is a black man that cleans the bathrooms. We went to the city manager about the problem and he blew us off like we were nothing. Not to mention the free Internet that never works or the fact that we were sitting in mud at every low tide. For your own sake, stay far away from this place unless you're a serious racist. read more

I would never have thought of spending time at a Marina since I am not a boat owner but this Marina is a wonderful place to spend walking around and meeting friendly people The staff is amazing ! Bring your dog, take a walk and enjoy the views. read more

Relaxing place to store your boat. Kim is the manager and is always willing to work with people, which is nice. They have a long waiting list for liveaboard though. I've been on the list for over a year and am still waiting....patiently :). They have gas on site and pump facilities. The bathrooms are modern and there are plenty of showers and parking. There are two restaurants with decent to high prices right there on the shore, and a bit further you can find bait and convenience stores a short drive away. Way better than benecia marina, which is small, poorly run by a mean spirited middle eastern man (the owner), and lacks any gas or food facilities. read more

Great place to walk and enjoy the sunshine. I walk the dog there and see all kinds of other folks walking, jogging, and walking their dogs. Right on the walk is the coffee shop, couple of decent, and the boat launch. During the summer is really nice, fireworks, festivles and parties !!!
