We came there by chance because our boat wouldn't clear bridges the closer the truck got to the bay area.

We stayed at Pleasure Cove Campground and had a pretty good experience overall…read more One of the biggest advantages was availability. We were able to book our campsite only two weeks in advance while many other campgrounds in the area were already fully booked. The price was reasonable, especially considering that bathrooms and hot showers were included. We chose a campsite close to the shower building, although the campground map on the website doesn't provide much information about the surrounding areas of each site. Upon arrival, the access code had already been texted to us, making check-in quick and hassle-free. Our campsite had several trees that provided plenty of shade, and there were BBQ grills available for use, although campfires were not permitted during our stay. The campsite was also conveniently located near the lake access area for water activities. The water gets noticeably cleaner as you move into deeper areas. There is also a small convenience store located at the far end of the campground for basic supplies. The biggest drawbacks were the shower and restroom facilities. The shower stalls felt somewhat run-down, with low water pressure and water temperatures that were excessively hot. After dark, there were a lot of bugs and spiders around the facilities. The bathroom lights were not working during our stay, so we were thankful to have a powerful flashlight with us. Another challenge was the local wildlife. There were quite a few skunks roaming the campground, and they seemed very interested in digging through trash and food storage areas. We ended up storing our food and snacks inside the tent every night and whenever we left the campsite for water activities. Cell phone service was also a major issue. We have T-Mobile, and despite showing 1 bar of 5G, 2 bars of LTE, or even satellite connectivity, data service was essentially unusable. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, and even basic web pages would often fail to load. If you need reliable connectivity for work or communication, be prepared for limited service. Overall, it was a positive experience. It's a campground, not a luxury resort, and it provided the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. Having running water, hot showers, lake access, and decent campsite amenities made it a worthwhile trip. We would consider staying here again. Pros: Easy booking, reasonable price, shade trees, lake access, convenience store, and included showers and bathrooms. Cons: Run-down showers, poor lighting in restrooms, bugs and spiders at night, persistent skunks around campsites, and very limited cell service.

Lobby is tiny and we were greeted while they were busy with other visitors. Gave us a three level upgrade with outdoor tub but too many leaves and pollen to use. Called for housekeeping and nobody arrived. Have to call to get slippers and tooth brushes and only bought one set even though they confirmed for two. Lounge sets were not covered prior to our arrival which I would expect as part of housekeeping. Hence can't use lounge chairs and patio furniture without cleaning. Spiders on outside furnitures and inside cottage had one dangle down its web right in front of me while sitting on the sofa. Bathtub inside is broken and can't use to take a bath and looks like it's been broken for a while. I liked the folding patio door setup as allows a nice view of the roses in the yard and a nice breeze but a lot of bugs. Could be helpful if there's lavender plants in the backyard. Nice fire place in backyard that can run really hot and keep bugs off you and a nice place to relax in the morning. Shower had nice heated floors but tub not working detracted from the experience. Service is great and everyone was ultra friendly but hard product is missing the spot.

My wife and I recently stayed at Carneros Resort and Spa to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary,…read moreand unfortunately the experience fell far short of the luxury standards the resort advertises and the price point it commands. Upon arrival, we had to wait to check in because there was only one person working the front desk. For a resort charging nearly $1,200 per night, this was not a great first impression. There was also no welcome drink or arrival experience offered. The next day I noticed a bottle of wine and cups sitting on a table near check-in, but no one had mentioned it to us when we arrived. I booked through American Express Platinum and inquired about a room upgrade, but was told the resort was at full capacity and no upgrades were available. However, throughout our stay the property appeared surprisingly empty and certainly did not feel anywhere close to full occupancy. I had also informed the resort ahead of time that we were celebrating our 6th anniversary. There was no welcome note, no small gift, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. While not required, these are the types of details luxury resorts typically excel at, especially when guests are celebrating special occasions. The room itself was another disappointment. For the rate we paid, it felt small and poorly maintained. Several lights and the television were unplugged, leaving us to troubleshoot them ourselves. The curtains were falling off the rod, and there was visible trash in the backyard area. These are basic maintenance issues that should never be present at a property positioning itself as a luxury destination. Dining was equally frustrating. We attempted to get a table at The Farm and were told the next available table would be about 20 minutes. We were offered immediate seating outside near the bar, but staff failed to mention that this was effectively a different dining experience with a much more limited menu. The service there was poor from start to finish. Our waiter forgot to place one of our orders, resulting in my wife's meal arriving much later than mine. We frequently had to flag him down just to receive basic service. The food portions were small and the quality was mediocre at best. The one bright spot of our stay was the wine tasting at Post Tasting Room with Cole. He was knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely seemed to care about creating a great guest experience. He was easily the highlight of our visit. Overall, Carneros Resort and Spa did not deliver the luxury experience it promises, nor did it justify its premium pricing. Between the poor service, lack of attention to detail, room condition issues, and disappointing dining experience, I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to friends or family.

From my direct experience, the…read morewarning signs are hard to ignore: management turnover, frustrated employees, and ownership that no longer seems willing to invest in the club's future. Prospective buyers should look closely before committing. The fleet is now made up of aging boats, roughly 4-6 years old, and the wear is evident. Inventory has reportedly been reduced from 9 boats to 5, including only 2 surf boats, while pricing remains unchanged. At the same time, members are being asked to move to an "unlimited bookings" model that still limits usage to no more than 3 bookings per month!!! Last season alone, boats experienced issues ranging from failed ballast pumps and broken amps to damaged railings and inconsistent availability. Yet despite reduced inventory, aging equipment, and declining service levels, ownership appears intent on maintaining the same pricing without meaningful reinvestment. Anyone considering joining should do their homework, verify the facts independently, and speak with former members. Membership has reportedly fallen from 42 to 17 and continues to trend downward. That kind of decline does not happen without reason.

It is tucked into the hills east of the Napa Valley. The country roads to get here are narrow and windy. Though a little tough to get to, what you will get in return is lack of crowds and serenity. Did a 5 mile loop here, which started with a climb up a hill through an oak lined trail. It climbs for about 25-30 minutes, and most parts are quite shady, so quite nice. Most of the views are just of the neighboring canyon landscape. You also may run into a few cows here and there. You also may run into pockets of bugs flying in clusters. This doesn't really *bug* me, but just FYI. On the descend is where you will run into the lake. The remaining part of the hike will now be flat, out in the sun but literally lake side. The blue from the sky and lake mirror off each other. A cool breeze often bounces off the lake to ease you from all the sun bathing you will be exposed to. But if you take out your earbuds for a while and just listen to the natural sounds here, (highly recommended), it will sedate you into a meditative state. This lake is so quiet, that you can hear the voices from the people on the boats, hundreds of yards away. It's crazy. So lots of bikes on this trail as well, especially this flat, lakeside part. So keep on the right side and be mindful on what's behind you at all times. And even though out in the cuts, you're still really only about 20 minutes away from restaurants/wineries of the Napa Valley.

These paths are dog friendly which is a huge plus, and the trails are great for mountain bike riding! We've also kayaked as well and have come across fresh water otters that are so curious and love to follow your kayak. The absolute BEST time to come visit is in the spring when the grass is so green and all of the flowers are blooming. The water is usually very calm and there is a ton of wildlife to just sit and watch. It's one of the most scenic places in the valley, and it's so close to downtown St. Helena so after you can always go get lunch! Whether you're visiting or live in the valley, visit this gem!
