Face painting, bubbles, balloons, games, bounce house, water sprayers, foam bath, food trucks, Solano Public Library book mobile and more. Live music with DJ playing tunes for all. The empty parking lot when we arrived right before noon was now packed with cars double parking and driving around. Sounds of kids playing, exploring together was welcoming. The teapot is refreshing. The spout lets out a mist of cool water when the button is pushed the detached blue station directly in front. The dancing sprinkler play stations accompanied by the foam bath was fun for the big and little, part of the Dinosaur Event. The various activities for the Dinosaur Event, spread throughout the day, kept the littles engaged. What a great event and time had! Our little lasted the entirety of the event time 12-4p ending it with a bag of popcorn and an ice cream from the truck.

The entrance is like walking through a castle to a whole new world gated inside. It was clean, grassy, huge and open spaces with different areas to play for the kids. There are benches and picnic tables everywhere too. They also have restrooms on site too. Lots of grassy and shady areas to hang out as well. Our grandbaby had a great time running everywhere to her hearts content and she cannot wait to go back again with her parents.

There is always something to do and the sunsets here tend to be nice. There's always a great crowd and lively energy around, especially since the ferry stops right here and there's a bar and a nice restaurant nearby if you want to grab drinks or dinner. It isn't very popular or well known and that might be good - if you want to come on a special holiday. San Francisco can be overrated sometimes and this wouldn't be so crowded. San leandro waterfront - the mayor seemed to give up on about 10 years ago. This still has some boats - and that adds to the mood even if you don't sail. A lot of people in my family like the water - I'm not really one of them - I like to look at the water but not necessarily be in it or on it - sailing or swimming. YOu wouldn't swim in this water anyway. I think its more of a cesspool in that respect. THe whole bay is. Its brown and probably has all sorts of stuff growing in it - only people who have looked through a microscope would know. When I was a kid 35 years ago the water was still decent looking. It was sort of blue - maybe with a tiny tint of green. Today it is brown as toilet water after some bad Taco Bell. Still, I enjoy looking at this Taco Bell water - I just don't want to be in it.... even if I am so to speak. So many of my friends moved to Texas and Vegas to get away from the cesspool. My friends with kids that is. The whole situation reminds me of my favorite Jingletown Oakland blog writer Sandra Tavel - she somehow lives in the filth but somehow is above it in her fancy condo.

Beautiful views (including Carquinez Bridge in the distance, mountains, Amtrak was chugging along in the far distance also!), ocean air, and a breeze. It was pretty cold and foggy when I first arrived. Then, the sun peaked out more and got some vitamin D. I took a nice stroll on the sidewalk that winds around the pier and by a restaurant and some homes. The ocean view stayed front and center the entire time. There wasn't many people there at the time I went. It felt like I owned the area to myself for a little bit :) There's street parking (free). There were benches all along the sidewalk and the pier, if you just want to sit and watch the ocean waves. I definitely will be returning for some more Vitamin sea time! :)

Discovered this park while traveling with my little guy and what a cute park! There is a side for…read moresmaller and one for bigger kids with a huge grass field to run around in. The only bummer was the parking. I had to park along the street and use the pathway to walk to it because the other side where there is parking appears to be apart of the apartment complex with a locked gate. Also I didn't notice any restrooms and the water fountain didn't work. Overall it was enough fun for an almost 5 year old because we played for over an hour and half...perfect because I need to go to the shopping plaza near by so it's a great way to tire out the kiddo then hit a store right across from the playground.

There's a boat ramp, a dock, fishing pier, public restrooms, a playground, two volleyball nets set up and as I said earlier, a great view. Considering that the park itself is not huge, there's quite a bit to do.

Well, let me share that this place is magical. There's something here. I've been carrying around some deep negative emotions, pertaining to loss and grief, and this place, after walking around and letting myself roam free, was able to clear my head. It's no wonder it's in the middle of Vallejo. I'm sure I'm not the only not first one who has had some deep issues on mind while being here. It's a cleansing place. Before walking inside, I bowed to the forest and allowed my gut to guide me. Alert. Coffee in hand. I'm so grateful. After the small walk and journey, I bowed again in reverence. Cleanse. Enjoy. Also, there's plenty of parking and flushing restrooms, although not exactly clean. Just don't sit on the toilet. Also, who sits on public restrooms anyway? We all know it's not the boujeest of places. And maybe don't come after dark. Follow the light.

Mare Island Heritage Trail is great if you're looking for an easy, scenic walk with a little…read morehistory mixed in. The trail runs along the waterfront with really nice views of the bay, the Napa River, and the old naval shipyard buildings. You get a mix of open water, boats, and historic structures, which makes it feel a little more interesting than your typical flat walk. On a clear day, the views are especially good and it's super peaceful. It's very dog friendly, which is a huge plus. Plenty of space for pups to walk and explore, just make sure to bring water for them since there's not a ton of shade in some sections. Also definitely bring tick spray.

I work on Mare Island and I haven't had a chance to check this area out yet. Visitors try to find…read morethe highest peak where the Ghost ship art pieces are or the cemetery but I have yet to go through the trail. I felt like drivers were driving fast on the road. There's a parking lot at the bottom before the trail. I saw some runners and people with dogs but I plan to go check it out with a group of coworkers one of these days.
