We quickly got an appointment where Dr Parini cleaned her ears, made adjustments and repairs so when we left, mom could hear again. She is also very knowledgeable of how to navigate the Kaiser system and helped us with a plan for future care. We paid out of pocket since Kaiser will take much longer to be seen and mom couldnt wait that long. Absolutely worth it!

From there my history and questions were answered, followed by comprehensive hearing testing, and I truly appreciate having the tests explained as they were administered. Results of those tests were also clearly and specifically presented to me, along with the options I had going forward, Needless to say, I was impressed. I had Starkey hearing aids that were replaced while under warranty in May 2024. I went for an…read moreannual hearing test in January of 2025 and there was additional loss in my left ear. My ENT suggested that Bi-Cross hearing aids might be appropriate After working with the PH office we went with Bi cross and I had the first follow up appointment on February 25, 2025 and between that time and April 29, 2025 I returned to the office at least Nine times trying to get the hearing aids to work. Then we went on vacation to Europe and during that time I found the hearing aids to be so ineffective that I stopped using them. I notified the office on my return , May 28, 2025 and they asked me to go back to the office and they performed some new measurements and I tried them for three weeks and I returned to the office and reported that these' ineffective hearing aids we're having a very negative impact on my intellectual ability so much so that I had stopped using them and gone back to my old hearing aids. I ask for a refund because while I had tried to be patient and cooperative they were not able to deliver a functional solution The first response was that it was past sixty days and they couldn't be returned but they would try to work out something with Starkey. To date no resolution or communication. Starkey's website states that it can take up to four months for the brain and the hearing aids to be effective. Any response would be appreciated

After having a recent hearing test and speaking with my doctor, I had to find a reliable and dependable hearing aid provider. I met with three different hearing aid service providers in the East Bay. My experience with Valerie was exceptional. She explained everything to me and compared it with my hearing test results to give me professional guidance on what would work best for me. We discussed a particular hearing aid make and model I was interested in and she gave me a reasonable and fair price. She did not try to pressure me and was very helpful, friendly, and supportive. In the end, I did not end up using Hearing Science of Walnut Creek, only because I found another provider, which is closer to my residence. Otherwise, I would be using their services and expertise. I highly recommend Valerie Fitzgibbons and Hearing Science of Walnut Creek.

My mom is in her 80s and was seen at John Muir for memory issues. What I want to say very clearly:…read more A person with memory issues does NOT REMEMBER that they can't remember. I went with her and very clearly stated all of the issues in front of both my Mom and Donna S. Donna S suggested that her other doctors consider prescribing Donepezil - for memory issues and an amyloid blood test. However, when she went to Sherille Sevilla and Maridez Jenkins she does not remember all that was discussed and agreed. She tells them all that she was tired when she did the 3 hour assessment and it was not valid. I don't know why the doctors don't coordinate more and understand the report and all the notes. It is very clear from both the assessment and my statements to them that she has severe short term memory issues. The fact that instead of using the assessment and my very specific details they listen to her when she says that she is fine (because she does not remember anything) is just ridiculous. My understanding is that many of the prescriptions for memory only stop the progress. This means taking them sooner is better. This is not the first signs of memory issues for her at all. This has been ongoing and I finally had hope that doctors would help her and start addressing the issues. But they COMPLETELY FAILED us. Now I don't know what to do. She thinks everything is fine and it is truly terrible and sad. She was a college professor and incredibly smart. And her decline is awful - but made SO MUCH WORSE by doctors who do not coordinate and do not listen.

Long story short, Dr. Breitling ended up speaking with me for 15 minuets and explained why I was experience the issue I had and that I likely do not need a new brand of hearing aids. He was extremely helpful, well beyond the service I received with my previous audiologist and I should point out that he did all of this for free over the phone. He even asked about my insurance, which he unfortunately for me, is not in network for, but nonetheless, provided me with excellent advice. I can't imagine any other professional doing this. I had to write this review as my way of thanking him for his time. As other reviews have stated, not only is he a competent Audiologist, he is a very nice and personable person.

Many of us need to document who we spoke with, and providing one's name is as basic as confirming any element of communication. When I called this office and politely asked the MA for their name, I was met with attitude and a snarky "How may I help you?" simply for asking a basic question - he tone and unprofessionalism were what stood out. Upon further review, this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident--this type of attitude seems to be commonplace at this office. If multiple staff are responding this way, it suggests a larger issue with office stress levels, training, and customer service. Patients and caregivers deserve courtesy, transparency, and respect, not pushback for asking standard, reasonable questions.
