I don't eat red beans and rice often, but will want to come back here for some of the best I've had.

This place is amazing! I first went to their restaurant in Merriman Valley locates in an old bank. It was a real mom and pop venture. The food was good and honest for a breakfast joint. Then they opened on the corner of high and college in Wadsworth and I was super happy. The place has only gotten better in the last five years. They now have gluten free options and a delicious dinner menu. We went there last night with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. Although the drink menu is limited (at least they have adult beverages!) I was able to find a tasty treat in the Hurricane that was made with gluten free alcohol! I also order the special of salmon on mushroom risotto that was delicious. The salmon was so fresh and the risotto was super creamy with big chunks on mushrooms in it. It was served with a side of carrots! Yum. My husband got the French dip and he plate was clean when he was done! Our friends got the crispy chicken salad and the shrimp and grit cakes after he enjoyed the fried ravioli. When we were done we took our receipts and crossed the street to Dolce and had home made gelato! In Wadsworth!!! The owners of the Valley Cafe bought the Strand and have done a marvelous job of making a new destination for entertainment in downtown Wadsworth. As we ate our desserts we listened to a solo singer on the outdoor patio that has two bocce ball courts! I try to have breakfast here every weekend. The choices are plentiful and each one is great (I've tried them all). The sausage gravy is the BEST! If you're up to the challenge get the Dan's Barnyard, you won't have to eat the rest of the day. read more

I'm from Wadsworth, but I live in Pittsburgh now. My mom wanted to take me to this cute, little diner that has Pittsburgh-based owners. I really enjoyed the menu and their references to Pittsburgh phraseology and color scheme. Unfortunately, they didn't offer any Pittsburgh famous recipes. However, they did serve amazing, home cooked breakfast that you could get at some of Pittsburgh's world famous breakfast diners. For being in Wadsworth, they really made it feel like a little piece of Pittsburgh. The breakfast selection is amazing. Our waitress was courteous and helpful and even though the place was getting ready to close, we stayed and they didn't kick us out. We will be back again. read more

Definitely my favorite place to get breakfast! I don't usually eat out much, but I'm here about once a month. I love bringing friends here for the first time and showing them their giant pancakes. We absolutely love this place! They have a fantastic menu with something for everyone! We love to get breakfast here on the weekends and I love to meet my girlfriends for lunch here. The only bad thing is they close at like 3pm?! My family would eat dinner here at least 1 night per week if they were open until like 7 or 8! If this place was open for dinner service all of Wadsworth would be here. We do not have many sit down family type places to eat in Wadsworth. We only have chain type restaurants like Chipotle here. We need more dinner places! Sooo if BJ and Nicole are reading this please please consider having a few evenings a week open for family dinner nights!! We love the original Valley Cafe, so we were very excited to see one opening in Wadsworth. Great location, lots of parking. We have never had more than a 10 minute wait. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We take our 2 toddlers and they make chocolate milk for the kids with real choc syrup. The food is top notch. Fresh eggs, full omelettes. The breakfast burritos and corned beef hash are favorites. The bacon is thick and cooked perfectly, sausage is thick and not too greasy. I could probably write an entire review just on their potatoes. Absolutely perfect. The best part is they serve Pearl coffee. Delicious and not flat cardboard tasting like foldgers or something. read more

Great place to go! In the 5 years I've lived in the immediate Wadsworth area, there have been a few cafes and restaurants in this location, and I was glad to see that there was a VCAF opening in Wadsworth. I've always loved going to the Medina location, and I can honestly say that this one is even more impressive. The staff is friendly and care about their customers. The Harvey "WHO ALWAYS SITS AT TABLE 9 :-)" is very good, as well as the Reuben. The breakfast menu is very good as well. I'd recommend this place if you want a good atmosphere, nicely conditioned, and great food restaurant to have a great meal at. I'm greatly impressed. read more

Each Sunday we eat here for breakfast. Valley has a great selection of items and the portions are generous. We are a fan to a point...because I love my pancakes, this is what I ordered on our first visit. Someone doesn't know how to do pancakes. Light and fluffy is the rule. Though "big as a plate" as advertised, mine was that, but so tough and flat I could hardly cut it with a fork. Tried them again weeks later with the same result. They are tough because of over beating of the batter. The home fries are mushy. Seems as if the potatoes are boiled first and then fried. Not good. I would love to have the biscuits and gravy again but, they are so spicy hot I had to drink milk after each bite. Overpowers the flavor of this dish. The wait staff is friendly and welcoming and it is a fun place to go. read more

We stopped at the Valley Cafe this morning (with a huge group) on our way to a family funeral. The service was excellent and the manager (possibly owner?) chatted with us and even said grace for our family. My daughter and I came in today while they were really busy, surprisingly we didn't have to wait to be sat and we got our food SUUUPER QUICK!! Our servers were awesome, Mike was really friendly and made sure our experience was a good one, made sure we were happy with our food, made sure we had drinks in our cups at all times and never stopped smiling. Wendy was a sweetheart and was full of energy, she was our server the very first time we came in. Will definitely be going back again, I suggest getting the signature sausage gravy and biscuits YUMMM !! read more

Disappointed in the food and the service - so much so I was motivated to leave my first review on yelp after years of lurking. Waitress was very nice but not very attentive - did not ask how my food was. It came out cold. Nothing like toast with unmelted butter on it. Understandably eggs can cool off quickly, but the hash browns were also room temperature at best. The hot cocoa was very nice and the host was very warm and welcoming. Will not be back. read more

I don't think I will be back. Was going not very impressed. Atmosphere and decor was nice. Workers were friendly. Service was quick. However, I ordered a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese plain. For 10.99 I was not very impressed with the burger meat. I received my order not plain. The gentleman who ran the food took it back and they just pulled of the tomato and lettuce and gave it back( yeah I could of done that) would of been better if they at least put fresh cheese on it. I ended up not eating and went for pizza. What I was upset about, being in the service industry doe 15 years you don't gamble with people's health now a days. Now for me asking for a plain cheeseburger was simply because I do not like the taste of the veggies but if I had an allergy they could of hurt me if I didn't happen to pick the top bun up to put ketchup on the burger. They have no management just servers who check up on tables when there is a problem which is fine, was just astonished. But highly doubt I'll be back. The server was sweet. This was our first experience at Valley Cafe for dinner. I had heard their pork chops were amazing and I would have to agree. My pork chop was large portioned, thick, tender and well prepared. I also thoroughly enjoyed the scallop appetizer and French Onion soup. Catherine, our server, was pleasant, knowledgable and helpful. Service was prompt as well. Solid breakfast spot. Nice comfortable decor, great attentive and caring wait staff. I will definitely be back. Ordered omelet (among other things) and was an average omelet and a bit dry. My wife thought hers wasn't dry so maybe it was a fluke. Everything else was excellent. Home fries were banging. read more

Food is a little bit hit or miss when I come here. The service could be better for sure. Except for the last time, the server would just do these pass by's like she didn't have the decency to actually stop at the table and listen or talk with us. Instead we had to talk to her as she was walking away from the table. Pretty disrespectful. Their spicy cabbage soup is amazing, and order it all the time. Eggs Benedict is pretty top notch as well. But that's about all I've had there that is any good. I would not suggest scrambled eggs here to ANYONE. I'm picky about my scrambled eggs not being overcooked so I order them scrambled soft. They are ALWAYS burnt and gross. So gross it has made me lose my appetite. I'm guessing they use bagged eggs and not fresh cracked eggs because they just couldn't seem to get that right. I do not know that for sure though but the taste of them tasted of a processed egg and not that of fresh eggs. And also most likely kitchen staff that does not understand how to cook eggs. While I have had ok food here (not outstanding by any means) I cannot say the same about the service. It's awful anytime I've been there. Nothing to go out of the way for or seek out. read more
