Apparently this business is NOT officer friendly any and ALL officers of ANY kind should NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER get their shoes done here, my family member had a straighten staple positioned in a place where as soon as he stepped on it after getting his shoes redone re-sold it punctured his foot causing severe pain and bleeding. It was deliberate. This is what THIS BUSINESS DID and it is vile and unacceptable to say the least, and the owner HAS to know and is completely complicit or is completely ignorant of its employees which is even worse. Before I committed to letting them repair the shoes, I ASKED them if they could repair them, they said yes, they charged me, and said they would call me when ready. You would think as a customer: If they said yes to accepting the job, if they charged me for the job, then it means they can do the job, that they have the expertise to do so, right? Wrong. I had to call to get an update, they finally said they were ready and when I get there, the shoes are full of glue, very visible, and the suede is damage. Their lame excuse is they could not fix them...then why charge me if you could not do it? Why commit to only do a sloppy job? Why attempt to do it if you don't have the experience to do it? Worse, why give this excuse and STILL have the audacity to charge and yes not reimburse me for AT LEAST the cost of repairs, which would not even be enough to cover for one shoe!? Stay away, pay more and next time don't do the same mistake I did. Not worth it.

Both times there was no apology just anger and claims that he "was busy" and I could take my shoes back. Both times I gave him a chance, returned and paid for work that was not particularly complicated nor inexpensive. I may be old fashioned but customer service, courtesy and a friendly manner still matter. Sadly, that was not what I experienced at Cortez Shoe Repair so there will be no third chance.

It isn't cheap, but much better than having to buy new shoes. My shoes were not quite ready on the day of pickup which was a little disappointing. However, I appreciated the staff prioritizing them. Come here to freshen up your old shoes. They repair and all kinds of leather goods beyond shoes including leather bags, wallets, etc. There is also a table full of wallets repaired and cleaned. Most are $65. So not cheap, but definitely a unique item. They even gave me a complimentary pair of shoe laces.

The store keeps your information on file so a phone call is all it takes to order new boots. You don't have to go in to be fitted each time. My husband has found a style he likes and he's been buying the same boot for many years. You can check out all their styles online, which I did, but turns out he was already buying the best one. Maybe I just got lucky but the person I dealt with on the phone and in the store was Roberto. He took time with me on the phone when I was checking out the different features of the newer boots online. He was patient and knowledgeable, answered all my questions. I'm reeeeeeely sensitive about service. HATE spending money in a store where the employees aren't courteous. Don't we all? I don't…read moremind investing a bit in ones that last (and they seem to be more comfortable) Our long term cobbler got priced out of his rent and this seems to be a dying skillset. Luckily, we found Bernardo. He's an expert cobbler with reasonable prices. If something isn't worth fixing, he'll tell you. As other Yelpers have mentioned, access is confusing. Meet him at the back door podium. He'll know you're there because he has a camera. I wish Bernardo was open for longer hours and on more days, but we have a new cobbler.

Extremely poor workmanship on Birkenstock resole and cork rebuild. Cannot recommend for this…read morepurpose My Birks required a rubber resole, and the cork near the heel had also started to wear. I asked if they could resole with the Vibram rubber, which was supposedly more durable. I was told they are the same as the Birks rubber. I dont believe that and should have taken that as a red flag already Nonetheless, I was told they could help with the cork rebuild, sole replacement, and cork sealant. Price of $75 (which apparent is the same for sole replacement only). Cork sealant was complimentary which I appreciated. Turn around time in a week I was extremely disappointed when I saw the condition of my shoes upon pick up. This is what I noticed: - Visible large holes between the cork and sole, which he then filled on site. Still it is uneven all around. I shouldn't need to point these out in the first place - Excess pieces of rubber still hanging off. This should be a quite trim to finish it, but instead, looks very sloppy - The cork at the heel doesn't look rebuilt, or at least, not properly. There is a noticible thickness difference between the cork on the left vs right heels - The sealant application looks extremely poor. There are large visible raised build ups and air bubbles. There are large amounts of sealant in accidental spots on the leather. The obvious lack of care is extremely disappointing Not sure how they can be charging this amount of money for this quality of work. The reviews have other happy customers so your mileage may vary
