Luckily, we found Bernardo. He's an expert cobbler with reasonable prices. If something isn't worth fixing, he'll tell you. As other Yelpers have mentioned, access is confusing. They have a booth outside the building (yay COVID consideration) right next to the parking lot where you can get a quote and drop off your shoes. Easy and quick. Friendly. I needed a heel replaced on a boot. They advised that I replace both boot heels so that they would be even since they didn't have the exact heel of the original boot. It was $16. Seems like they have pretty fair prices especially for the area. I dropped off around 2 pm on Wednesday, they said the shoes would be ready for pickup Friday around the same time. Oh man, am I happy. So I have a pair of Reeboks I wear to work. I've had them for somewhere between 15-25 years. I don't even remember when I got them. I think these are Reebok's version of the Nike Air Force 1. (But these are better!) There is something magical about the cushioning in the heel to the midfoot. Very comfortable. So the heels were starting to wear through, and my left clutch foot sole had actually split at the ball of my foot. (My car has a stiff clutch!) So Bernardo Shoe Repair replaced the sole. You can see in the pictures. The awesome thing? He matched the color between the new sole and the rest of the bottom rubber portion of the shoe. Very cool. Plus, I wore them after I picked them up at lunch back to work, and I realized late in the day, that I had completely forgotten about them, *because they felt identical to before the repair.* Awesome! My son somehow got a hole in two newer pairs of his shoes. I'm so glad I found this place. It was close to me and very convenient. I came by to see if they were is repairable and the gentleman said he could do the two shoes for $9 each. I'm not sure what the going rate is in something like this but I thought it was a steal as each pair of shoes is worth more than $150 each. I went ahead with the repairs and picked it up a few days later and they were good as new! You can barely notice they were repaired or anything!! A small shop run by Bernardo alone. He handles the entire store by himself. His hours are convenient for me. It's my first time using him. I dropped in to have my new leather flats stretched. His turnaround time is 24 hrs to have the shoes stretch properly. He ask that I return in 2 days which I found odd but I didn't mind because I don't have a need for it the next day. His sign said all work will be done after 3pm. I called him at noon to see if they were done because I had plans that night so couldn't go to the store after work. When I called him, he seemed upset but I asked that it's well past 24 hrs for stretching. I can't come by after work. He said it bluntly that my shoes are ready to pick up at lunch. When I arrived to his store, I asked him that I called about picking it up at lunch time. He couldn't look me in the face and said that he has my shoes. This was my first time stretching so I tried it on and it still fits snugly but not painful like before. He didn't like my comment. He said if it still needs more stretching to leave it with him at no cost. I was fine to wear it out myself. In summary, I didn't feel comfortable about meeting him again. I will try on my shoes for the next week and see how the fit and comfort are. If it fits fine, I will reconsider seeing him. I would say go try him out and see how your experience goes. read more
