This school has tremendously blessed us through constant teaching from the word of God. CCA takes a biblical worldview seriously and immerses Scripture throughout all curriculum and all grades. The school is very intentional in shaping its students to have godly and mature characters. As a classical Christian school, especially on younger grades, students go back to fundamentals and proven materials as opposed to blindly boost STEM. Both of our children love going to school and eagerly share with us what they have learned every day when we pick them up from school. They each experience much love and care from teachers and staff. As parents, we have learned a lot from monthly daddy's prayer and mommy's prayer days. As a relatively small school, we feel very welcomed through this tight community of Christian families. We can truly see the fruit of the Holy Spirit in each dedicated & humble teacher and staff. In addition to the heartwarming smiles we see each day, the solid academic work is also impressive. Another plus is CCA is also affordable! Of course, no school is perfect, but we trust that as long the school continues to stand firmly on the true foundation, the Lord will guide and grow this school in the years to come.

Since only parents are giving reviews on this school, here's a review from a former student…read more The original vision for this school was great, they wanted to raise up "Esthers and Daniels" and incorporate the truth of God's Word into the education, and give advanced classical education. At the beginning of the school, they did exactly that and there weren't many problems from what I understood. Then the staff started to get swapped out which caused a complete change in their vision and God being taken out of the center. First, half of the teachers and staff are not qualified to teach and not socialized properly with children. The principal Jere Allen choked a 6th grader with their hoodie all because of his OCD about not wanting them leaning on a certain fence. "I love making kids insecure," are his words, right after he yelled at kids for talking on their way to class. This guy still hasn't been fired by the way. Just know if you send your kids here you will not win with the staff EVER. If you're not involved in the staff as a parent, you'll be talking to a brick wall with every question or complaint you have. They'll crucify your kid for the wrong colored socks but let their own kids wear whatever they want and pass them even if they fail a class. If your kid is getting bullied by a staff kid or favored kid, I promise you that nothing will be done about it. And the highschool is even worse than elementary. Multiple students had complaints because they advertised it as a "rhetoric high school" and then proceeded to take out the only rhetoric class they had. Then they heard the students complaints, did nothing about it, then accused them of spreading gossip. There is no advanced education in the highschool or any AP classes, and a diploma from here will not get your kid into anything except bible colleges. It's never an easy choice, but I encourage parents to do proper research before sending your kids here. There are many more options if you want classical education for your kid. Don't rely on school to parent your kids or teach them truth of God's word, they need you for guidance. School should not be a place where your kid is placed in a hierarchy, they are there to learn, and teachers are there to teach. I don't know much about the current elementary school but I know that CCA's advertisements for the high school are a complete lie. This is an authoritarian school, not a Christian discipleship school, but if you want that and think that it's best for your kid, go for it. Lastly, if you are looking for a teaching position here, I don't recommend it either. The admin mistreats the teachers just as much as they do the students. If you're curious, read CCAs indeed reviews. There's no doubt that almost all of the the teachers at the school were amazing and genuine Godly leaders for the students, but they leave the school almost immediately after joining because of the horrible mistreatment, and they can't protect the kids from the admin who abuse their authority every chance they get. It was not the smoothest of transitions, but…read moreduring those critical first few months, it became apparent to us what the strengths of this school were: 1. Committed Staff -- Everybody, from the principal to the teachers and support (student services and after school), is committed to help out the students and their parents. We had a meeting within the first few months to discuss my son's progress and brainstormed how to help him out in certain situations that we had identified as "tricky". 2. Quality of the teachers -- I saw the reviews. Fortunately, my son was placed with teachers that understood him and motivated him to get excited and persevere with the lessons. Recently (after his first year), I discovered that they strongly encourage parents at the end of each schoolyear to fill out a form that details kids' strengths/weaknesses/learning styles, etc... all to help them identify which teacher is best for your kid(s). And this pandemic was a blessing in disguise for us -- in the few times we were able to listen to their Zoom classes, we saw and heard the joy and the positive energy his 2nd Grade teachers have. These came across strongly, and the kids are excited to participate and raise their hands to answer questions. My son can't even wait to wake up for in-person classes or log onto Zoom (on Zoom days). Now I understand why his homeroom teacher has to have a big tall Americano everyday :D 3. Sense of community -- all of these build that feeling in the students that school is a safe and happy place. We felt it in the first few minutes that we looked at the playground before my son's "interview". The students recognized that my son was not a student in the school, but they welcomed him and showed him the ropes around the playground. Nobody told them to play with my son, they did that all on their own. There were some spats with a kid on the playground during the 1st grade, but the situations were always handled with care by the staff, in a very fair manner. After a week or so it stopped, and the kid picking on my son actually became his friend. 4. Academics and extra-curricular -- I must admit that the extra-curricular program (esp the arts) was the first draw for us. Robust programs that build on all the way to high school. And the after-school programs are also well-chosen and well-run. The only nit I have, and it's very minor-- is the tuition fee. It's not cheap. But I recognize that in order to recruit and keep their valuable staff and provide their topnotch programs, they will need those resources. All in all, we are just so happy with the school, and we have been telling our friends about it. If you are thinking about placing your children here -- (1) Do it as early as Kindergarten, or (2) Do it early (for the upper grades); check their admissions calendar on the website. Re-enrollment levels for the current students is high so available slots for transferees are so few, think 2-3 slots.

So, I am bound to give you a completely honest review. Since most 5 star reviews are from 50 year old dads who have never experienced what the school is like once you're actually a student and that it's all sunshine and rainbows everyday. To begin with, the school is pretty awesome. Art vista, science, and the library are like no other. Even though I love my new school district, nothing will ever beat the library they have at Hacienda. The field is HUGE and great for younger children to play in. Although I'd never choose to have hot lunch, I've always gotten breakfast. The food is amazing. Especially the mini pancakes. MOST teachers and staff and especially my counselor were super helpful throughout the years, and I would recommend this school to those around me. But of course--like any school, there is a downside to it. Now obviously, I'm not going to start rambling about how "annoying" teachers are, or how much work they give us, or the dress code, but this is rather a warning for those like me with learning differences. I have really bad anxiety, and a learning disability, so most days at school were rough for me. Of course, I had good days, but staff need to care less about scheduling assemblies ABOUT kindness and shift their attention to actually helping the kids who are being bullied and left unnoticed--because just acting like everything is fine and not doing anything at all only causes more problems. And who wants their kid to be in a school that feels like walking on eggshells every day? Nobody. At all. Most kids in my grade today most likely loved this school. That pretty much tells you all you need to know. This is the best school I have ever heard of, let alone seen. My eldest goes here, and her sister starts Kinder soon. When you pick the kids up they want to go play on the playground with friends. They are crestfallen if you pick them up more than 5 minutes before closing at the YMCA. This is a special community and it is infectious. If you don't win the lottery don't despair. Both my kids were waitlisted to start and got in by Sep so it does happen. It's interesting to note how I just mentioned "our family" in reference to ACDS, because it's true - from the start it never felt like it was just my daughter being welcomed into a classroom. My husband and I were also ushered into a community of parents, children, teachers, administrators, and staff that truly are a community. This sense of familiarity and care, right from the start, was welcome. We looked at ACDS for my daughter after having been with a couple of other schools in the region that seemed to emphasize academics above all else. Academics are of course important, but I also wanted my daughter to have the chance to play and explore other possible interests. ACDS has a full complement of enrichment and extracurricular activities. Science, art, drama, music, you name it. There's a choir and a band. And every year every grade puts on a theater production, which I'm hoping next year can be done in the brand new Event Center. When school closed for COVID in March of last year, ACDS was ready for it. They moved their entire educational program online within a matter of 3 days, and it has been going strong ever since. When the school reopened for in-person learning in the fall, they continued the remote learning option alongside it. My daughter is presently the only child left online in her class, though she will be returning to school next week. Her teacher has been in close touch with me to make sure that she feels included and supported. The real gift is that my daughter has felt she is an active and important part of the community no matter where she physically is in relation to the school. And speaking of the teachers, wow! Dedicated and enthusiastic sound cliche but I assure they are not. The thought and energy they put into their lessons, especially even across two learning platforms, is phenomenal. If they had a high school, I would be planning to send my daughter. But for now I will just enjoy the stellar preparation she is getting for whatever step she chooses next.
