I loved high school, it was one of the most memorable periods of my life because I made great friends who I still talk to today, the activities that this school puts were great, and from my experience there wasn't an obvious sense of social stratification, ... though people did hang out in certain groups/cliques but this school was so diverse that you could make friends with anybody from a wide range of backgrounds. I was part of the thunderously hip Japanese Program, I took part in F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.S., homecoming, I wish I had joined some clubs but I made a great group of friends, and that's the greatest accomplishment one could ask for. I don't know which teachers are still teaching. But Okuda was awesome, Cervantes was knowledgeable, Hall was scary at times but definitely a GREAT teacher. This school was awesome and I really miss high school bc of how fun it was for me. So if you want to make your HS years memorable, MAKE IT memorable :) Make the best out of it. read more

This was our first time coming here. We were here for a basketball game. It was a club team, thus I think they just rented out the gym. It was a little confusing on finding the gym. We went left and saw the drop off area and drove around the football field. We retraced our steps and drove farther straight and found the gym. There was plenty of parking and even some parking in the shade. The parking lot needs a little of grooming. We parked next to an island and it was filled with branches and weeds. The gym was nice. It was a little stuffy, even with all the doors open. The seating was plentiful. The bathroom was in the lobby, it was clean and easy to find. All of the East Side gets a bad rap, and Silver Creek is no exception. I can safely say, however, that I turned down the invitation to attend Notre Dame H.S. in order to stay at SC--and it wasn't a mistake! I had an amazing high school experience while here, and I attribute that mainly to my own good judgment. I played sports pretty much year-round and kept out of trouble by taking journalism and yearbook. My friends weren't "rebels" or anything like that, and I didn't preoccupy my time with worrying about being "cool" (and it probably showed). My parents didn't allow me to hang around at malls after school. I was actually expected to do my homework and get good grades--which makes a huge difference in success rates. (That's not to say I never cut, but I was smart about it.) Whatever. I'm a firm believer that a school is only as good as you make it, and I made SC a great school (as far as my own experience went). While I was there, numerous sports were available (even if the coach didn't get scouts to come out to see us), and we had a very active student government system. Our Principal, Fred DeFuniak, wasn't well-liked by lots of students, but as soon as he retired, the school went to shit in many ways (which shows he was obviously doing something right). It seems like it has gone down-hill quite a bit since I've graduated (as told by my younger brothers), which sucks. Please beware of an English teacher named Mr. Zellner. Racist and the type of teacher who likes to "trick" students. No bueno and incredibly frustrating, to say the least. Ms. Weck, Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Amstrup, Mr. Luescher, Mr. Okano, and Mrs. Voss are all AMAZING though! Basically, don't just judge this school (or any school) by appearances or demographics. Many of my friends and I made it through just fine (and even went to colleges such as UCLA and Berkeley)...imagine that! read more

Class of '03! Yee! Highschool was fun. I wouldn't change anything about it. Silver Creek would have received 5 stars from me. However, there was one staff member who messed that up. More specifically an English teacher. haha.. No names.. she was a good teacher, but we bumped heads quite a few times. Sometimes seemed like decisions towards me were on a personal level. "Alex passed the test? This test is invalid!","Alex smiles at the trees!" haha... Damn! Its all jokes now, no hard feelings. Don't get me wrong, she knew her stuff. Very intelligent individual. Wise. Reminds me of Yoda. haha.. Other than that... Maan, what i would give to live highschool all over again. Hangin' out after school, workin' on friends' cars. Going out to the "Runs" weekly, with UndeRateD, which is now a close knit group of friends. Parking lot rivalries. Experiencing first loves and first heart breaks. Cheering loud and obnoxiously in the stands during my sister's basketball games. Fantastics/Homecoming senior year. "Cartoon Heroes" - its on my ipod. haha.. SENIOR CUT DAY! Prom. Lunch! Those were the days.. Forever will be good times. Now as I sit here in my rocking chair, collecting my gray hairs and getting old, I think of Silver Creek High School Class of '03. I love this school! The teachers here are awesome!!! I have a few younger friends who are currently in middle school who told me that they are all surprised of how big the school is. And lol they were all shocked of how the track is huge as well. read more

Class of 2014 here. I love this school. I hated it when I got transferred out here from San Francisco. But the thing is, people here are friendly and teachers are very good. The downside of this school is lack of locker rooms that they taken out before, and a cafeteria to hangout during lunch even though there's overhang. Hmmm not sure what to say about this place, all I can say is this is my lil man first year of HS. FreshMan, yep that's right we all have been there. He has another 3 more years to survive until summer of 2014. I did made a promise to him that I can't move anywhere until he's done because of all of his friends from elementary and middle school go to Silver Creek High. He doesn't want to be away from his childhood friends and relocate to any new places where he has to start everything all over again. Been there done that and hated, therefore I'm not going to do that to him. That's why as a mother to my only child, I have to do what is best for the situation. Most important, to see my lil man happy it makes me happy and brings joy/smile into my every day life. I check-in every morning when I drop him off to school by 7:05 AM the latest (Mon-Fri). I told my lil man and reminded him every day, try to enjoy it while you are in HS and make the best out it while it last because it's the best memories of your life time and this is where your journey begin where everything take places and it's a new beginning of a teenager life. This is where you hold on to your friendship and continue to grow from this day forward. Hopefully he'll take my words into consideration and not go from one ear to another. Oh well as a mother, I'll try do my best to share with him what I know and try to protect him in every way that I can but it doesn't matter what I say or do, he has his own mind and his own way of thinking. The decision is still his and not mine, I can only wish and hope he'll make a wise choice and walk on a right path for himself and won't allow anyone to influence him. Attending Silver Creek was a very memorable four years of my life. I met so much great people there. Everyone is really fun & funny. I learned a lot from so many awesome teachers there like Mr. Nguyen, Mr. Dyer, Mrs. Tomblin, Mr. Staten, Mrs Enoveso and so on.. I really truly felt welcomed there and I grew so much as person. There may be hard times while being in high school, but the good outweighs the bad especially if you go to such a great high school. Class of 06. I am not proud to been here it was a dumb school. In the middle of my junior year my friends weren't true friends because their friends had spread a rumor about me and it got them to abandon me and i was such a loner that i had to just continue going without any friends. I hung out with a group only because they felt sorry that i was wondering around. High school was great. Only thing I hated about it was a teacher named Mr.Niazmand. This professor was pretty much an asshole who had a stick in his butt. Bathrooms are pretty gross, A few people in the office are kind of jerks, It can get pretty crowded sometimes, but on the good notes, Teachers are pretty cool (at least mine are), academics are pretty good and easy, also clubs and stuff here seem to be more serious. read more

5 stars because I went to this high school a LONG time ago! lol! Me and the kids went here today because they have swimming lessons there through West Coast Aquatics. They are taught by teenagers I think...or maybe young adults but they are all really good with my kids and very sweet. They are patient and give lots of praise. My children are on Level 3 now and they love their swimming lessons. I highly recommend this company! read more

I know a lot of people in the district think that we might be one of the worst schools around but if you spent time in a class room or even in the school....you would soon realize that its not that bad. I graduated in 04' and had the best high school experiences there. Sports programs were underated and we had a lot of good athletes. Teachers like Mr. Gianini, Mrs. Bernardini, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Dirk were cool as hell. I remember sitting in Mr. G's class during break sometimes and he would tell us his war stories and eat popcorn. although there were groups that hung out with each other....everyone pretty much knew everyone from one group or another. it was a good school and F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.S in 04' was crazy. It just sucks that they are trying to take sports out of the school this coming year for the students. I have to admit it though, it was fun when i was there and wish i could go back to those days sometimes. read more
