But the office staff waited almost a year before billing the insurance company, then it was a few later before they received payment. By then it was summer of 2013. The billing office sent us one bill for our co-pay which we paid two months later. By then, they apparently decided to send our account to collections because the next thing we know, we were receiving calls from a collection agency for a $32 bill that had somehow ballooned to $240! Apparently according to the collection agency Cochise ENT wanted us to pay interest for the year that they waited to bill the insurance company. It's their fault they waited so long to bill. We called Dr Teruel's office (Cochise ENT) and tried to straighten this out and offered to pay in full including any interest incurred for the 4 months that the bill hadn't been paid but all they kept saying was it was out of their hands, they can't take any money from us (what kind of business refuses to take payment in full from its clients?) and we would have to deal with the collection agency (what kind of business prefers their clients give money to a collection agency rather than take it themselves?). Dr Teruel and Cochise ENT are simply unprofessional. His business practices and office policies regarding insurance billing and payments are highly suspicious particularly since they seem in such a hurry to send your account to collections after only sending you one bill. Dr Teruel owns and practices at Cochise Ear Nose & Throat and while he might be a good doctor, his office policies and office staff have ensured that neither my husband nor I will ever go there again and would not recommend them at all. There are other ENT doctors in Sierra Vista and the surrounding area who will work with you when it comes to insurance billing and payments. The hassle that Cochise ENT caused us is not worth it.

Be very careful if you use this clinic, as their billing/insurance practices are VERY suspicious…read moreand warrant review. After obtaining a medical hearing exam from a physician showing that I need hearing aids, I contacted Sonoran ENT for an appointment to discuss purchasing the devices from them, as they are a "preferred" provider for my insurance company and my insurance would cover $5000 in cost for the aids with no "out of pocket" to me. Sonoran ENT office staff informed me at the time I made my appointment that they would charge me $100 for my appointment, but that amount would be credited to the cost of the hearing aids when I purchased them. My appointment with the audiologist consisted of her showing me a brochure with her recommended choices and the costs of those options (all in excess of $4,000). When I told her that my insurance would pay up to $5,000 towards the cost, she warned me that often they (Sonoran ENT) are only paid $3,100 by insurance companies, and since that amount does not cover the entire cost of the hearing aids, the customer must sign a document at the time of ordering stating that they will pay the balance. I left the clinic and immediately contacted my insurance company and verified with them that my benefits would cover the cost of the hearing aids up to $5,000. The insurance representative called Sonoran ENT and spoke to the office manager to assure her that my policy would pay for hearing aids costing up to $5,000. The office manager informed the insurance representative that they (Sonoran ENT) are only willing to invoice my insurance for $3,100, and if I want to buy the hearing aids, I need to sign the document promising to pay the balance out of pocket (which in this case would be a minimum of about $1,400). The office manager stated that if I am not willing to do that, then I should not buy my hearing aids from them. What I learned is that it is not my insurance company putting the lower benefit amount on my purchase. It is Sonoran ENT manipulating the process to benefit their bottom line. Also, I paid $100 to Sonoran ENT to be shown a brochure and to be told: "Sorry, we will only take part of what your insurance will pay for hearing aids, and you have to pay us the balance." Make sure you ask questions up front about their billing practices. I feel completely cheated out of $100. I did immediately contact another clinic in town who was more than happy to contact my insurance provider to verify the $5000 coverage amount and to fit and sell me a pair of hearing aids that are priced within that benefit amount and will be paid 100% through my policy. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! There is something fishy with the insurance billing process being conducted by Sonoran ENT.

However, this place changed my mind about that, they are so kind and helpful and nonjudgmental. I felt sick during an appointment and the staff with the extra mile to make sure that I felt OK enough to get through the appointment without any shaming or rushing me! I highly recommend this practice and will be returning, I had a fantastic experience with the doctoral student there as well.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Sonoran ENTA was disappointing from beginning…read moreto end. The front desk set the tone. The check-in process felt cold and impersonal, and I did not feel welcomed as a new patient. My appointment with the audiologist, however, was excellent. He was professional, personable, took time to ask thoughtful questions, explained what he was seeing during the examination, and made me feel comfortable throughout the hearing evaluation. Based on my testing, I have only slight bilateral hearing loss, which was reassuring. Unfortunately, my interaction with Dr. Kang could not have been more different. He entered the room, told me there is no cure for tinnitus, suggested masking the sound with something like a sound pillow, mentioned that hearing aids might help, asked if I had any questions, and left. The entire interaction lasted only a few minutes. There was no meaningful discussion about my symptoms, possible contributing factors, medications, lifestyle considerations, additional diagnostic work-up, treatment options beyond masking, or what to expect moving forward. I left feeling like I had received little more than a generic script. The biggest surprise came at checkout. I was billed for a comprehensive audiology evaluation and a Level 4 new patient office visit. When I asked the front desk to explain why the physician visit was billed at that level, no one could provide a clear explanation beyond saying that I had seen two providers. I later spoke with the practice administrator hoping for clarification. Rather than addressing my concerns about whether the billing accurately reflected the brief physician encounter, I was simply told that the billing was "allowed." That response completely missed the point. My concern was never whether something was technically permissible--it was whether the services I received justified the level of billing. Patients deserve transparency, thoughtful care, and confidence that they are being billed appropriately for the services they actually receive. Sadly, I left with none of those. The audiologist deserves five stars for his professionalism. My overall experience with the physician encounter and the practice's handling of my concerns, however, leaves me unable to recommend this office.

We were able to schedule an exam a week or two later. No problems. My office experience was wonderful with the exception of a long wait to have the testing performed. My appointment was for 8:00, I immediately filled out all the paperwork, but waited to get in until about 8:45. Otherwise, everyone was very pleasant, the test was thorough and I was given a nice printout of the results. The doctor spent plenty of time with me afterwards explaining the results and what my options were. Overall, very happy with them and I will likely be back next year for another exam.

While reading through friends' reviews I found a review about an ENT. It made me want to review my…read moreENT. Well, Dr Tilsner is a past-middle-aged man who reminds me of the scary veterinarian from Beethoven. Although nice, he looks scary. He answers all my ridiculous hypothetical questions and makes me feel like he could sit and talk with me all day. Every little room in his office has an ear vacuum. If you have never had an ear vacuum experience, go infect your ear so that you can experience this amazing little sucky machine. And sucky is an adverb, not an adjective. It does not suck in the sense that suck means it is bad. It sucks like a vacuum sucks, because this is a vacuum. An ear vacuum. The tip is slightly smaller than a Q-tip and it just sucks out the puss or wax or whatever else people have on and in their ears. It also has a see through tube leading to the canister so you can watch your puss flow from your ear to the floor. Dr Tilsner's practice is made up of a set of small rooms in the San Rafael area of the Carondolet medical park. They gave me very clear directions over the phone but I did not believe that it could be that easy to find this place. So instead of doing what the lady said over the phone, I drove in a giant circle around the park until I finally gave up on trying to make my journey more difficult and decided to park where the lady told me to park and go where the lady told me to go.
