I have been with this bank for over 20 years and lately they have went down hill ATM efficiency wise. The machienes are rarely fully functional for example it is common for the deposit functional to be unavailable. The machiene on the side of the Ceres PD rarely works at all. This bank also sits on deposits for days before releasing it all. If you want an efficient bank switch to Wells Fargo where they can back their money enough to give youba larger portion of your deposit. read more

I've been doing strictly online banking for years. I opened a new account with an online bank and upon my first deposit, they restricted the account and after 4 calls I didn't have any updates at all. I paid to have that check stopped and re-issued. I opened accounts today with Account Representative Faviola Orozco. Seamless process, start to finish done in less than 30-45 minutes. Faviola was friendly, informative and thorough. I had barely sat down after signing in and she escorted me to her cubicle and opened 3 accounts in that timeframe. Excellent representative of the Credit Union. read more

This Credit Union in Horrible. Went to use the ATM and the ATM took my Debit Card and Wouldn't release it.

One star because why are both of the atm machines not working? This is horrible! It's after hours and I cannot withdraw or deposit from their ATM! Very inconvenient! Fix this problem! read more

This bank is THE WORST BRANCH for customer service. I always enjoy my banking experiences UNLESS i have to go into this particular branch. The women tellers are ALWAYS rude to other women especially, and the female manager is the same, its unfortunate because the branch on 6th Street downtown Modesto is extremely helpful and always willing to satisfy the customer whereas the series branch seems to do everything and anything to not take care of the customer. I have literally been denied certain services at the Ceres branch and then drove to the downtown branch and had my services satisfied with no problem..hhhmm wonder why? They definitely need some changes in staff or better customer service training. read more

I have a been a member of this bank for almost 20 years. Something has changed in the past year and service has gone horribly downhill. I have had to open up a new checking account with a separate bank for all my self-employment income because this bank in Valley first would argue and hold the self-employment income checks. Again that only started about a year ago before that they would never hold or self-employment income as long as any of the personal checks weren't over $2000. But now even when just getting an $800 check they want to hold it. Then today I went in with a $1200 check from my school-checks that I deposited and cleared many times before and explain to them that I really need the money & if they could waive the hold. They refused. Now I don't have money to pay for gas to get to work or pay for my tuition. Just for comparison - Years ago when I had a $2000 personal check and needed some money to pay rent from it they did not hold it. They waived the hold for the rent amount. I know managers at branches can wave holds. This is probably only the second time I have ever asked them to waive a hold because of an emergency. Now I realize I am not a person to them anymore and just a member with a number. I don't know what happened and why it went so wrong. One thing I didn't notice when filing a complaint is that as of 2022 Valley first has a class action lawsuit against them for discrimination. read more

I truly love valley first credit union. I really have to go inside but when I do I am greeted with a smile and professionalism. I would've given it five stars but the lines are always pretty long and a lot of times the ATMs drive-through or walk up aren't working. Recently VF had all (not just this branch) their servers go down so i was unable to use my debit card ALL day! How inconvenient, I even went in branch to make payments and withdraw money the line was huge and the service was bad. I was unable to pull out the amount of money i wanted AND they gave me the hardest time when I was trying to make my visa payments. It made my day so much harder especially for someone who doesn't bank with any one else so I had no money available for me that whole day. read more

Long wait times on the phone for customer service. 15+ minutes EVERY time. Discount tickets offered...the computer system just so happened to be down when buying Disneyland tickets so we lost the $300 discount. They did catch fraudulent charges quickly and reimbursement only took a few days. Still waiting for a replacement card though read more

One of the best Banks I've ever had. I do direct posit I get paid one day earlier than everyone of my friends that works with me. They have really good checking programs. They have one checking account where if you spend $200 you get eight dollars back that month. And I can go to any ATM machine and withdraw money and not get charged any fees. Up to 35 dollars. I have always loved banking with Valley First and have been a member for 15 years and also had a car loan through this bank. However Saturday I went in to Ceres branch and Destiny Rubalcaba was the worse experience I have ever had at a bank. Not only did she disregard what was very difficult to explain but she made me feel embarrassed that I inquired about a fee reversal. I was made to feel as small as an ant. We can all go through tough times I just truly hope she can treat the next person with a little kindness and empathy. I have since started to look at other banking options. read more

I have an account at this credit union but I would never recommend it. They are making decisions on my account and with my money. If it's my money, I will make my own decisions. If I want them to act like security dogs with my money, I will make that decision. They think it's their money and no longer will I let them use MY money for their gain. The supervisor (Joanna) and customer service I spoke with are like a robots reading a script, e.g., "I know how you feel", I understand your concerns" when they really don't. It's my money and I will be closing my account after the Memorial day weekend. Very poor customer service. read more

The ATM is constantly down at this location, so there's usually a line all the way to the door. The ladies are nice, but if you don't have 15 or 20 minutes to wait, or need cash after the bank is closed, you're going to be out if luck as they refuse to put working atm outside. read more

Not sure why this lady's complaining but I've had a checking, savings and credit card account with Valley First for 7 years now and EVERY single time I go in, no matter how bad my account may look, they've never made a face or treated me any different after seeing my financial state like other places. The staff is always friendly and easy to talk to I seriously couldn't ask for a better credit union all I wish is the withdrawal limit on the atm and debit to be higher is all, but that has nothing to do with branch location.
