    Received grocery order!
    Ashley L.

12/7/24 Ham breakfast burrito ordered with extra hot sauce on the side. The worker was a little hard to get to, but it worked out. Said it would be ready shortly later and I went to get it. Arrived and it was ready. Paid for and the worker was kind. I went looking to see about wine for tomorrow and they have a small selection, but I found a good one. Checkout after that and added a Twix cookie dough bar to split sometime. The worker was kind at checkout. Happy Sunday everyone! Got breakfast ready and burrito split! My half was really good! Tasty hot sauce too. Just tiny cubes of ham and French fries for the potato. I'm sure mother will feel the same when she gets up to have hers. Good service, breakfast burrito and store! Recommended!

Fresno has an abundance of Mexican restaurants and Taquerias and the two most OVERRATED places that everyone seems to love is El Premio Mayor and La Mananitas. However, I'd like to introduce you to Valley Food Taqueria and their delicious food. The most disgusting and most dissappointing Mexican food I had was from the taqueria in Vallarta on Dakota and Cedar. I don't know how a Mexican grocery stores messes up Mexican food, but they did. I still remember when Valley Food was just an empty building. I've been to their taqueria 3 or 4 times. Their prices are like Robertito prices, but they do have specials. I came here a few times on my lunch because it was close to work. However, everytime I came, they took a very long time. One time I got nachos and the guy took forever to cut the tortillas into triangles and fry them. It was nice to have fresh food, but I only have 30 minutes lunch and was left with only 5 minutes to eat. I occasionally stop by to grab a ready made salad or frozen foods if I don't feel like going to get fast food. I also like that they have both Asian and Mexican knick knacks. Recently, I had their Chorizo breakfast burrito. The picture shows that it comes with veggies for $6.99. However, it comes with only meat, cheese and eggs and it is an extra $1 to add potatoes. I hope they fix that false advertisement soon. Besides a picture of a breakfast burrito consisting of ingredients it doesn't have, I enjoyed every bite of my burrito. I also had to add this, recently went in and got 5 burritos for me and 4 of my coworkers. I got one add potatoes, 2 add potatoes and no cheese, 1 no cheese add pot with sour cream. The other with cheese, add pot and sc. I asked literally a few times if these burritos came with beans. I was told a few times they came with beans because everyone wanted beans. None of our 5 burritos had beans. Flour- Soft and rolled thin. The tortilla was thin, but held the meat cheese and potatoes very well. None of my food fell out. I used to fold burritos for a living and I sucked at it. Whoever folded this burrito is a magician. Eggs- I love a soft scrambled egg and the eggs in here were perfecfly soft scrambled. Chorizo- It had a red seasoning on it, but it didn't stick togetherness, you can tell it was perfectly cooked because it didn't clump together. You can tell the meat was separated. Cheese- perfectly melted inside burrito. Flavor- I've had very salty and very bland breakfast burritos and this was perfect. The best way I could describe this burrito is that is was good and pillowy filled with delicious fillings. Potatoes- Cooked perfectly, nice and soft. Service- The girl who took my order was extremely friendly, they even gave me a sample of their chips and housemade salsa. It was very good. However, not spicy enough for me. Something I think would be perfect for my Yelp friends, Lila and Stephanie. Salsa- I asked for their spicier salsa which is the red one and it went perfectly with my burrito. It was not unbearable, but had a good kick. I saved it because I had extra so I can put it on whatever I have for lunch tomorrow. Lol. It's become one of my most frequented places. The breakfast burrito is easily top 5.

It's been a few months and we are now regularly at this store. The produce has stayed reasonably priced, thank you! They have added beer and wine to their inventory as I hoped and I am so pleased to say they have the best price in town on our favorite General Sherman local beer. The wine selection is just ok but they do have some sparkling-type wine coolers I've never heard of. They were a little sweet for me (of course I had to try them lol). We have also tried their hot food counter a bunch more times. They now sell their meats, beans, rice and salsas in larger to go containers so we (way too) often pick up a pound or two of carnitas, beans, rice, and tortillas and we have enough dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day for like $25. I've never seen the brand of tortillas they sell but they are good, the while family likes them (we are picky about tortillas). One of my favorite things at this little store, though, is the little strawberry cheesecake for $4.50 in the fridge case. It's a frequent treat for my daughter and me.

checked out the new grocery store yesterday. I'm so happy it's finally opened. Ive been waiting a long time lol I was expecting a boutique style store, but it's more like a mini Vallarta . Which is still great. Got some shrimp with the head on, fresh queso fresco. Got a half pound of asada and lengua from the taqueria to try it out. Lengua was perfect. Asada was a bit dry and chewy, but I wud order again. The store is Super clean and organized. Great prices. Will be back soon! Asada fries are really good! Spicy salsa is not only spicy but also flavorful. Will order again and again! Ordered asada fries again. This time with extra meat. So idk what happened but they put mayo in my asada fries. It was disgusting. It's supposed to be sour cream. So disappointed. Won't be going back.when I called the guy on the phone was like uh...u didn't want mayo in it?

    HORRIBLE!!!

Hands Down the worst Tacos EVER in my entire life. The meat had zero seasoning and was so burned/dry I think I was sitting on the grill since they opened. Think of chewing on plain beef jerky. I think the employee wanted to cover up how bad the meat looks/is with all the lazy chopped cabbage and cilantro leaves. This is all kinds of RED FLAGS probably would make you sick, so I'm gonna pass.

Really enjoyed the carnitas tacos here. I got the combo with three tacos rice and beans, it's less than $10. Totally worth it. Really soft corn tortilla and soft seasoned carnitas. It's different if you prefer crispy carnitas, it definitely still worth the try. The beans and rice are pretty good too, but nothing special. Definitely will be going back more often for lunch. Perfect if you work downtown; service is great. The inside is a market, there's no where to sit, so plan for takeout.

Valley Foods is a locally owned grocery/restaurant store. Located right in downtown Fresno, serving the nearby residents. I stopped by to get a drink and noticed this place isn't just your small convenience store instead it's got a little bit of everything for all your needs. Beside browsing around and getting my drink. I noticed the Taqueria in the back and decided to order an asada burrito. The burrito was on point, full of flavor and the asada was cooked just right to my liking. They also have other tasty items like tacos, hamburgers and breakfast too. I have to swing by again and try it next time. A drink visit turned into a lunch spot for me, so glad I stopped and will be returning again.

Good store, meat is good, the staff are nice, mostly, but the cashier girl is rude sometimes. Other than that, great store.

Visiting from out of town…read more I rarely buy bbq because as a Pitmaster the best bbq for me comes from my backyard. Well, you made me feel like I was in my backyard today. This is real deal bbq. Brisket was fantastic and the flat was almost as soft as the point (google brisket flat and point if you don't know). Ribs were a perfect bite off. Tri tip was cooked was cooked to my satisfaction and the flavor was great. I ate all my Cole slaw (trust me that means something) and the beans were fire!! Everything was pleasantly smoky. I looked for something to complain about, but I got nothin. I'll be back next trip Smoke on!

What's convenient is they have a posted paper at the front to tell you what they ran out of, so you know when you order. They ran out of their 2 cobblers, chicken lollipop (I usually find that they run out of this often) and pork belly today. Took 10 mins to get food after ordering. A good amount of spots to eat inside and outside. We ordered two 2-meat plates + cornbread. All in all, we had their brisket, burnt ends, tri-tip, and ribs + coleslaw, potato salad, Mac & cheese, and beans as sides. We've tried almost everything at earlier visits and burnt ends are still my fav. All meats are tasty with their special rub, as well as their OG bbq sauce on the burnt ends. No notes for any of the sides- just delicious! Also if you like some heat, definitely get their spicy BBQ sauce on the side. This will forever be my fav BBQ spot!
