If there was ZERO review I'd leave that !!!!!!My family had a deeply upsetting experience with Valley Forge Medical Center when my brother was admitted for inpatient care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were initially reassured that this was the best option for him and were told we'd be able to communicate with him regularly. That turned out to be completely untrue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once he was admitted, we had zero contact with him for days. Despite being listed as emergency contacts, my nephew and I called repeatedly--over 50 times in one day--and were either ignored, dismissed, or spoken to rudely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff made promises that were never followed through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only time my brother was allowed to call us was after we involved the police.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My brother has cognitive challenges, and this lack of communication was incredibly distressing for him and for us as his primary support system.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we attempted to discharge him, staff tried to stop him from leaving and withheld his belongings, claiming it would take another 24 hours to return them. The entire experience was chaotic, unprofessional, and completely lacking in empathy. If you care about your loved ones, I strongly urge you to think twice before choosing this facility. BIG BIG ZERO!!! Real broken place for really broken person!! Just did not work!! My stay was short. They had no blankets first night I was there second morning not even 5 min into my detox people screaming and yelling. Got into verbal disagreement. If you can handle adults that act 5. Staff being their baby sister or ignoring the problem. When I said I was leaving, they called me to the front told me I was pregnant. I am 53 and threw menopause. I also had no idea where anything was and missed breakfast and morning meds. I told the nurse I am first day detoxing. Nurse said sorry nothing I can do about it!! So all kinds of stupid shit happening to other folks. You try to ignore because I was there for me. ...some guy they lost his clothes, 20 min later a guy is walking around in the man's clothes. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could, DO NOT COME HERE, night time staff lefts patients die because there to busy sleeping or on there phones, place is disgusting covered in mold, there's only one working water machine that's on the third floor they continuously keep excepting special skilled patience when the facility is not equipped, or in the process of being able to maintain proper care for these types of patients if your loved one is struggling with addiction. I would never send them here. You can ask tons of other hospitals about the horror stories of Valley Forge Medical Center not only that, but the directors do nothing other than just to tell you sweet nothings and don't change any things that need to be changed. Policies and procedures are never being followed. Equipment isn't updated properly rounds aren't done properly, which is a legal problem. These patients are neglected day in and day out medical errors by the LPNs are almost done all the time sometimes there isn't even a supervisor or an RN when they're supposed to be during night shift, which is when it's the most vulnerable kitchen is dirty as well. You will find almost 10 years worth of paperwork behind the nursing station. They allow patients that are not yet patients of Valley Forge to come all the way behind the nursing station, which is such a risk for the employees and the patients there I would not come here. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is unresponsive, they ran out of bottles of water, and the meals were often late. It did not seem like a caring environment they just want the insurance money. Needless to say my stay was short. The place was under constant construction and there were trip hazards everywhere. It is not wheelchair accessable though many patients had wheelchairs. No elevator and my roomate was unable to go to groups even though he wanted to and many are left unhygienic due to lack of bathroom accessability. Ive already contacted the BBB. I would not suggest you even send a dog here which is ironic because they admitted someone with their long haired Chihuahua "service dog" a few days before I left. I've never seen a service dog bark or growl at people but I'm sure they verified the dogs paperwork.. just kidding I know they didn't and that wasn't even close to the worst part of my experience. Meals were frequently an hour or more late and one Saturday no kitchen staff showed up at all and we ate breakfast at 11:30 am and lunch at 3pm there were techs and counselors back In the kitchen who stepped up because the owners clearly do not care about safety or wellness of the patients. People in wheelchairs didn't have handicap accessible bathrooms a patient with one leg said their bathroom had a tub in it. There is construction going on all over the building wires hanging dust everywhere it cannot be legal what is going on in this place. Not even two weeks ago the joint commission made a surprise visit due to all the complaints AND THE VERY NEXT DAY they woke up everyone on the second floor( the 2nd floor is truly the ground level hence why everyone in a wheelchair is housed there) at 8am so people who are room bound, detoxing and in wheelchairs and told them they had 20 mins to get out of their rooms and couldn't go back in until 5pm and proceeded to demo the old floor and lay new floor there was dust sharp pieces of the old floor and god knows what being kicked up everywhere. Odd because the day before those floors were supposed to be done but the joint commission showed up so they sent the construction guys away. So clearly they are doing things all above board here. Two nights before I left they gave a patient the wrong blood pressure medication and they had a stroke which was the second stroke I saw during my 19 days there. The amount of seizures people have here is also horrifying because they are packing people in here a lot of them with serious medical conditions when they can't even take care of the people who are already there. Patients who were filling out grievances also would mysteriously get dropped by their insurance immediately after. I saw so many people get taken to homeless shelters because they just do not have the staff to help facilitate aftercare. I could truly keep going. I hope it doesn't take a patient dying here for the new owners to realize they are playing with peoples lives. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER LOOK INTO ANY ALTERNATIVES AVAILABLE TO THEM. This is not to say there is not some amazing staff here because there is but unfortunately their owners and leadership are so greedy they are willing to put everyone in the building at risk because they have no idea what their doing. I spoke with both Dana and Lexi in admissions multiple times over the course of weeks about bringing my 76 year old father in after he completed his physical rehab. We transferred his medical records, they spoke with the staff at his physical rehab center, he did the assessment and they approved him. I had told them that he wanted to go home in between to collect his things and get his house together before going to rehab. I asked if that was ok and they said it wasn't a problem (I believe it was Lexi who said that.) I call this morning, the day I told them I was planning on bringing him, to see if there was a bed available. They say that he should have come directly from his current rehab center to them, despite being made aware that he had planned to go home first and telling me that it was ok. Now the day I planned to bring him, they say it's an insurance issue and they can't take him. This is after WEEKS of multiple discussions and getting everything lined up. I am so unbelievably disgusted with them and their handling of this. We are also reaching out to a lawyer at this point. My father almost died from his recent bout of drinking. We are lucky he's still here and wanted to get him the help he needs. Here's hoping my father doesn't fall off the wagon again because THEY WOULDN'T GIVE HIM THE HELP HE NEEDS. My son was recently at the medical center with the hopes of getting the help he needed and starting a new chapter in his life. When he came to the intake he had a walker since this is a dual facility we are thinking there is no problem. Apparently, there must have been...then there is the issue of not getting straight answers from his counselor as well. I assumed these were trained personal to help these patients to overcome these disabilities as well as addictions. These patients have enough to deal with, they don't need the added confusion of the counselor giving mixed messages. I believed this was a facility that took pride in wanting to help their patients and give them the best advantage to make it once they were released, but to my dismay, my son's counselor sabotaged him. To me this was criminal, sending out to a facility that did not have the things she stated were there. I t takes a lot of strength to admit that you need the help.. When you finally ask for it and are ready to change your life, you need all the help and encouragement you can get. You certainly do not need your counselor to send you out to dry. She recommended this place called Mars.. stating it was a dual facility with intense programming as well as transportation to and from the facility. He was told when he got there a psychological exam would be performed to find the best program for his needs. When he got there.. he was told there are no doctors on the premises as well as no evaluation would be none and guess what? no transportation provided.. So MB.. This is on you..We will be looking for legal counsel as well as having the facility be evaluated. Please beware.. read more

Went for 5 day detox and it did what I needed to do, give me a pain free anxiety free withdraw. I didn't experience any discomfort, I slept fine and met a few interesting people. Dr Dupew-West is an amazing man! He cares, he listens and makes sure you are as comfortable as can be! The counselors are also phenomenal! They laugh and joke with you, they don't act as if they are above you, a few are in personal recovery for me that makes a big connection! You feel comfortable here! I can't stress that enough. As of 12/31/18 they are a NONsmoking facility. The admissions intake man Esteban is a wonderful man, very pleasant phone interview, very positive and always smiling! The techs are cool for the most part, Deedra and Charmaine were my absolute favorite girls! Ebony and Navi were always a little to friendly with the male residents it made me a little uncomfortable. The night shift techs are rude but other than them waking you up in the middle of the night for whatever reason you don't have much communication with them. I had the best roommate ever, I made a new lifetime friend! The food was eatable. Not 5 star. The dinner chef was very unpleasant. Overall I'd give them a 5, but giving them a 3 due to the techs and the food. If you're serious about your recovery I'd recommend! Best detox ever!! read more

This place will save your life..if your truly committed to your recovery. The staff is great and very attentive. I was there in 2011 for 21 days and the level of care and classes are unsurpassed. They also have a pain management class which i have not attended but ive heard such great things. The icing on the cake was the ranch houses. I had the privilege of getting sent there because i was serious about my recovery and gave the staff no problems. These houses consist of 2 houses on the campus one for male and female. Its 5 people to a home and you have a kitchen, flat screen, your own shower and bath. I have antisocial problems and being here made my stay so much more healing because it was only a few people and we all looked out for one another. It was so great. Im currently having alot of issues so im trying to get back there. If your looking for a place for healing and true support, look no further. God bless. read more
