I've been toying with the idea of buying new shoes (hoping that a new pair might help out my back/neck a bit). I decided to stop in to see if I could have my foot measured and get some suggestions for a new style to try. The shop was a little busy when I got there but Jim was able to help me. he measured my foot and asked a few questions about my lifestyle in order to recommend some styles that would work. Jim brought out a pair of Hoka Bondi 8 (a style i tried on a year ago at another running store) as well as a similar style by another company. I tried both pairs on and made my choice. I came here to support a local business. I needed new sneakers and came to see what the store carried. I wound up buying a full price pair of Hokas for $145. In two months the tread started falling off of them. When I went back to the store, they informed me that have seen this before in some of the Hokas and I would need to contact Hoka directly for my issue. So I did just that. Now I have to pay to ship my defective shoes back and wait weeks without any sneakers and then maybe they will give me credit to buy another crappy pair of Hokas on the Hoka website. I am very displeased and will never buy shoes anywhere but REI again. I learned my lesson the hard way. read more

Friendly knowledgeable staff. I did wait a while for the shoes I ordered, but it was worth it. They're extremely comfortable and fit well. I appreciate that they measured me first and I found out I've been wearing the wrong size. Which explains why the old sneakers bothered me after a few hours. I would highly recommend them as they know what they're doing. More and more sneakers are becoming a major part of our shoe wardrobe, it's important to be fitted correctly. read more

I have loved this store in the past. Their inventory seems small especially for women's clothing.

Been coming here for a few years now to get our shoes. Customer service is great and they really work at finding the right type of shoe for you. They have a machine there that you stand in that measures your feet, arches, etc. and this helps them determine the type of shoe that you need. They carry some brands that you don't find at the big box stores. They don't have as big of a selection as those big box stores, but we are always able to find something that we like. While I feel shoes are expensive, their prices are about in line with other stores and they have a customer loyalty program that gives you a discount after so many shoe purchases. They also sell other things in here like outfits, socks, etc. but we've only purchased shoes here. Will definitely continue coming back here for future pairs. read more

Sat 10/7 went to the Collegeville location to buy sneakers. As my wife and I entered a man with a hat and beard ask to help us. I epxlained that I would like to try the New Balance 880 in size 10. He said they were dropping the NB880 due to poor sales. He then came out with 10 1/2 and 11 but I have worn size 10 for the past 15-years. He said they run small and would suggest a larger size. I then said that does not work for me, and he reiterated they are being dropped. My wife looked at me and said let's go. So we left due to his poor customer service and very rough presentation. We then went to another local store in Phoenixville and we bought (3) pair of running shoes. (2) NB880 size 10 and (1) Ghost15 women's. FYI - New Balance is NOT dropping the 880 and your customer service was terrible. Good luck to you! We will neve be back. read more

I am so disappointed in the changes in this store after its change in ownership. First, they discontinued the reward program, one in which I had been accruing awards gradually over five years. Secondly, their staff has become far less thoughtful and much more bossy in their assistance of customers. A recent visit led to an employee overruling me on a model of shoes I've worn for years, in favor of another brand that, frankly, aggravated my fasciitis after two outings. At this point, I am not sure why I would patronize this store rather than Zappos or Amazon when the only thing that would bring me back there is wanting to shop local. If you are in the market for running apparel or shoes, THIS is the place to check out. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly and will take time to help you find a pair of sneakers that work for your foot type and running style. They are close to the Perkiomen Trail and have regular trail runs on Mondays, Saturdays and Thursdays as well. If you are training for a race they will also send you a postcard wishing you luck before or sending one congratulating you after. Definitely a place for runners of all types (beginners thru serious). read more

I walked in knowing nothing about running, but I wanted to start. This was exactly the place I was looking for. I was helped by a guy named Jeff. He looked at how I walked. He looked at how I ran. He asked about any past injuries. He examined my current shoes to see how they are worn down. With all this information, he brought a few different pairs. I tried them all on. I ran. A lot. Jeff even gave me some advice about my form and a few quick resources that I can look into for further advice. Ultimately it's up to me to decide which shoe felt the best. Oh, and I also have 30 days to make a return if it doesn't work out for me. This isn't a place that hands you some shoe that "is the best on the market." This is a place that looks at who you are individually in order to find a good fit. I've never made reviews before, and I literally made this account in order to share my experience. These guys are great. I bought my 3rd pair if NB 860. After running 5 or 6 times I realized the right shoe was not right. My foot moved within the shoe while running. They took the pair back, they rrmeasured my foot, and put me in another pair. No problems and they were happy to accommodate! I am a customer for life and would reccomend to anyone looking for quality running shoes and advise. read more

We stumbled , luckily, onto this store while trying to locate a particular sneaker brand. The woman who waited on us was very knowledgeable about sneaker fit, especially for the flat footed runner. If u are in serious need of a good fit , I would definitely go here. I don't know about price but we spent $110 on a pair of Sacouny (sp?) and felt the insight was worth the price. read more

I used to purchase from a local running store (NOT this store) to purchase my sneakers until the time I bought a different brand and after my first workout (a 5 mile power walk) I had horrible hamstring 'issues'. I took the shoe back, as the owner had stated I could, BUT got a lot of attitude. Fast forward to a 45 min drive from our home to eat at a small restaurant near a friend, I stumbled upon this running store. I was met with an enthusiastic manager/owner, while I was just browsing, and explained the previous 'situation' to him. He was clearly very knowledgeable about sneakers and fitting people with various concerns and encouraged me to bring the shoes in question to him to figure out what I really needed. He stressed they would never give me a hard time if I had any problems with my purchase. So I finally made another trip out there yesterday and, although I did not deal with the same gentleman I did the first time, received the same personable and knowledgeable service even though we arrive 15 minutes before closing. The didn't have my shoe size in stock, but ordered me a pair that I plan on going back to pick up in a week or so. Morale of the story... I would never hesitate to drive the 45 minute back to this store to get the sneakers I need. GREAT store, even better service! read more
