I guess the conversation was so thrilling that the other sales associate couldn't leave the desk to ask me if I'd like any help/customer service 101. Despite all their brands being available either direct through the store (Free People) or other retail shops (Nordstrom), I've committed to Something Else because it's run by a small business owner. Today, I was let down. I had scheduled a girls day with my mom which included shopping here. My mom had a few returns. Apparently it had been ~35 days since her purchase and the policy is ~21 days. I appreciate policy; however, I'm in the customer service business and fully recognize some instances require an exception. A few things to note: 1. It was very recent since the original purchase. 2. My mom alone spends a TON of money in this store - as do I, and her girlfriends, all of whom she has personally introduced the store to (in other words, she's always sending business to this company). 3. Upon pushback from the associates, we asked the girl to call the owner - Kristin. Kristin shockingly denied the return request (FOR STORE CREDIT) because of the "quick turnover of clothes on the floor". I actually buy into this logic - HOWEVER, WHAT MY MOM WAS RETURNING WAS, IN FACT, STILL ON THE FLOOR. It candidly felt like a bad canned response. I'm shocked they wouldn't make an exception for a (very) frequent customer. The girls behind the desk were also difficult when we were showing some store credit we have (which, incidentally, was given to us as a result of spending so much money there). At this point, we are struggling to find a reason to shop here. Big retailers have better sales, larger selections, and significantly better return policy. We used to shop here for the small business owner, but will not anymore as a result of how we were treated.

I met a sales woman who introduced me to the owner. When I said I was new in town both ladies were all over me with great customer service promising to contact me when new things came in etc.. That is until some ladies I assumed to be regulars walked in. I was left in the dressing room totally forgotten. When I came out it was as though I wasn't even there. I originally stopped in just to drop off a big clothing donation... but I ended up staying to shop! A few days each month their prices drop an extra 50% off, and I scored 7 items for just $24. Most pieces I grabbed were $4, and a few were only $1 even with original store tags still on them! This store feels nothing like a typical thrift shop. It's clean, beautifully organized, and has a real boutique vibe. The staff and volunteers are the best. They are friendly, welcoming, and genuinely excited to help you find unique items. They even went into the back and tried to find me some off season items for a trip. There are spacious fitting rooms, size-inclusive racks (I saw sizes 2-24), and everything is clearly priced and sorted. There is no rummaging here. They specialize in women's clothing and accessories, but they also have smaller sections for men, kids, and shoes. Plus, there's a lovely gold/silver jewelry case and plenty of fun costume jewelry. I can't recommend this place enough--whether you want to donate, shop, or both. I've already told several friends and can't wait to come back with them (and bring more donations!).
