In August of 2025 I was experiencing severe pain when urinating. I was traveling at the time so went here. I have a high deductible insurance plan so wanted to determine in advance what they would charge. I asked the receptionist what the fee to see a doctor would be and they were unable to provide even a general answer, telling me it depends on the negotiated rate with insurance. Sure, that seems to be common, but I thought they should still have some sort of idea on the approximate price of a visit. They did tell me it would be higher as a new patient and provided the phone number for their billing department. So I called their billing department, and got essentially the same answer: we don't know. Really? I was surprised they couldn't give me any ballpark idea whatsoever, and pressed further for some kind of number. I was finally told it could be somewhere around $350 for a first visit. That seemed high, but I was in pain so checked in. The doctor who saw me was very professional and nice, and service was good, HOWEVER, when the bills started to arrive, I was stunned. They billed over $480 for the visit, and my plan covered $110 so I was on the hook for $370 - which I paid. Now, here's where the real shock came in. There was lab work run on my urine, to look for an infection. This was apparently handled by HealthTraxRX. The price for their services added more than $630 to the bill! There were over 17 fees. Five of those fees were for specific tests, and had individually distinct medical billing numbers. But the bulk of the bill was for 12 instances of the same medical code number and all billed at $35. My insurance provider rejected all of them. Medical practices that can't give a good faith estimate of their costs and fees before service should probably be avoided if you can go somewhere else.

One minute late coming out of the clinic and the cops have already slobbered all over your car and left an EXPENSIVE parking ticket. They could be out catching meth dealers, since it IS METH-FORD, but they'd rather target low income women trying to get healthcare. My mom was a Medford cop. She got bumped down to meter maid because of her crappy attitude. Sound familiar officer? In conclusion: Planned Parenthood of Medford is Good! Cops=Bad. Always Bad.

She openly mocked pronouns when I was walking to my room, I heard her using racial slurs and she mocked a fellow coworker when their backs were turned when I was checking in. This all happened within a 3 minute period. I asked for her name before leaving because of how awful the encounter was. I would demand a new medical assistant if you get her. Horrific experience. Her enthusiasm for making certain that she listens to the patient and truly understands the issues is rare and much appreciated. I have taught nursing and advanced nursing practice and Niki exemplifies the best of what I hope my former students have achieved. As a result of Niki's interest and interventions, the problem I had is now greatly reduced and more under control. I believe I have a true advocate in Niki and am so very pleased we have connected. When the occasion arises, and someone asks for a recommendation, I will rapidly suggest they schedule an appointment specifically with her. I have been a patient here for several years now. But not anymore because they will not see me…read moresince they became part of the Asante group because they don't take medicare advantage plan. They have said that because I won't change my insurance to one they accept they can no longer see me even though I do have medicare. I offered to pay cash for visits but they said that they still can not see me because I still have medicare. I have a perscription that has no refills left on it and I have no way to get it filled. It really sucks because there are no other gastroenterology providers in the Medford area. I was told that there were approximately 200 patients they dropped because of the insurance we have. Pretty sad when they think it is okay to drop us if we don't change our insurance to one they accept. I will never go to any Asante facility or recommend it to anyone at all in the future. Not a good look for a regional hopital at all.

The people at the front desk have always been polite and welcoming to me. The staff has always treated me well. My PA, Julie Bogden, is wonderful. I find that if I schedule an early appointment I am usually seen more quickly. If your appointment is after eleven o'clock you may find yourself waiting for some time before you see the doctor. Emergencies happen and patients sometimes take more time than expected. But they don't rush you through and they have always treated me well.

That is when their problems and discomfort really began. After interacting with the staff and physicians at this organization I am much more confident that there is good health care to be found in Southern Oregon. I and my friend have learned more about cancer, its' treatment and what to expect from said treatment from the nurses here than from any other person or resource available. They treat their patients with a kindness, compassion and consideration that I have never, ever seen before. Truly amazing people treating even more amazing people. The doctors are thorough and professional. They take time to make sure all their patient's questions are answered (you just have to know what to ask!) Brought to the Asante Health System by OHSU in 1999, it is a regional resource for basic and clinical cancer research into new methods of diagnosis and treatment.
