Picture this...my family and I have 2 weeks to find a place to live, make that less than a week by the time we think to come to Valley King for help finding a place. We sit down with Scott have a couple laughs fill out some paperwork, pay a little fee to get things going...and then reality settles in for me.... credit needs a facelift, rental history has had some work done so no problem there, income has seen better days and working off one not two but I think its doable..... I was worried. We seriously needed a place I was honest about all I had going on and what I could afford but also did not wanting to live in a dump just because I had not won the lottery yet. Scott was honest with me, ran some numbers and gave me two places to go see...I know what you're thinking...2 places!?? But I had none when I walked in. I wish that this dialog ended with us getting some extravagate and luxury home with all the bells whistles and upgrades but that NOT this story. BUT I will say Scott got us in touch with a place that was in a neighborhood I always wanted to live in, the space is what I call "cozy", it had some previous upgrades but more importantly it is clean, safe, and something I can afford. Bottom line I went from having no place to go in time, to getting in right on time with Scotts help and if you have ever been homeless then you know what a blessing it is to have a place to call home! Scott is the best! He was fast. I met with him twice at the office 30 mins the 1st day and about 15 mins after that to get apts to go see. The process was SO fast. He ran my credit and evaluated my income. He asked what were my top 3 must haves in the apt I was looking for. I told him location, price, and 2 bathrooms. He worked on that. When I came back, he had 3 possibilities. The 1st apt in the list was EXACTLY what I was looking for and the apt I ended up taking. He nailed it!! I'm happy with my new place. It's closer to my granddaughter's elementary school, $425 cheaper per month, has 2 bathrooms, w/d, volted ceilings, updated kitchen double the size where I was before, 100 Sq ft more space!! I called Valley King Properties in Mesa at exactly 9:06am on today of 2-3-22. I spoke with Ron. I was looking for someone who could possibly help me find an apartment in the East Valley. Ron listened to what I was looking for then instead of saying let's set you up for an appointment. Ron lied and said " I got another call coming through let me call you back." First of all there was no way Ron could call me back because he never took my number down. So I immediately knew then Ron was just lying and didn't have any interest whatsoever of helping me. I was extremely hesitant to try Valley King, when in the past, I was literally left high & dry- no one ever TRIED or opted to follow up. I gave them another chance after a personal referral lead me to Ashley. I am SO glad I opted to try again! She was FANTASTIC! For a Saturday- it was very busy. I made an appointment, but walked in to find that there were still several waiting ahead, and they were definitely swamped! But, was promptly greeted, handed the initial paperwork & the wait time was less than 10 minutes after getting my paperwork filled out. I also noticed the walk-in's didn't have to wait too long to be helped, either. They really seem to have their routine together at this location! And, now I can understand why the return phone calls for inquiries aren't so consistent- they truly ARE very busy! I was very impressed with Ashley and her incredible demeanor in working with exactly what would suit me best! The entire process took less than an hour. But, I also had all my documents lined up & any payments necessary, ready to handle transactions as needed. I suggest that tip for anyone else- make sure you have your pay stubs, cash for credit inquiry & exact criteria lined up to help make everything go efficiently! Anything you have on hand for an immediate deposit, should you be presented with a perfect fit, is also a good idea! In my case, I had a couple days to get my ducks in a row. But, this is also good to know for the future. We chatted about a couple of options. One was great, just not the right fit or price range for my needs. But, it's like she magically had the perfect place for me already in line & ready to go! It was a bummer the manager couldn't be contacted at the time of my appointment, but she had me set to go view on a Monday, before opening hours, on my way to work. And really, it worked out perfect! The manager was waiting for me that morning, I viewed, liked, filled out the application & got the ball rolling within an hour! It's still a couple weeks out until the big move, but I'm really excited! Mostly, I'm extremely grateful for the referral to Ashley, and her helping me find a great fit for my next chapter! I highly recommend giving VKP a try (make an appointment!!!) and ask for Ashley, if she is available! I felt very comfortable during our meeting & extremely confident in everything upon walking out the door. After a Property Manager gave me a flyer, I reached out to "The Valley King" online. I provided the information on what I was looking for as far as a rental. The next day, he called me and left a msg on my vmail. Because of my job, my schedule is constantly changing. Also, I work nights and weekends. And sleep during the day. I returned his call as soon as I was able to. No answer, so I sent him a text message explaining that for the reasons stated above, it is best to reach me via email. No response. Not even as a courtesy to confirm he received my message. This was 3 weeks ago. That was a red flag right away. If a business person does not have the minimum professionalism to show some courtesy, then I want nothing to do with that person or business. Period. read more

I went here 2 years ago. I needed to find a place that same day & I had 2500 cash & I forgot this guys name but he found me a place while I was there. Think I spent an hour tops. I was expecting to stay with fam for a couple days cuz I moved out literally that morning ..... so about 3pm he called me & told me to call the office and make arrangements. I was referred to this company by an apartment community who had no availability and the leasing agent thought they might be able to help. She gave me the number for Dale, an agent for Valley King. I called Dale and left a voicemail and I received no reply. I thought, perhaps, that Dale was no longer with Valley King so I gave them another chance. I visited their website and after calling a few numbers on the site for various agents, I finally got ahold of Larry. Larry was curt and abrupt with me, seemed less than interested in helping me at all, and told me the office was closed and to call the main number in the morning and tell them that Larry sent me to them and he could help me later. Okay, Larry, no thanks. I called the main office number anyway the next day, but I did not mention rude Larry (who probably shouldn't have even answered his phone if he wasn't prepared to help me and give me some degree of customer service) and spoke to two women instead. The first woman who answered the phone was pleasant, took down some general information and transferred me to Betty (I'm not 100% sure that was her name but I think that was it). Betty was not especially friendly but not rude. It was fine, I don't mind a direct person, just get done what needs to get done and we're good. She took down my information, what I was looking for, and said she would email me so I could tell her more specifics on what I wanted and she could start sending me listings. I never got the e-mail. That's a strike three for me. The market might be crazy right now but I'd rather navigate it alone than deal with the runaround from these people. read more

So i went there to rent a place and obviously i need their services cause my stuff isn't put together 100 percent and the way they talked to me was not very customer friendly. I told them I'm around 2000 every two weeks ave i was at 1960. He told me I'd be lucky to get a studio. Just avoid the 12 dollars and someone treating you a certain way cause you need them and use apartment hunters or call yourself. We were actually referred to Valley King by an apartment place that we had gone to that we were not quite a great fit at, and told to ask for Scott. We were in the office for about a half hour filling out forms, etc., before he sent us out to look at three places. We never made it past the first place he sent us...it was a perfect fit. Let me start off by saying I've use this company service three times prior and it's always been a fast easy and smooth process but unfortunately I walked into this location and got stuck with Adrienne, super unprofessional from the get-go expects you to sit at her desk for 30 minutes while she goes to the back to pretend like she's working for you but she's really just gossiping about you to her coworkers and making personal calls and then gets mad plays the victim, and asks you to leave when you confront her for it. Also make sure shes gives you your change for the $15 fee because she will try to keep it if you're not paying attention. "Oh i forgot it in the back" yeah right. Again, I've been with this company before, so I know how simple it can be when you get an agent who actually cares about their job and works with integrity not some ghetto chick who just wants to run her mouth, take my advice and avoid the this location on southern and just go 3 miles down the street to the one on Dobson where the staff is 1000 times more professional and actually wants to help you out read more

I was in Mesa from Los Angeles helping my niece find an apartment. We were not having any luck looking for apartments and was told by an apartment manager to call Scott at Valley King. Everything change for the better when we met Scott. We learned that looking for an apartment in the Phoenix area an apartment locator is essential. Scott found 2 apartments in our price range and location. The first apartment we saw was perfect and my niece was moved in two days after we saw it. After a long day of touring different apartments, I found my self frustrated by the time it took to find the right place that fit my budget, and driving distance to work. One of the apartments I toured gave me a pamphlet to Valley King Properties. I was hesitant at first, and searched the internet for horror stories, or hidden fees. I didn't come across any I gave them a call and worked with a remarkable Realtor named Dale. We sat down reviewed the criteria, and I got exactly what I wanted. Dale knows the industry, and has a good work ethic. I would recommend Valley Kind Properties, and if Dale is available he would be a quality choice for a realtor to work with. read more

Contacted the Phoenix office, talked to a "Kanal" (not too sure of spelling) and he never got back to us, unless we called or texted HIM, and he kept promising to get back to us with info on properties. The last was yesterday, 2/8/19, said he would text back, but it never happened. At one point he said he "lost" my son's number, but he still had mine. He said he would look for properties in north and central Phoenix, and also said he could look in other East Valley areas for us. Nada. Always excuse after excuse. Hmmmm this place is very interesting. I was referred by a friend who said that this place can get me a place since she knew I was stressing on my own. After reading the reviews i was confident this place was going 2 get me placed! U walk in n they have u fill out an application / information sheet. It asks what ur reasonable wants are, area you would like to be in & what's the max you can spend. I already knew what I want was going 2b hard 2 find - if after my search on my own wz unsuccessful. Now ny thing is... My budget wz $515-$525, searching 4 a home that wz a min of 5'125'12 square ft, be a plus w/a washer / dryer in the apt but not necessarily & 2b more of the border of Tempe / Mesa line. I personally did not think my expectations were bad or unattainable. Now apparently this is where a problem came n2 play. Scott looked ova my info n called a few places, got some info, jotted the info on my sheet, asked if I'd be willing 2 consider near the 202 & I said yes. Scott then says that he only has a few places in Mesa that fit in my budget. He then tells me "Are you sure u cant pay more a month?" I kinda of laughed & told him verbally $515-$525. His response was "If you can push ur amount to a lil more like $560-70 I can get you something better." Granted I know they are there 2 help us but really? ????? So my answer was "If I could afford that amount then I wouldn't need his assistance now would I?" Needless 2 say I was upset!!!! The following Friday I called Scott 2 see if he was able to find me something. Scott said he found 2 places but I was going 2 have 2 spend $560-70 w/all utilities included. Scott was not comprehending what my budget was n that the electric bill fluctuates depending on the months, completely overlooking what I told him what my budget is and trying to get me 2 live in the opposite side of town!!! We got n2a a yelling match basically me telling him what part of my budget does he not understand n that was the of that location. Stress upon stress is not needed is all I can say about my experience. .1 star is just 2b able 2 put my input on this place. Definatly would not recommend anyone to use this locating service. They do not call you back and when you go down in person they said another would contact me which never did so. The one I tried to use was one by the name of Amy welch wich at the beginning seems very reasonable to help you but is totally the opposite. It's kinda funny that going to another service (apartment finders on Gilbert and southern ) with in 10 min of talking to them I had 3 plcs to go view but in 2 1/2 weeks nothing from this vkp services. I have been trying to find a place on my own which I have not have success. I went into the office cause my lease is up and I want to be in a place at least by the 25th of this month. My friend recommended this place i they are all over craigslist as well. I went in there filled out there 1 page application. I was with the agent all of 15 mins I paid the $10.00 which I already knew what was on their. She pulled out 4 binders Tempe....Phx.... Mesa and nothing. I completed a 2 year lease current and 1 full year prior so thats 3 years solid rental history also I work i make 17.20 an hour and i recieve child support. I also have a $800.00 money order ready to go. All she gave me was 2 apts..which neither was what I needed .. lost clueless and so pissed I drove alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to Tempe from the West side for absolutely nothing. I came here over 5 years ago and nothing and after my super short 15 min meeting nothing again.... Negative on referring and undone about the lies they say WE PLACE EVERYONE IN A place to live ....Still hunting on my own !! read more

Ashley Atencio was very helpful. I was referred to her by an apt complex I was interested in but the square footage available did not work for me considering it did not offer a washer/dryer in unit. I met Ashley on a call and walk in basis. She accepted a meeting with me within 10 mins of calling her. She listened to my needs, where I looked, what I liked. At the time I had no idea if I would end up on the east, or north Scottsdale because of a decision on a new job opportunity. She pointed me to two apt locations that I was extremely happy with and loved. They were perfect! However, I ended up being offered the Scottsdale opportunity. She referred me to her sister that specializes in north phx region once I said I needed to be as close to work as feasibly possible.
