This place used to be a solid urgent care facility for appointments and walk ins. Used it frequently in the past and was hoping for the same when I arrived today. Not sure what's happened here but this place has gone downhill significantly. Arrived to an empty waiting room with ear pain. Was hoping to be seen quickly. The front desk mentioned they would see me "right away" ... 1 hour and 20 minutes later and no word from anyone (???). I checked back in with the front desk and they saw me 3 minutes later. There was literally no one in the waiting room but 3 front desk clerks and zero (0) patients. Not sure what's Dr. Solomon's hold up was or whether the front desk forgot about me. Today the front office staff, including the nurse who checked me in, made me feel as though I was inconveniencing them. Then my husband, who was in the waiting room, overheard the nurse and the front desk staff speaking negatively about me, making a joke out of my general practitioner's name and commenting on my arrival time. To clarify, I signed in on the website check-in list and was not given a specific appointment time. This is a walk-in urgent care, and there were no other patients waiting, so the issue is unclear to me. While the doctor was kind and professional, the behavior of the office staff significantly detracted from the overall experience. read more

Valley Medical group is the most unorganized unprofessional Drs office I have even experienced .. May I add also they are the most uncaring Dr's and medical group ever!!! I've been a regular patient at this practice for many years. Sadly, even though the providers are great, some of the office staff spoils it for everyone. The latest example, yesterday I called at 12:55 pm when I tested positive for Covid at home. I needed a prescription for antivirals. I explained that I am a regular patient of Dr. Flowers, and that I have multiple health conditions that put me at greater risk for severe complications of Covid. I was willing to come in to be tested, see a provider, or do a virtual visit to show them my home test results. She told me NO. Said that they were closing at 4pm, and since it was already almost 1pm, they would not do any more testing for the day. I was shocked. I called more than 3 hours before they were closing! What kind of medical care is this? I asked her what people are supposed to do, go to the ER? She condescendingly said, "oh yes, that's a terrific idea! Definitely go to the ER." It may have been unfair to post what I did as I did it in anger. My over all experience with Valley Health in Riverdale NJ over the years has been tested. But my wife and I had been pretty loyal until a recent issue that could have been prevented. And I will say that for the most part the physicians are genuinely helpful and care about their patient's. But my recent experience at the location on 23 in Wayne just pushed me over the top. I understand being a new location has it's challenges. But scheduling appointments shouldn't be a toss of point. Rescheduling my appointments 6 times in less than two weeks because the technician kept changing their availability is unreasonable. Especially when it creates static with my employer having to adjust and re-adjust my time. My apologies to Dr. Brown who was legitimately concerned for my well being and not at all responsible for the shortcomings of the staff who clearly don't see the importance of putting priority to the patient. read more

Here's my update from visit with eye issue. I paid $160 for bottle of eye drops perscribed by doctor Slater to treat a bacterial eye infection which she thought was pink eye. After 3 doses my eyes were worse and I used portal to contact Dr Slater who called me later in the day to only tell me to stop using drops and see ophthalmologist. She doesn't prescribe drops with a steroid. She called my optometrists at the dye institute and got me appointment next morning first thing. Dr slater was treating a bacterial infection when in fact it was viral and would eventually have cleared up on its own. This was brought on by my allergies and I was prescribed drops with steroid, two bottle came with prescription at $25.00. For all this I had spent $35 copay $160 drops , $60 copay for specialist and $25.00 for right prescription read more

This place does not communicate wait times. I waited for almost an hour in the waiting room before I was called in. I then waited another 30 minutes in the room with no sign of a doctor appearing anytime I soon. I step out and ask how much longer, said I've been waiting for 30 minutes. I was told oh you're gonna be waiting more than that. They then check their system and tell me I have 3 more people ahead of me. I told them they need to communicate to patients. No one wants to sit in an exam room for 30 minutes with no indication of when they will be seen. It's not how business should be operated. I left and requested a refund. read more

Their wait times have significantly increased since I first started coming here That being said it's still way shorter than my primary and they do get me in same day which is a plus They always take illnesses seriously, whether it's myself, or one of my family members. We've had emergency albuterol treatments. Immediate appointments. Prescriptions when they make sense. Friendly staff that we all appreciate. I am talking specifically about the urgent care facility on Post Road in Oakland. I would give the nurse practitioner there (Donna) a D minus in people skills. I went through to get a PPD test. No eye contact and almost nothing out of the mouth. I inferred from her demeanor that I was interrupting something very important. Hopefully her clinical skills are better than her people skills. In addition upon arrival the lobby which is a pretty small area absolutely reeked. I can speculate as to what that smell was, but I won't. When I brought it up the receptionist told me that there's food being prepared outside the door. I went outside and took a good wiff and that wasn't the smell that I was smelling inside! Quite foul! I was looking for a new personal care physician and after some searching I came across the valley medical group. I scheduled an appointment online with Dr. Stryker. They called and said she had a family emergency and Dr. Flowers was seeing her patients. I thought I'd give her a chance and boy am I glad I did! Dr. Flowers is amazing! Caring and calm and so understanding! I have never been happier with a dr. Update: August 2014 Brought husband in pain. They took him immediately, made him comfortable, quickly and thoroughly checked him, called the ER and gave them a full update so when we checked in there we walked right in. Dr. Flowers was fabulous and caring and even called the next day to see how he was feeling. Also, the nurses were extremely caring and as always, everyone was professional. Office clean and efficient. Clean, new and extremely professional. Not surprising as this is a division of Valley Hospital. The nurse and doctor were very thorough. No wait time at all at this first-come first-serve which is conveniently open 7 days a week. This place kills Santangelo Medical Center down the street. Went in today as a walk in . Expected to wait. After waiting 2 hours!!! I walked out! 2 hours is an unacceptable time frame! Poor management! If you can't accommodate walk ins then please don't advertise for them. You obviously do not have the staff to provide for walk ins. Went here Saturday because I had a fever for over a week and the Dr barely touched me. No bloodwork, throat swab, no look at my throat or ears, no x-ray. Dr told me to go to er where they will do a cat scan and then threw in a spinal tap!!! Scared the hell out of me. I thought I was dying. All I had was a UTI and coxsacki. No spinal tap or cat scan would have diagnosed that....but bloodwork and urine would....thanks for nothing....DONT GO HERE!! read more

I called and made an appointment for 3pm for a routine physical, PPD, and Flu shot. I scheduled accordingly with my lunch period so I would hope to be only a few minutes late. Jokes on me! I was warned that this would be about an hour visit or so. I clocked in a 2:57 for my appointment. It is now 3:48 and still waiting. I knew clinics will make you wait but I was NOT expecting to wait this long. This is absolutely ridiculous. What is the point of booking an appointment when you will be waiting more than 45 minutes? I have been waiting to see Dr. Ahmed Flowers for an entire year after 3 appts were cancelled by her staff because of her 'personal issues' and I'm so disgusted, I'm practically in tears writing this. From my initial appt attempt in June 2022, and then having to wait for her next availability in early Dec and then then calling me to reschedule to Dec 19th and finally calling me again to cancel yet again to reschedule in 2023 is absurdly unprofessional! I wasted an entire year on not getting the medical help I needed hence delaying and compromising my health--- yet no one seemed to care over at Valley Health in Wayne. I think this gives you some idea of what Dr A. Flowers is about-- nothing. I had previously had some iffy experiences here but the nurses have always been kind. yesterday was by far the best visit I've had. they squeezed me in when they werent taking walk ins and the experience was AMAZING. everyone especially Dr.Ajibade was amazing, kind, patient and so respectful. Let me just say, that I am not the type of person to come on here and bash someone's business. But this is my honest and truthful experience with this company, and location. Almost about a year ago, I needed to get my yearly physical thay is covered by my insurance. This physical was extremely important, I had a state exam test and I needed to get it done as soon as possible. I didn't mind the wait, even thought I waited over an HOUR to be seen. As I finally got seen, I told them I needed the physical, but on top of that, one of the huge reasons I went there, was so I can get a paper signed for THE STATE to show I am healthy and can get my license for cosmetology. Before I walked into the room for the exam I asked them one MORE. TIME. will you guys, be able to sign this for me? They said YES, Absolutely, NO PROBLEM. As I go in the room the lady starts to do my exam, everything is going smoothly then tells me, do u have records, huh? I called my pharmacy after this and told them to fax my medical records. They say they never got it. I called again, said they faxed it. Still DIDNT GET IT. Now I'm there for 2 and a half hours now. They are nasty, belligerent, and absolutely no help at this point! I tell them to just bill me my co pay because now it's 3 hours I'm there and now I'm really starting to get mad. I of course go somewhere else, but before leaving this location I ask the front desk, do you guys have my insurance card info to send my co pay? They say yes and I go my way. 1 month later, I get a bill for 350$ plus there putting me in collections. This place is absolutely awful. First they don't do what they said they were gonna, on top of it they send me a hefty bill even tho they said they had my insurance? All and all, I got the bill taken care of and was not charged. Got a beautiful postcard in the mail, so when I had a medical issue and my regular doctor was booked I thought I'd give them a try. When I called to schedule a visit I was told they only take walk ins ( the postcard clearly stated you can "Make an appointment or Walk in". This place is a joke. I came in with flu-like symptoms and after waiting for an hour they didn't even offer the flu test. The person I saw introduced herself as Alena. Ok? Are you a doctor or what? Nope she was a physician's assistant. If my insurance is being billed and I'm paying a copay to see a doctor, then I want to see a doctor. I asked Alena if I had something viral or bacterial, she said it's hard to tell. I'm pretty sure she could've found out by doing an examination but she must've been too busy for that. We have used this location a dozen times in last 10 years but now that it's under the Valley Hospital group IT IS FANTASTIC! They cleaned up the office, up-dated and it's a smooth moving machine from the time you call up and make your appointment to your intake information done on the monitor by you, and in seconds you are signed in and wait time is minimal! Friendly administrative attendants and the pa's and nurses and doctors are all very efficient, allow you to talk and explain your issues or questions, don't rush you and are thorough and age appropriate if you are with an elder family member or teenage son or for yourself - great people skills and polished manner of behavior. We were there 2 weeks ago for my son, 18 year old adventurer who had cut his knee up really bad, while "investigating an abandoned insane asylum" up in NY and had ER attention there - we went to Dr. Ardito for a 2 day check up, at this Valley Health Medical Group Urgent Care; the nurse attended Jack and did all his vitals and cleaned his wound and then the doc came in, he answered every question my son had and mine too, gave us great DIY ways to keep the wound clean at home as well as a whole other discussion about college bound inoculations that Jack was about to start before leaving for college in Sept. Well, suffice it to say, we were so impressed that we just assigned both our 2 teenage sons & our 24 year old son to have their (Oxford United Healthcare Liberty Plan) PCP, Primary Care Physician be Dr. Michael Ardito. The office is 2 miles from our house, hours are very flexible and open 7 days - WAY BETTER than going to an ER and waiting for 8 hours or more and being exposed to deadly diseases and infections just sitting in the waiting room! We stay from hospitals as best we can, since I caught two lethal "hospital borne" infections and fell gravely sick both times! NOTE TO PUBLIC - IF YOU ARE ON AN ANTIBIOTIC OF ANY KIND AND MUST GO INTO AN ER OR HOSPITAL - TELL THEM IMMEDIATELY THAT YOU ARE ON AN ANTIBIOTIC AND WHAT IT IS AND HOW LONG - SO THEY CAN COVER YOU WITH A PROTECTIVE COUNTER MEDICATION, SO THAT (due to low or no good flora in your gut, because of the antibiotic you were taking) you do not catch C-DIFF or other HIGHLY contagious infections that run rampant in ER's and hospitals!
