Whereas my last mover bid higher, were only in Lodi two days a week, and would tell me the night before the move if they would arrive during a four hour window in the AM or PM, Larry scheduled a specific date and time with me. He arrived on the dot. The last time my great grandmother's 1879 upright which weighs at least 800 lbs, was moved, it took 3 guys. I felt bad when I saw it was just him like maybe I should have provided more information on what kind of upright we were dealing with, but he made it look easy and handled the piano with great care. I wanted to watch the whole operation but didn't want to make him nervous haha. Then, after the move was completed, he played it a bit and revealed that it had been muted, for who knows how long, and showed me where the mute slide was. I then got to hear its full voice for maybe the first time ever. Amazing. Sadly our new home flooded the following week and we had to move the piano a little for the mitigation and will probably need to move it around some more for renovations but at least we know who to call if we need help. I was looking for someone to help transport my baby grand from San Jose to Union City and Larry gave the most competitive quote at $385. He was also kind enough to transport a Queen mattress for me at no additional cost. My parents initially had some misgivings when Larry pulled up alone in his unmarked white trailer van, but they quickly acknowledged he knew what he was about once they watched him start to work. Larry expertly took the piano apart and wrapped each piece meticulously in protective blankets. He had the entire piano dismantled and safely loaded into the van in a matter of minutes -- ALL BY HIMSELF. (Even my Asian father was very impressed when Larry effortlessly maneuvered the piano body over the door threshold.) My piano is now beautifully situated in its (and our) new home. I would highly recommend Larry for all of your piano moving needs. One small thing -- I didn't have the heart to ask him to remove his shoes in my home because I figured it would be a pain in the butt to be constantly taking his shoes on/off while moving heavy pieces back and forth .
