We often get take out but tonight we dined in to also visit the Ice Festival in town. Although not in the center business area around the Diamond, it's a short walk uptown. Great way to work off some of those calories ! Atmosphere is as expected of an old Italian establishment. Kinda grody with oil stained red checkered tablecloths and an old well worn wooden floor. "Artwork " adorns the walls circa 1950's Venice. But honestly I don't care! The pizza is THAT GOOD! We always order the weekend special which is a large pizza, family size salad (which is also Really Good with cheese, pepperoni and pepperoncini peppers and nice mixed greens) and a 2 liter soda of your choice. Extra for toppings but still a lot of food for a family of 4. If you're in Ligonier and craving pizza, this is the place to go. Don't confuse it with Joio's in Latrobe. Or the one in Carbon. THIS ONE is the best!

I grew up with a short drive for Jioio's so I've always had a bit of a soft spot for it. After…read morestopping here to grab a pizza for takeout, it's just as I remembered it. Square cut with a crispy and delicate pie-like crust and a sweet sauce. The one thing I do recommend is that you should add a salty or spicy topping to it (pepperoni, sausage, peppers, etc). I'm normally a plain pizza guy, but you need something to cut the sweetness. A large pie and a can of soda was right around $20.

The service was excellent and the portions were large. I love the menu and the variety of dishes. They played great dance music all the time, but we were able to easily talk and enjoy our meal. The parking was free, and it was fun to walk around afterwards and enjoy the historic square.

It is bright, cheerful and very clean. The menu has the typical Mexican restaurant options like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and burritos and the also have a kids menu. I love their chorizo con huevo because not a lot of places have that kind of dish on their menu. It is chorizo (theirs has a great deal of flavor and isn't greasy like chorizo sometimes can be), onions, peppers and eggs. They serve it with tortillas and rice. Lots of food and packed with flavor. I have also tasted the enciladas and my husband loved the cowboy burrito. For drinks, especially during the summer they have awesome daily specials. I've tried the watermelon water and the cucumber lime. So very refreshing! Service is friendly and attentive and they are great about answering any questions that you might have about menu items. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner here and then heading next door to the creamery for delicious ice cream.

Enjoy their buffet on Saturday nights, book your special event, or catch an event there. They have a bar and homemade sangria too! We have attended so many get togethers there and every time it's just perfect. You will NOT go away hungry! I'm trying to remember the chicken meal which is my favorite and the flaky pastry with cream dessert. The owner is the sweetest and the staff always make sure you're taken care of. It's also really nice when they have a fire in the fireplace.

As far as I can tell, they run a normal menu Wednesday through Friday, then offer a special buffet on Saturdays. We checked out the Saturday buffet, and the overall experience was amazing. It's important to make reservations ahead of time, but when you do show up, they present a light brothy soup and a basket of bread almost immediately. At that point, the buffet is filled with a range of different hand crafted items. My partner loves Hungarian food, and I was a little nervous about the availability of vegetarian options for me. That turned out not to be an issue. They had a whole section of vegetarian options along with a salad bar. The whole experience was phenomenal, with a low key live accordion performance in the background. Highly recommended.
