I had quality classes and great professors. I learned so much about the field I work in now. The university has so many amenities. Even though it was "strange," it was actually pretty good. On the other hand, the Master's in Screenwriting was just awful. It was a terrible experience, with bad and unprepared professors, an all-white faculty with zero diversity, and a department chair (Mr. Jared Rappaport) who seemed completely lost and had no idea what he was doing. The entire body of professors was terrible--aggressions and lies everywhere. I had two classes that were repetitions of courses I had already taken as an undergraduate, even with the same professors. Additionally, during my thesis examination, one of the three professors who were supposed to give me feedback did not read my script. As a result, I only received two sets of feedback instead of three. Beyond that, my experience with the credentialing program at CSUN, under the Michael Eisner School, was equally disappointing. The lack of commitment, disorganization, and unprofessional behavior throughout the process was unacceptable. Communication was poor, requirements shifted without clear guidance, and there was little accountability. It is a terrible place to pursue studies if you expect seriousness, professionalism, or institutional support. In summary, I paid for a Master's degree that honestly taught me very little. I learned far more in the screenwriting courses I took at Los Angeles Valley College than in the CSUN Master's program. And if you are thinking about "networking," forget it. The network you can get from that institution is honestly BS. I do not recommend that program. Look for a more serious institution if you want to learn and feel genuinely appreciated. Do not pursue the Master's in Screenwriting at CSUN.

The people here are the real deal, good people…read more My son is a ballet dancer. We lived in Simi Valley for many years and my son danced with a studio that was a competition studio. They have all genres of dance, but it always felt they prioritized the competition dance team, which isn't our thing. As a result, when we moved to the San Fernando Valley, we decided to stick with a more traditional Ballet school academy environment. No competition team type places. We ended up in downtown LA. But during covid, we really had some challenges and my son wasn't able to get back in a studio for many many months. I found California Dance Academy on social media and saw that they were doing Nutcracker outside. I emailed them and ask if my son could take class with them for a while until our school opens again. They were dancing outside and following all covid precautions until case numbers came down and county restrictions allowed indoor classes again. They followed everything to a T and kept dancers safe. No cases were spread within the studio. Everyone we met here was fantastic. No drama. And truly solid classical ballet instruction. I'd have previously written this place off because we were looking to get away from competition environment, but California Dance Academy treats both classical ballet and competition as equally valuable. They develop strong dancers and train kids up in the area the kid wants to go. Their focus is art and solid instruction. My son's school downtown reopened and he was genuinely sad to leave California Dance Academy. But I have to write this review and just say that whether it is classic ballet or more commercial style dance you are looking for, this is a great school with great people. They are helpful, transparent, kind, and honest people.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

It was an intimate evening as there were only two other people booked, so it was like a private painting lesson. There was only wine by the bottle so we ended up splitting a bottle with the other two attendees. I've attended a few other paint nights elsewhere in the past, and this night lived up to my expectations. I would definitely revisit Painting with a Twist in Chatsworth!

We opted to get the Cherry Blossom Pinot bottle to share for our table, and I must say it was a very delightful wine that tasted perfect and light to sip on while we painted. Our painting was a lion, and I must say until almost half way through I just didn't think my painting of a lion was going to look like a lion, but we trusted the process and we followed instructions which were very easy to follow step by step, and in the end we all had lions! It's so funny that despite that we all follow the same instructions, our lions all were different sizes and looks haha! Our Instructor Ellie was so upbeat and friendly and helpful! My favorite part of the night was when we had started painting in the neon yellow color, when suddenly Ellie turned off the lights! Our paintings were glowing!!!!! Such a fun surprise the whole room did a collective "Oh my gosh!" at the same time LOL. This was definitely a fun experience that I would love to attend again! In addition I was told to try calling the number I had already tried connecting with. My issue isn't so much not being able to host an event here as much as it's the lack of communication. I waited a few days as I usually like to give the benefit of the doubt...which then lead me to lose potential other locations for the event. Just not great business.
