Had service on my pool, gentlemen did not speak to me before or after they removed the cover of the pool. They left with no explanation. The issue is they opened the wrong pool- should have been servicing my neighbor's in ground pool, NOT my above ground pool!. Spoke to a lovely woman who said there was an error, she offered to put the cover back on my pool. My actual pool service from another company is in 3 days. No other compensation was offered- eg gift card, complimentary merchandise... A mistake was made by this company, and no compensation was offered. read more

Close your business. Worst customer service ever. Even CEO, refused to listen to my complaint and bc it was late in the day he said "im not listening to this". B4 get a word in he hung up on me. My spa thats under warranty failed 3 times. The entire company in NJ HAs 1 technician. And bc i live far from their stores i was told the technician will come and fix the issue for only 1 call out. For him to drive to me there had to multiple call outs to make his drive worth it. Despite the spa still u der warranty i hate fight and complain and complain to get the to come out. Andcwhen finalky did i wSnt a priority in fact i was last on the list. He showed up close to 630pm and didnt leave to 8-830pm. Plus he never told what was wrong and left receipt outside in the rain. Do not use for weekly pool cleaning service or openings/closings. Drivers sit outside the house in their truck to "kill time" since the trucks have gps in them. I caught them last week lying on their receipt about the services they performed. Said they vacuumed, backwashed pump, emptied baskets etc. I showed up (15 minutes) after they left and found that they did not perform any service other than adding chlorine and emptying one skimmer basket. Backwash hose was dry and unused. Pump skimmer basket was filled with debris. Debris still in pool. When I confronted them, I was told that they "forgot" and "it happens all the time". Luckily, I was told I won't be charged for their "theft of services". Lucky me! There are many other company's to choose from in NJ. ill start by saying the staff is friendly and helpful if you need something retail. however, they came out for a service call....giving me a window of "any time after 3." they show up at 2:15 and no one is home. no one calls me, no one updates me. a full 24 hours later, and 2 voice messages, still no communication. i had to continue calling to find out, "you're 7th on the call back list.". so, im ON the phone with you and you need to "find out" a full day later. what your service folks did yesterday. i run a business....i know what my employees are doing, where they are and what they do each and every day. more importantly, communication is at the forefront of our business. leaving customers for a full day with a "sorry get in line and wait" to simply find out what the heck you did while you were at my home is wildly unacceptable. standing by for the response of, "we're busy and understaffed" etc. reasons, excuses, whatever....you need to do much better. after this, i would cross them off the list of any local company for pool service. i only had them come out because they were assigned for a warranty claim for a pump. read more

They didn't have It in stock so I ordered one online myself and then asked if they could install it. But they were short on installers at the time so I scheduled my own installer so was not impressed with most recent need for help. But these guys have always taken my call no matter what time of day it was. They even provided over the phone assistance to help me with an issue. They have no clue what they are doing and hired a third party to "repair" the hot tub they sold us. They said it needed a ton of stuff for over $1200 and even after those "repairs" it was exactly the same. Then we ordered a new cover from them and it took almost a year for them to deliver the cover. They kept saying the guy who ordered it got fired so they don't have it, even after charging over $1000 for that as well. This place should be avoided at all costs. read more

National had it and the guy I spoke to seemed to know all about my spa and how to fix it. He had the part in the reclaim parts sitting in the backroom. If I could leave a negative rating I would. This is possibly the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with, in my opinion. Signed a contract for an in ground pool on May 26th. It still is not complete and now they refuse to finish the work. Electrical inspection failed because the brand new pool equipment is submerged in 6" of water. They refuse to fix this. Inspector says final c/o will fail since they didn't properly grade the dirt, they refuse to fix it. They left 8" of dirt in my yard and refuse to remove it. Once they get your money they take 2-3 days to return your calls. Then their "construction coordinator" (i use that term VERY loosely) replies with a generic email. DO NOT USE THEM. Save yourselves the headaches. Having a pool put in was supposed to be a good experience. I regret ever having them put a shovel in what is left of my yard! read more

I was going to go with Anthony Sylvan pools but , I got involved with a contractor for something else and he recommend national. Omg. I have a pool that was started in eAugust that is not completed- a small pool~ 450 sq ft. that should have been done in 2 maybe 3 months. I now have to file a claim in with the consumer fraud division to get my almost $5000 back for work that should have been completed in October. They also laid out the pool wrong and since I live in Princeton you have to get a survey for the measurement. And national stuck me with $1000 bill after they made a mistake! It's been a bad experience. I'll get someone else to finish it but such an exasperating experience for something that should have been easy. Lack of accountability and ownership by the company. I couldn't be more disappointed with my choice of companies. Check reviews. These people don't care one bit. Update: this just keeps getting worse. Now I hired someone else to finish the pool and none of the equipment is working they were holes in the brand new pump. The heater isn't working. Read reviews. Lesson learned. Wow!! No wonder why their reviews are so bad! Just went in to purchase a hot tub but both young male employees couldn't be bothered. They were actually dismissive and rude. This was our second time there as we were researching our purchase but we were prepared to purchase today. I feel the need to point out shady that even with a $1500 instant rebate the price was significantly higher than the first time we were there. Now it's clear why the one employee told us that his cousin bought a bullfrog hot tub, because the salesperson and the price left much to be desired. I'm sure the owners are thrilled to have such stellar employees who lost a $10k+ sale in 5 minutes. I wish I could give them no stars. I contracted them to renovate my inground vinyl lined pool last summer and they never finished the job. They installed the wrong liner, caused a leak that they never repaired, and added charges for items agreed to but conveniently not included in hard to read hand written contract. My contract to start pool was on may12 2016 did not show up till june9 2016 showed up with so fly by night sub contractor finally got pool in ground on 6/12 around noon I was at a funeral silly me for leaving them alone when I got home pool was 18 inches out of the ground sub contractor said boss said to finish job. My gf drove to national store after calling everyone possible from company and no one would get back to us thay stayed till 10 pm but could not finish on Sunday same 2 clowns showed up and fought all day after a few hours worker told me if we did not get stone around pool it would crack so me and my kids put stone around pool for 3 hrs then when thay tried putting filter and pump together and did not know how I had them removed by sbpd and told them they could not return 1500 later in legal fees national came back on 6/14 to remove the pool dig hole deeper and reset pool so now on6/17 I have electrical trench not back filled no one returning my calls pool full of stone and dirt and still no return calls or emails. II want to give a shoutout to Lori Caruso in the spa department of this company. I have a leak in my spa and since day one she has been nothing but helpful, exceeding what I could have expected from a service company. In these weeks all the pool and spas company are dealing with the busiest time of the season, but she is always returning my calls, my mails and suggesting the best way to tackle the problem. My problem is still being addressed, but Lori is actively helping to solve it. As soon as my issue is fixed I will add the 5th star to my review. Dealing with a person like Lori is simply refreshing. She listens, she is polite and she understands the customer's urgency. If this company has an "employee of the month" reward program, I am sure she is always the winner. Thank you very much Lori. i had originally dealt with this company buying a Sundance hot tub in 2003, it lasted 12 years. I just bough the same model, a lot more expensive, and here is my experience. The hot tub has not worked since we bought it, we do everything by the book, water turns green every week , and has filthy bubbles, it is completely defective. We have had their third party service guys out here multiple times and nothing has changed. Now throw in the fact that during installment they cut the cover with a blade and still haven't replaced it, there is no reason to deal with their bullshit. I would run from these guys in the opposite direction. There is no attention to detail ZERO customer service and judging by the reviews here, I am not alone in my experience with this company. I only wish I had looked here first to basically see a regurgitation of everything I had felt after buying this Sundance tub. It is garbage. These people do not respond here because they know the deal, they are here to sell you a hot tub, then disappear with no attention to detail at all. read more

They straight up steal your money. Charged me $160 and never did the service. They rescheduled twice and then charged my credit card without even letting me know. They are also deceptive as others mentioned. Forced me to put a card on account (even though I had previously paid for a service with a check) and then just charged me for something I had no idea about nor had been discussed!! I have never written a bad review on anything until now. When I followed up, they passed me along to multiple people, telling me the next would get back to me. End result, I lost it on $160 but they lost out on a customer. Literally any other spa service company I imagine would be a better experience than this. Yelp removed my first review because they said I wasn't specific. My first review was as follows: The sales staff are like used car salesmen. They will say ANYTHING to make a sale. Completely untrustworthy. I dealt with a guy named Ed. 100% useless. I took my business elsewhere. Let me try to be more specific starting with.... if this was the last pool company in the world and I was stranded in the Sahara desert, I would rather die a sun baked death than do business with national pools. Next.... when ed showed up at my house he gave the least professional presentation, of the 6 I received. His trunk looked like he shoveled the brochures and pamphlets into it. He couldn't even find his own business card. Then after making me wait over a week he came back with a price that was $8000 higher than the last pool I had national do for me in my old house, even though I was providing them with the filter, pump, heater and 2 led lights (approximately $4k in equipment) Ed justified this 25% plus price increase by saying "well, what can I tell you prices go up" with a rude attitude. What I wanted to hear was " you're a return customer and we appreciate your return business". When I told Ed and his coworker (who's name I forget but was the salesman who sold me the last pool) how completely dissatisfied I was with their current price and I'd like a written breakdown of the current price as well as a copy of my last contract so I could do a line by line comparison. After promising to send it on several occasions they never did. However, they did REPEATEDLY call dozens of times from several different numbers trying to sell the pool. If you have ever tried to buy a car from a dealer, this was the same tactic they use. Needless to say I used a different pool company. read more

I have been dealing with this company for 17 years and over the years the service has been consistently outstanding. We had the liner replaced in September and immediately closed the pool. When we opened this year there were a few spots where it was coming away from the coping. I left the Service Department a message on a Saturday and they were calling to come out first thing Monday morning!!!! I live in Hamilton and have 2 pool companies that are closer to me where I can get my water tested. I go the extra miles to go to National! Floor staff are always professional and helpful! My cover lasted under 3 years (2nd cover purchased from them for same spa) and they were replacing it for more than $100.00 than what I could buy it on my own...NOT TO MENTION IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 5 YEARS and the owner pretended that he was just a worker when I challenged him on it!!! They wouldn't make good on trying to rip me off! Their products they represent are good and the service personnel are good, but they charge a small fortune. We use national pools primarily to have our water checked when our pool is not quite right and we can't seem to fix it ourselves. They have very knowledgeable employees who really understand pool chemistry. We have gone to the other pool locations in the Hamilton area but their advice usually didn't work and it just resulted in spending more money. National pools is worth the trip at least for getting your pool water checked. read more

After interviewing several different pool companies, I ultimately decided on National pools for their creativity, vision, and quality for the price. They installed my pool in the fall so it would be completely ready in the spring. What separates National from the rest includes Dan who brings a unique perspective to your backyard with his ideas that others did not provide. He also makes it fun. I also had several unique requests which they fully accommodated. They also provide several standard features that are upgrades to others. All of the installers were friendly, helpful, patient and neat. I also appreciated the honesty - I "thought" I wanted a larger pool but was advised on a more appropriate size based on my yard size and indeed it fits in perfectly and looks beautiful. My entire family (and especially the kids) are looking forward to enjoying our new backyard. read more
