With the computerized and digitized aspect of most vehicles, these days I find that I can no longer do the services myself simple things like oil, changes, air filters, headlights, wipers, etc. all have some trick that highly trained mechanics have to do in order to complete the services that I can no longer do it in the comfort of my own garage. Service Department is a complete fail. Charged for work they didn't do and when i pointed it all out they did it, no apologies nothing and no refund. Took my car in for rotor replacement a few weeks after having maintenance done at my usual Toyota dealership. Was advised of a laundry list of work that was suddenly needed to be done. That seemed suspicious considering it was just maintained and inspected a few weeks prior and the only issue found was the rotors. Come time to put my winter tires on and find that when they rotated the tires when they did the rotors and brakes, they completely messed up the lug nuts. Best guess is imperial sockets were used instead of metric, so now I have to replace those. The combination of unneeded work and the ruined lug nuts is why I will never bring my car here again. I'll make the trip into Langley where I never encountered this type of issue in the decade + I was taking it there. read more

Vehicle needed an oil change which I booked by phone. I also asked them to check my exhaust emissions because they smelled strongly of rotten eggs and I was suspecting either the O2 sensor or catalytic converter. They recommended a diagnostic service that would reveal what the problem was. I said that I wasn't sure the diagnostic service they suggested would reveal the problem. Couldn't they just check the odour? The service staff person assured me that the diagnostic would reveal all problems. So I took my vehicle in for the oil change and told the service staff person again about my car's exhaust odour. She assured me that the diagnostic test would reveal all. However when my car was ready they hadn't checked my vehicle for the exhaust odour. Yet they charged me $150 for a diagnostic and tire rotation - Ah, and the test revealed there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. All they did was inspect it and rotate my tires..... even tho I had also told them I get free tire rotations from a tire retailer. I explained again that I had wanted them to check the exhaust odour and I was upset they hadn't listened to me. They "tried" to lower the cost, but within 2 minutes they said they couldn't lower the price, but I feel they didn't try very hard. They then told me what I needed to know BEFORE I took my car there... a red light on my dash would indicate a problem with my O2 sensor or catalytic converter and the odour would most likely be fixed by adding a fuel injector cleaner to a full tank of gas. So... there is their admission that the diagnostic service they had performed was unnecessary. Very bad customer service! So mad. Told them I was upset that I was paying for a diagnostic that my vehicle didn't need and didn't reveal why the exhaust was so smelly. I felt disrespected and dismissed. Their test didn't tell me what I needed to know, and they hadn't listened to me, their customer. I paid for the unnecessary service; I was too angry to continue speaking to them. Left unhappy. Never ever taking my vehicle there again. read more

Cost of pump = $330.00 Labour cost = $1364.00 Total invoice = $2042.74 When my spouse questioned the Service Agent about labour cost he got upset about the questions and wouldn't talk to us. We had to get the questions answered by his supervisor, the Service Manager. read more

So I wanted to post about our painful experience when we first went in to purchase a new vehicle but I chose to let it go. Now, after taking our 2016 4Runner in for its first service I feel obligated to say something. First of all, going in to look at a new vehicle at Valley Toyota was not pleasant. The salesperson that approached us was overly aggressive and was more interested in getting our credit card deposit to "secure a deal" than finding out what our needs and price range was. When we finally acquiesced just to even get a quote it was full sticker price, no negotiation! We were not treated well as customers even when we called them on a few pricing issues. In the end we bought a vehicle out of necessity and the experience left my wife and I utterly disappointed in the lack of customer service and client relations. Now today I just took our vehicle in for its first service and discovered that the work they said they were going to perform actually wasn't carried out. Although they apologized once it was pointed out, it shows an overall lack of integrity and goes back to lousy customer service and sketchy business practices. I hope someone senior from Valley reads this as I seriously question their accountability and ethics. Although our friends had recommended we steer clear of Valley we tried to "shop local"... in the end we should have gone elsewhere... live and learn. read more

Larry, I was excited to come back to Valley Toyota after spending a couple of weeks there installing the new Landscaping outside of the parking lot last year! Honestly, 10 minutes into my experience yesterday I was already thinking, wow the customer service here is exquisite! I was given a nice work space to set up my laptop while waiting for the inspection, and everyone I dealt with was great! Nonetheless, unfortunately when I drove away I was a little bit disappointed. The thing is, I brought my Rav 4 in for an inspection because I will be selling it soon and wanted to be able to provide mechanical info to the purchaser. When the inspection was done I was handed the paperwork with a brief description from the service rep showing that there was a minor leak in my tranny, and the ball joints were worn. Both issues were labeled as not serious and to be 'monitored'. I almost drove away but felt uncomfortable/unclear and wanted some more detailed information from a mechanic. I asked to speak to the technician who worked on my vehicle and what he told me was seemingly different than what was on the paper. He said the tranny leak was fairly serious and should be dealt with, and also the ball joint issue was quite serious as if they fail when I'm on the highway could cause an accident or more serious mechanical damage. I'm not writing this to try to get anything out of you guys, just to make a suggestion. With a routine mechanical inspection it would be really great if protocol included a two or three minute discussion with the technician rather than just check marks on a piece of paper. I'd like to share my horrendous experience with the sales team at Chilliwack Valley Toyota. I flew in from Toronto to view a used vehicle, that I was very excited about, with cash in hand. After a quick test drive, I was almost ready to complete the purchase, and just needed to work out the finer details of the sale. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from that point. I submitted six SEPARATE offer sheets, each of which was rejected by the sales team: 1. $200 off the listed selling price 2. On the condition the brake pads would be replaced 3. On the condition the vehicle would come with a 3 month warranty 4. On the condition the vehicle would be transferred to me at the Vancouver International airport in three weeks at no additional cost 5. On the condition I was to be picked up at the Vancouver International airport in three weeks at no additional cost 6. On the condition the vehicle would be shipped to a dealership closer to the Vancouver International airport at no additional cost I've purchased four vehicles in the past decade and have never been treated as poorly as I was at Chilliwack Valley Toyota. To clarify, these were all separate offers I made, in succession, each of which was denied. The sales advisor I was discussing the offers with laughed after each offer, implying that I was being unreasonable. There are several dealerships located nearby in Chilliwack that provide superior customer service. One of which, salvaged my trip across Canada, leaving me an extremely satisfied customer. As a community, you should not support a dealership with terrible business practices such as Chilliwack Valley Toyota. Save yourself from an experience similar to mine and please take your patronage elsewhere. read more

I was looking to purchase a used Toyota Tundra through a private sale and booked it in to Valley Toyota/Scion for a vehicle inspection. I'm not an experienced car buyer, and I'm quite fastidious, so, I had lots of questions and concerns about the entire process. Curtis, in the service department was very patient and very helpful. I was told the price of a basic inspection and was, also, told the 'extras' that I wanted checked out would mean more shop time and, therefor, extra cost. Quite understandable...time is money. I agreed to the price quote. After the vehicle inspection, emailing me the the results, and all the time I was on the phone with Curtis (before and after the inspection), the bill DIDN'T include any additional charges. Whaaaaaat? For what I put Curtis through, I should have been charged DOUBLE. haha. Great service, great price! I guess that's the kind of 'country hospitality' you get just a short drive from the big city. read more
