IMPORTANT READ / WARNING for those with medical issues in need of HELP: Valley Urologic used to be a tremendous place prior to Dr. Agins retiring but since Dr. Agins (who was the BEST) has retired SPECIFICALLY the Paradise Valley location has literally just become a literal factory of pushing in and out older patients in a waiting room in pain or discomfort taking their payments when they arrive and then having them sit there & wait. The office staff is RUDE Example: they schedule patients at a time..., EVERY PATIENT is made to wait well past their appointment time (over an hour on both of my 2 appointment) & not a few - ALL...., (I watched everyone in the absolute FULL waiting room with scheduled appointments with 2 Doctors on literal top of each other wait & complain yesterday about their massive missed times as these adults held the urination worrying about peeing themselves while waiting for their testing that required them to hold their urination over an hour after their scheduled times). They also do NOT provide proper pre-visit instruction.., I was scheduled for a surgery..., I flew in for the surgery from another state..., I showed up for the surgery 30 minutes in advance of the required time..., I waited for an hour after the surgery was to start.., they asked me if I had done 2 things prior to arriving I said I had not been told to & they cancelled the surgery - this was my 2nd visit in as many months and both were the absolute worst experience with a Dr that I have ever had in 60 years.... and they just did not care & when I say they didn't care, I mean it. I fired them as my Urologist yesterday..., it is a shame because Dr. Agins was one of the BEST Dr's I had ever had the pleasure to meet & have care from but..., Dr. Blick is arrogant, pretentious and his staff and RUDE and uncaring..... Extremely poorly managed office. Doctors might be very good but staff and associates are very unprofessional and do not care for your time or value you as a patient. Extremely old and dark and dinghy looking office. Waiting area is always packed and crowded and wait times are more than 2 hours sometimes. Staff is pretty overwhelmed and cannot manage patients or be courteous enough to let them know that doctors are running late. Front staff is also very stressed and not welcoming. I had a euro-lift perfermed by Dr. Blick in Mar of 2022. On the afternoon of the surgery, I was unable to urinate and was in considerable pain. I called the Dr's office and was told to go to the E.R. I did and waited a little over 2 hours in waves of pain in my genitals. They finally gave me my first catheter and it was very uncomforatable going in, but it did relieve my pain. I had to remove it myself 2 days later. Now I am once again having urinary problems, I bought some AVO test strips and they showed an infection. I went to my PCP for a urnine test. It showed a staff infection. My PCP prescribed a drug to shrink my prostate and check back in a month. While my flow improved slightly, it did nothing for the infection and she referred my to Dr. Blick. I had my initial visit over 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing about their urine test even though I called 4 times looking for results. I went two days ago for the euro-cuff test and when I asked about the urnine, they said the PSA test was negative. Nothing about the infection, which is ongoing. Now I suspect Dr. Blick will want to do another euro-lift procedure, but what about the infection? I have a cystoscopy exam in March, which I am not looking forward to. read more

Look, not exactly the kind of clinic I would normally write a Yelp review for, however, Dr. Lipika McCauley is an exceptional physician and a lovely human being. With corporatized medicine making it like a conveyor belt system of doctors trading referrals and the patients getting the runaround and insurance companies being billed endlessly for nothing but lip service, Lipika McCauley is the real deal. Her willingness to spend time answering questions was utterly refreshing. The first time I met with her, there was no nurse to fill out generic questions, no PA to stand in for the good doctor -- no -- she came in, shook my hand, and spent a bit of time getting to know me. And when I asked questions about my health status and the CT images previously taken of my kidneys, she actually took me out to the nurses station and brought up the images on a monitor to show me what was up, and why I didn't need to be concerned. After I shared about a previous terrible experience with another urologist, she didn't disparage the guy; she simply gave me a high-five and said, "Well, now you have a urologist who won't do that." Incredible person, incredible doctor, and truly knowledgeable. Dr McCauley is a credit to her calling and to Valley Urologic Associates. read more

Possibly the worst medical experience I have ever had. First appointment was miserable, waited over 30 minutes past my set appointment time, and was then talked at a million miles a minute by the doctor who told me I could have cancer or tumors (to which he did not slow down at all). Front desk staff is rude and very unaccommodating. Had 2 follow up procedure appointments set months in advance and was called the morning of to cancel and then said they couldn't get me in again for months. This place is horrible. read more

I chose Dr. Blick from a list of about 30 doctors because of all the glowing reviews on google and healthgrades and our experience was SO different! There is no online scheduling for Valley Urology Associates, founded by Dr. Blick.; you must call and wait time is ALWAYS 10-15 minutes. They cancelled and rescheduled our appointments 3 times due to staff illness, one appointment was cancelled 2 hours before an appointment we were driving 4 hours to get to. I asked for a call from the office manager about this and no one called. There was no call with test results or follow-up for serious issues looking for cancer and tumors. Dr. Blick was working with a female Dr. (who was very skilled) but performed an invasive physical exam and didn't consider patient's comfort in the change in gender of examiner (wouldn't happen in an OBGYN office). Saw Dr. Blick for about 5 minutes and he was dismissive of research presented by patient. Overall, serious front office issues and patient needs are not being considered. He may be a skilled surgeon, but we will never know. read more

I'm giving two stars because I think Dr. McCauley is a good doctor; my low rating is for the fraudulent billing practices of the office. I received a bill with my first visit coded as a 99204 visit, which is the highest level of new patient visit. Although I did wait for 30 minutes to be seen (past my appointment time - maybe they added that to the appointment?), my actual appointment was only ~5 minutes with the nurse practitioner - I didn't even meet the doctor. I verbalized my symptoms to the NP and she said we would schedule two tests, which I did on the way out. Then I received my bill with the Level 4 new patient visit and a $328 charge (before insurance). When I called to inquire, the first employee told me that's "just what they code all new visits." She escalated me to her manager when I asked for specifics; her manager explained that they needed to meet three points and they had met all three, one of which was a physical exam. When I said that zero physical exam had taken place, she said it could mean "just looking at you to see how you appear." Yeah, okay. Then I told her I had not met with the doctor and she said, "well, she came in at the end for the decision-making, right?" No, no she didn't. I did not meet the doctor at all during my first appointment. Moral of the story - check what you are being billed for, check your codes, and ask questions! It seems like they just pick the most expensive codes they can get away with and most people don't think to ask. Even if they won't reverse you can at least call them out on it and report them to the insurance company. read more

Staff very efficient by calling me immediately after receiving referral & getting me scheduled. Staff was professional & friendly. Cool modern stand (ContextMedia Health) with touch options to listen to different health related videos in room while waiting. Clean facility. Lobby was holiday decorated nicely. Dr. Rhoades is very professional & very informative in relaying what my concerns are & what the next steps will entail to gain better insight in how to proceed further. Great at explaining upcoming procedures to evaluate further. Great first impression & making me feel at ease. read more

WORST BUSINESS EVER! Called over 1 month ago to ask a stupid question which literally entails a yes or no answer and I've been ignored ever since. Best part is when I called back to express my frustration they hung up on me. I've had a never ending urinary issue for 2 years now at the age of 30 and it's easily the worst feeling In the world when constantly suffering and the one and only person who can helps decides to ignore you and let you suffer more. I'm now contemplating suicide because I feel so helpless and ignored by the only people who can help me. Hope you guys are happy... read more

Visited the bell office as a new patent, was told I needed out patent surgery and have to get a clearance. Clearance obtained and faxed to the office. Now just need to schedule surgery, but after three weeks, four phone calls made to staff each assuring me that the PA will return my calls and finally a trip to the office, all have yielded nothing. The PA will not (return any phone calls) and my surgery date is in the wind. Will now find another DR, and it will not be associated with ValleyUrologic Ass. I do hold the DR to blame as he should be responsible for the patents read more

Holy crapola! We were asked to go in 20 minutes early because we were considered a new patient. The paperwork was not given to us until 15 past the appointment time. (At this point we'd waited 35 minutes.) It took another 15 minutes to be called back. The assistant didn't realize there were 2 people going back and I had to sprint for the door. Once we got into a room, the doctor came in fairly quickly. He spent less than 10 minutes in the room. Apparently, my time is less valuable than everyone else's. The staff was super dry and showed very little emotion about the procedures needed. Or for that matter, they showed little interest in assisting us. They draw you in by scheduling you right away and then make you wait a month for the next visit. I'm disappointed that a medical office would display such indifference and be incredibly disorganized. I'll be looking for a new urologist. read more

This is a very bizarre medical office....they NEVER answer their phones. When you call there is just an automated message and hold music. I held for over an hour before I realized they were not going to pick up! When I went in for my appointment I told the office staff about the phone situation. They looked very annoyed that I would mention the problem and said they had a new phone system that was the problem. Two days later I called again and got the same result. How can you run a Dr. office without phones??? read more

I cannot overstate the incompetence and rudeness of the office staff. I could go into detail about experiences but suffice it to say they have disappointed me on numerous occasions. I would also strongly urge anyone to reconsider using Dr. Mirzaee. He left on vacation not bothering to advise me of my oncology report. In effect, I was left dangling for two weeks before I found out if my cancer returned. The office staff is very pre-occupied, the patients are an inconvenience. Hold times are forever, and yes- multiple calls are often necessary. That aside, the BEST doctors! I'm there for the excellent care I get, not the office staff. I'm so fortunate my doctor referred me here. Improvement to the office staff would be nice; but you won't find a better doctor anywhere. And, isn't this why you go to the doctor?....for the DOCTOR; set aside the frustrating office staff! read more

The doctor we have been using seems competent and has a great bedside manner. However, her office staff seldom do what they promise and my dad has been horribly neglected by this office post surgery. He's been having issues and it's impossible to get a call back or any kind of competent, timely attention. She's been unavailable for days and her associates apparently couldn't care less. So very disappointing. read more

The worst scheduling practices I've ever dealt with. Always an hour late no matter what, imagine if a patient ran even half an hour late.. This office would be charging cancellation fees. Not only are they ALWAYS behind but they scheduled my procedure on a day they weren't doing procedures, causing a reschedule for a month later. I highly recommend avoiding this office, specifically Sean Blick, if you have any other option at all. read more

Dr McCauley is the best! I highly recommended her. I have received incorrect diagnosis's from my primary doctor, my gynecologist's nurse practitioner and 2 urogynecologist before finding Dr McCauley. From these other practitioners I would have received an MRI with dye, a cystoscope and possible surgery. Thank God for Dr McCauley. Since my first exam with Dr McCauley my symptom has improved and she was open enough to my request to cancel my tests and exam me one more time. Thankfully time has helped my condition. I'll be back in 6 mo for a follow up. Thank you Dr McCauley for listening, for your flexibility and to being open to me participating in the management of my own healthcare. read more

Dr. Shawn Blick is a fine urologist. However, the medical assistants (apart from the office staff) are unprofessional at best, bordering on incompetent. On the first visit, the nurse missed a lab report that had been sent by my physician. Dr. Blick found it, but the nurse was offended I called her on it. After a cystoscopy procedure, they promised they would immediately send a prescription for an antiobotic to my pharmacy. They did not. I even went to the pharmacy to have them double check that nothing was received. I had to phone the doctor on call, who finally did send in a prescription. They denied their mistake. The next day I was experiencing incontinence, and I called to express my concerns. I even had to buy some Depends. I was told that sometimes people will have "accidents" for two or three days after, but not usually. Therefore, thay had not warned me of the possibility. I have a job as a driver guide for tours in 5 passenger minivans that would make "accidents" a big problem, and I didn't have enough time to have my schedule changed. My regular doctor gives me a printed "aftercare" instructions warning of all possible problems. This office staff doesn't seem to think that is necessary. Nor do they think they should tell you verbally about all of the possibilities before you leave the office. Stock up on Depends if you go here. read more
