Amazing care. The nurse in pre-op "Mercy" was so great. She was so caring and kind. My anxiety is always through the roof. She explained everything so well with kindness and humor which eased my anxiety. Obviously she loves her job-- and it showed! The other staff that i encountered were also so kind and caring. I did not receive care here-a relative did while I sat waiting. All I want to say is that this is one more doctors office that feels their time is much more important that the patients'. They were almost THREE hours late! We sat for almost THREE hours twiddling our thumbs waiting for our turn. It shouldn't surprise me anymore-I know every medical establishment that I go to feels they can waste my time however they please but it is always so damn frustrating. To sit and sit and sit and sit. HOW ABOUT YOU NOT SCHEDULE TOO MANY PATIENTS? I don't think there's any confusion on the part of the doctors and staff as to how long each procedure takes so how about doing a little bit of math and figuring out how many people you can reasonably schedule in day and staying on time? I had a fantastic experience at north valley surgery center! Keko at the front desk was kind, helpful and overall such a calming presence. My pre op nurse Anna was amazing. She kept me informed and was so sweet. My care team that included Dr Kim, Dr Boroff, nurse Andrea and tech Daniel were all great. They were polite, informative and reassuring. I had a procedure here on 12/19/25 and had a wonderful care team. Very appreciative of the kindness, professionalism & attentiveness.

We arrived early and checked in easily. Face masks are suggested but not required. The waiting area is quite large and you are easily able to social distance when necessary. The staff here are the best. They work like a finely tuned engine. Always on time, pleasant and efficient. A driver was required to take the patient home; no Uber or taxi is allowed. The office requests a cell phone number to contact you if you decide to leave. You are welcome to stay in the waiting room. Preparation occurs an hour before the procedure. I left to run some errands and returned early and sat in the waiting room. 20 minutes after the appointed time I was called to the back. The staff, Alyssa, RN and Dr. Mellen were great. Alyssa explained everything and Dr. Mellen spent time explaining the procedure and what would happen next. Most impressive. I highly suggest using this facility if it is necessary. I had a colonoscopy here yesterday and it went beautifully despite what an unpleasant procedure it always is. I attribute this to the staff at the surgery center. Shannon, Justine, and others whose names I unfortunately do not recall, were just wonderful. This is a nice, modern medical facility in with a big nice waiting room and a television set. My colonoscopy was done by Dr. Mellen and he was great, although with the colonoscopy you don't see much of the doctor. Afterwards he was very good about explaining how things went. I would definitely want to come here again for any medical procedure. It's conveniently located and I felt very safe there. read more

I had an endoscopy yesterday at this facility and their staff are amazing!! Alex was my pre endo Nurse and she was just lovely! I'm a hard stick for an IV, and she got me 1St try and left almost no bruising. My recovery room nurse was also just as amazing!! I was very nauseated after the procedure as I get sick from any anesthesia, and my post endo nurse was amazing, and soo caring!! I didn't get her name but she was fantastic! My gastroenterologist is Erika Boroff and I recommend her highly! read more

My 22 month old got tubes in her ears with Dr. Bailey here and we loved our experience! The staff was so patient with her as she was pretty scared leaving mom and dad but they did all that they could to make her feel special! Wagon rides to see the fish, lots of stickers, a cute teddy bear, and lots of love! Facilities were clean and front desk ladies were super kind as well! Can't recommend them enough! The only hard part was getting there so early in the morning and our daughter not being able to eat or drink anything. I had my fourth procedure here and should have done a review done by now. This place runs like a well oiled machine. I had a total knee replacement and they did a wonderful job prepping me for what to expect including an hour long class that went over how I will treat pain and take care of myself at home. I started feeling very emotional in pre-op and cried. Every single person who came in to me was kind, compassionate and caring. I got tissues, pep talks and a something to relax me in my IV. The folks in the OR were the same. And post-op was a repeat experience. The staff is really, really great here. Special mention for Alex who attended to me in the sweetest way. I had to get a spinal block and the entire time, she hugged me to keep me still and whispered when I needed to breathe and that it was all going to be okay. It was exactly what the scared little kid inside of me needed. My last surgery experience at a different facility was extremely poor and I was having some uncomfortable memories about it. NVSC did a wonderful job overwriting that. They were organized, professional, warm and wonderful. Thank you all for taking such wonderful care of me yesterday. Everyone from the front desk gals, nurses, and docs were all fantastic. I'm an anxious patient, but everyone was patient and understanding. There was a wait in the waiting room and I'm pre-op, but I think that has more to do with the surgeries before yours, not the staff. They made sure I was warm and comfortable while I waited though. One person who stands out as an All Star my Surgery Scheduler Crystal She is Simply Amazing! I was hospitalized last year and need a tonsillitis ASAP. Had some minor hip up with my employer setting my Health insurance but Crystal was always there checking on me and remembered me and my situation every time I called in to update her on my insurance. This Angel made everything seamless and easy to talk to my surgery was a breeze. She scheduled me with my specialist Otolaryngology Farhan Taghizadeh, MD. Excellent bedside manor very calm patient and eager to make the entire process a breeze. I was determined to have the surgery a little concerned as I heard that Adults feel more pain having the tonsils removed older. On another note I am allergic to to a wide variety of antibiotics and also this is the first time I have gone thru General aesthesia. My first surgery as an adult was simply streamline and the everyone at North Valley treated me with nothing but kindness along with exceptional levels of service. Thank you everyone! read more

Underwent a very routine and basic surgical preventative procedure at this facility. Felt the care was great - the doctor was also great but their Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetis coded his work as diagnostic in order so the invoice was sent to me as the patient vs having the insurance company pay for it. This is not right and I find it hard to believe that this was a mistake - some unsuspected patient may have paid it. My Insurance carrier first told me it was my responsibility to call the provider and have it change it. After I refused they said they will do it. I find it very dishonest to send wrongly coded procedures to patients esp if the actual surgeon coded it correctly. As I said I felt I got great healthcare but be careful and ensure they do not overbill you. read more

The procedure here was fine and the medical staff solid. However, billing is a disaster. They pressure you to prepay based on their analysis of your insurance. They then take 2-4 weeks minimum to even file with your insurance totally messing up your cash flow and deductible tracking. You call billing and they do not give you names or even keep track that you called. If you go here, under no circumstances pre-pay. The experience gives the impression that they care more about practice management then patient care. read more

Unethical. They do not operate in good faith. Amazed this place is able to stay in business and has not been sued into bankruptcy yet. The medical staff is fine, but the billing is a whole 'nother story. Overbilling, etc. RUN AWAY FROM HERE! Before surgery they gave us a price and we paid and met our deductible. Then what they do is overbill your insurance and whatever your insurance doesn't pay, you are stuck with. Needless to say, they don't mention any of this at the time of surgery or before. Then they don't even send you a bill, but instead send you straight to collections where their F-rated collections co tacks on additional fees. Heed the reviews of others alike and insist on going elsewhere for your surgery. This place CANNOT BE TRUSTED. read more

Though no one wants to have surgery, my experience here was very good. I did not wait long at check in, the check in staff were very pleasant, and there was plenty of space in the waiting area for social distancing. I also noticed in my short time waiting, that one staff member was disinfecting the bathrooms and surfaces. Once inside the pre-op area, the nurses and doctors were very attentive, I never felt neglected and also did not feel rushed or that I was part of an "assembly line" of patients even though there were many others in the pre and post op area. read more

I did wait an hour in the waiting room, hence the 4.5 star review, but after that everything was smooth as a whistle. The nurses got me prepped and ready to go speedy quick while making sure I was ok along the way. The anesthesiologist was the nicest guy ever who explained the whole process. As previous reviews have said, nearly an hour late getting started, but it's medicine, and things happen. Wheeled into the surgery room - seemed like I was parked about a foot away from sloppy stacks of supplies in carts lined up on the wall - had an immediate "is this sanitary?" attack. Surgical nurse asks the same questions that many others have, and I answer tersely, because I've already done so three times, I'm alone, in what looks to me like a sloppy place, about to go under anesthesia, and I'm scared to death. The Tech asked if I was okay because I was jiggling my feet really fast. The surgical nurse butts in and answers FOR me, with a smirk: "Sheeeee's having a bad day". It actually wasn't HORRIBLE up until your disrespect, and patronizing unpleasantness, thanks. I was mentally trying to prepare myself for something that terrifies me ... and you took what was already frightening, and tried to make it humiliating as well. I wouldn't go here again. One bad apple on the staff is MORE than enough. read more

I had a surgery in Nov. 2018. I made double sure that the doctor and clinic were in network for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. I was assured they were. They then loaded the surgery room with an Anesthesiologist and Nurse who were not in Network. It is now Feb. 2020 and I am still embroiled in a mess with insurance. This location does not operate in good faith at all. Run away very quickly. read more

I cannot say enough about the staff here and our experience. We took our 3 year old in for tube removal surgery and they were amazing. The staff saw how scared she was at first and they came in gave her a stuffed lion, made it roar and played with her. Then came in with a box of stickers and loaded her up as well as gave her all of her name stickers (which she then proceeded to stick all over her gown). When the anesthesiologist came in to talk the RN came in with him to play with her so we could talk. We had decided not to give her calming meds before going in and our little one stood up and held on to the nurse and said, "mommy said you will take care of me, will you take care of me?" The nurse hugged her and told her she would. They then sat her down and our little smile and waved goodbye happily as she went down the hallway making me feel more at ease. They updated us constantly and the dr was out in a flash speaking with us and bringing us right back to the room. They gave us all of the instructions and the best was the nurse had told her they would go for another ride so she got a wheelchair and told us that she promised her a ride and she was keeping her promise because she never wants kids to be afraid so she will follow through.
