Sunday my 5-year-old dog started feeling sick, that night she was just laying around she thew up a little nothing bad. Monday morning around 730 am she vomited blood and was very lethargic we waited till our vet of fourteen years to opened up at 8am I told them our 5-year-old dog Lexi was sick. I called them and told them she threw up blood. And wasn't responding to anything Lexi was sick and was very lethargic they told me I couldn't bring her in till 11am I told them she needs help now I live 2 minutes from their office They said sorry they had no appointment for her till 11am. My husband told me to hang up we were wasting our time arguing with them We called another vet in Highland, and they told us to bring her right in they will call a doctor to come in early. But we just got to the vet my baby passed away. These people are horrible they have no compassion at all, and they were Lexi vet for 5 years Maybe if I was able to get her help in time, she would still be here I feel horrible I couldn't get her help in time. You were amazing all the way, keeping me informed down to choosing the right food for him. You took time to look around at different prescription foods to choose the right one and the best place to buy and cost. You were aways thorough in your exams and made sure I understood where Romeo health was at when the exam was over. I did not expect him to live but he had a few years added on to his life. Everyone was compassionate at Romeo's end time making sure I was ready when I made the final decision. When I walk into Valley Vet, everyone knew Romeo and my other pets. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND VALLEY VETERINARY HOSPITAL in Pleasant Valley, NY to anyone reading this review! I was a client of Valley Veterinary Hospital for 35 years, and Dr. Murphy was the most amazing vet the way he cared for the animals! After he retired, a few years had gone by, and when I tried to bring my cat in, they told me too much time had elapsed, and they wouldn't see him because they weren't taking new patients. Odd! Ten years have gone by, and I called yesterday for an appt. for my new kitty. The person was all set to make my appt. as a new client, when I mentioned that I used to see Dr. Murphy. All of a sudden, the person started stuttering and put me on hold. After several minutes, she came back and said she didn't think they had any appts. available. I told her I felt that was discrimination because she was going to give me an appt. until I mentioned Dr. Murphy, and she put me on hold again. Another person then came on the line who said the office manager would have to call me about making an appt. I said, again, that I felt discriminated against for bringing up Dr. Murphy's name. I just didn't understand! The office manager just called me and told me I am not welcome there anymore because I was "rude" to her staff. She actually said that her staff said, and I quote, "You said you were going to call the sheriff because you were discriminated against!" I told her that I had never said any such thing about calling the sheriff (who would do something that dumb?), and she said, "Who do I believe? You or a woman who has been here 20 years!!" She told me that I am not a good fit for them and that I should find another vet. I told her I was going to leave a negative review regarding how I was treated, and she said, "Why would you want to hurt a small business?" Well, I am doing so because I want others to know my bad experience with these people who seem to be running the show. There's something not right here! After digging around on the internet and reading all the terrible reviews, I am very happy to say that I would never let them treat my animals again. I have been a patient there for more than 10 years - all the way back to Dr. Murphy. Today, Roginski and company kicked me to the curb & told me I was no longer their patient and that they would email me my dog Lacie's record. They refused to provide me with Heartworm meds or Nexgard or the ID diet she has been on; I was left flapping in the wind. By the way, the entire time I have been a patient there, I have never owed them one cent. All of this happened because I had asked for an estimate. I was afraid of how much it would cost because I am 70 years old, have been unable to find work and I am living on a fixed income - but do have a little savings and credit cards. The overall price had climbed by about 25%. I asked to send a message back to Dr Roginski so maybe she could cut me a little break. The message I got back from her was if I didn't like it, I could go somewhere else and she would be glad to give me my records. This was about June 30. They could not make an appt for me until 8/23. I didn't want to go anywhere else, so I swallowed it. My dog is very afraid of strangers and will bite. So they anesthetize her; I was terrified I would not be able to find another vet who would.. So I went back last week to go over a few things. They had printed out a clean copy of the estimate and Iooked at it and was surprised to see that it had gone from the original estimate of $780.00 to $1,022! I wanted to go over it line by line because the way it printed out, it was very difficult to read. Liz looked at it for a brief period of time and couldn't figure it out. So I said I would take it home and see if I could figure it out, so I did. It turned out that the 2nd estimate showed an increase in 3 categories: simple extractions, complicated extractions and a med that jumped from $16 to $27 - all of the same date of the original estimate. It appeared to me that the only real wiggle room for them to raise prices was on extractions. My dog has never had to have any extractions They called me this morning and said that I was no longer a patient there. I waa accused by the practice manager, Pam, of not trusting the doctor because I wanted to wait in the waiting room and approve any extractions. They said they couldnt have it with me waiting because they had 6 surgery patients that day - in short, they couldn't be bothered with me. I have worked in and around medicine all my life. More and more, even human docs behave this way. I asked a lot of questions at Caremount where my cardiologist was and he discharged me and said the reason was I was taking up too much of his time and too many questions. I am a cancer survivor and my oncologist tried to do something similar and also discharged me for too many questions re: why he was wanting to use an iron infusion that costs $3,200 as opposed to one that was much less expensive and covered in full by Medicare Part B. I later found out they don't accept Part B for infusables as they pay poorly and if they can infuse you, they charge the higher amount. Most patients wouldn't think to ask. One of his office staff told me they had gotten it approved thru Medicare. That was when I knew she was lying because traditional Medicare doesn't require prior approval. Only Medicare Advantage does. I wrote a letter to the oncologist, who promptly threw me out of the practice. Because, of course, what they were doing at the least was unethical and maybe even fraudulent. In any event, all this has made me physically ill. I spent hours on the phone this morning trying to find another vet. Driving around and door knocking. I finally was lucky enough to get an appt for Aug 9th. Most of them are booking out 2 months. My dog is in need of a booster Lyme but as it turns out it will have to begin with the initial series of Lyme, which is 2 shots, if she is later than 3 weeks on that shot. Roginski never told me that either. She never ordered pre-op blood for the dog during dentistry. At 10 years old, she has never had bloods at all her whole life and she has had multiple dentistries. Very slipshod and dangerous, at best. A dog should be treated no different than a human. Draw blood to look for anemia, to assess organ function, to see how her coagulation profile is. All necessary but never done by Roginski. And as far as me not trusting her? How can you trust someone you never see? Who never calls you? It costs $65 to see her and she will not give you 2 secs of her time otherwise. The trust clock bends both ways. read more

I have been a client for 29 years. I have had several animals at valley veterinarian hospital even after it changed ownership. Slowly I have found this hospital to be incompetent with its newer staff. The only reason why I have stayed at this hospital and have traveled 25 minutes longer to get there with my pets is because of 3 ladies that are. Original employees there and have taken very good care of myself and my animals. Sally suzanne and cathy. I recently have tried to adopt A dog from an animal sanctuary. They the sanctuary called my veterinarian hospital and got a newer staff member that told them that my vaccines on my pet were overdu For the last twenty nine years I would receive a postcard in the mail stating that it was time for an appointment for my pet for their vaccinations. Well this didn't happen and I was completely humiliated when the sanctuary informed me that my dog was overdue for vaccinations. I had no idea. This was the last straw I am no longer a twenty nine year client with this animal hospital. The incompetence and the rudeness of this young staff member have really woke me up. They're not only embarrassing me but putting my Is pets health at Risk. This place has really gone downhill. I miss doctor murphy and doctor joe and I will miss sally cathy and suzanne love Them ladies. I definitely would not Recommend this animal hospital if you truly love your pet And really want to trust your veterinarian hospital don't trust this one. Dr. Roginski and the rest of the staff are all amazing! My cat is not a great patient due to anxiety and they handled the situation so professionally and took so much care to make sure he was as comfortable as possible! She was able to give him all his shots and take blood for a necessary test even though he was uncooperative, no other vet has been able to accomplish that much in any of his past appointments! Fantastic service and I really appreciated the patience and care my cat was given! I will never take him to another vet even though I am are fairly far from Pleasant Valley. It's not so easy to get an accurate feel for a place when you only go once a year for a wellness check, but our dog was sick recently and I tell you what!...I can't say enough for all the folks here! Amazing place! They took my dog after another vet wouldn't take a payment plan. They performed two surgeries on him to remove stones. They worked with me on payments and tried to keep costs as low as possible. They really care about the pet and I appreciate that. I will only bring my pets here going forward. read more

I have been using Valley Veterinary Hospital for about three years now and am very pleased. The care that my three dogs receive here is fantastic. This morning, one of my dogs broke out in hives. I packed her in the car and drove to the office without an appointment, calling on the way to let them know we were coming. We were seen very quickly and I was highly appreciative of their flexibility. Aside from their convenient hours, their prices are much more affordable than many of the other local veterinary hospitals/clinics in this area. These vets truly love animals and put them first over profits. I find this to be rare among veterinary clinics. They are very thorough and caring and have never recommended any tests or procedures that were not necessary. I have been going to Valley Vet with my four dogs and two cats for over 12 years and I never had one complaint about anything. read more

I went here to have my dogs 1 year blood test for heart worms. I called the day before to find out the cost. They told me it's $27 for the test and $50 for an exam. I specifically told the woman that he did not need an exam at this time and I was only coming for the test. When I walked in I confirmed the $27 amount for the test . The reason I was concerned is because I could not afford more than $30 total. We were seen and the dr looked at my dog weighed him and took the blood (which took a total of 5 mins) They then billed me for $81!!! I asked how it went from $27 to $81and they said they charged me for an exam. I told them I called ahead about the price because I could not afford more than the test amount. So I said ok I will pay it but they would have to bill me for the $50 because I was not told about that cost. They then told me that they would not bill me and that "no one bills anyone for vet services". So they lied to me and insulted me in front of other customers and were talking about me while I was standing there signing my credit card receipt . So the bottom line is that if you like being lied to and insulted you should go here. If not then Stay far away from this place. They are small minded and have lost my business and the business of anyone who asks my opinion of them. read more

BEWARE.....they like to charge for things they do not tell you about. I brought my cat very ill cat in and explained I could not afford a lot of heroics. They reassured me they would call before any testing was done. I consented to some blood work and was told they would call and let me know how that went. I received a call from the new Doctor and was told they could keep the cat there for a few days and see how it went. After a short discussion is was decided that he was very ill and the best thing was to put him down. When went in to sign the form...all they were concerned about was the bill. I almost fell to the floor....436 dollars. 95 for an X-ray that I did not consent too and 75 dollars for a blood test was unnecessary. When calling them out on it they were quite short and rude. I did speak with the doctor who apologized and admitted they were wrong but wouldn't do anything about it. BE CAREFUL and ask for an estimate....the doctor admitted it would have been different if she examined the cat first but she didn't get in until later. Will never go back.... read more

My dog has been going here his whole 8 years. I have never liked Dr. Eddy & my dog is always terrified to go into this place. She disregards anything I tell her about symptoms of my dog and never seems genuine. I needed his nails clipped and she was out of the room as fast as my dog was in there and never got his nails clipped. This BIGGEST issue I have with her is my dog went to ER vet at 2am for lethargy & crying out loud, he received pain pills until her went to Dr. Eddy next day. He was acting better than the night prior but I knew there was still something going on. She didn't do ANY testing, not even blood. She sent him on his way and long behold, he started crying out loud again and walking weird. I demanded a lyme test to the other woman vet there who did it and he was POSITIVE for lyme. If I listened to Dr. Eddy, my dog could have kidney failure. I like this office, however he has never been checked for his kidneys, you would think they would say something but I had to do my research & demanded this to be done as well. I am switching vets before Dr. Eddy disregards my dog again. read more
