People do whatever the hell they want around here and there is no general respect for golf etiquette. The maintenance crew does a pitiful job based on what I have witnessed first-hand. I should not have to be concerned about getting hit with a golf ball by disrespectful amateurs, I should not have mowers trimming around the green that I am putting on, and the thickness of the rough and fairways should not vary so damn much. The greens are in decent shape, but all the grass elsewhere from the first cut of rough, fairways, and even tee boxes is just ridiculous. Some of it is thick, some of it is patchy, and none of it is mowed evenly. The grass on the tee boxes was longer than rough at most courses, very annoying. I examined the grass at every hole and it is all torn up and matted down, not cut at all. That's the result of dull mower blades, which is inexcusable laziness on the groundskeeper! I know I will never return based on one incident on the 9th hole. I made a great drive over the trees and onto the green, had two putts to win all the skins, and the asshole groundskeeper came roaring through on his mower at full speed and decided to trim around the green while I was trying to putt. He literally got to within ten feet of us with the mower running full blast, we are just standing on the green wondering what the hell is wrong with this clown. Are we invisible? Is he blind? I waited for a few minutes and gave him numerous glares of death and he couldn't care less, which is pretty indicative of the course condition. No respect for the people who are paying his pitiful paycheck, and no respect for the responsibilities of the job, it was just unbelievable! I'm embarassed for anyone who plays here regularly. If you are in Fremont and want to golf (and have no access to the private golf club), take your clubs to Hooper or North Bend, they actually have respect for their course and the players.

If you have been to this golf clubhouse in Elkhorn in the past, you will not recognize it now. They have completely renovated it and it's beautiful! The Sand Room just opened less than a week ago and is open to the public. It's on the lower level of the clubhouse and just feels right when you walk in. The lighting, seating, and friendly staff will definitely have me coming back. They have a menu with small bites, sandwiches and pizzas. (A restaurant upstairs is scheduled to open at the end of the month with a separate menu). We chose the traditional deviled eggs as a snack although everything comes highly recommended. There were 5 on the plate, which is kind of odd because what do they do with the other half of the egg? Just include it! Anyways, I felt they were very salty and lacking in flavor although we saw quite a few orders of them going out. They have an awesome patio, furniture and fire pit outside and tv's to enjoy in nicer weather. They obviously spared no expense in furnishings, every nook and cranny had very contemporary chairs and sofas, artwork adorned the walls, just creating a very comfortable and laidback atmosphere. As a paying member of Valley View Golf Course, I'm outraged at how I was treated here. Instead of handling the matter professionally, the manager cussed at me, accused me of "stealing," and turned the situation into a public scene. Even worse, my friends who had nothing to do with this, were kicked off on the very last hole. She went as far as to call me a "bad friend," trying to equate that with being a bad person. That kind of personal attack is unprofessional and unnecessary. To make things worse, she claimed to be the "owner," which I later found out is not true she is only the manager. As a member, I expected to be treated with respect, but instead I was humiliated and disrespected. This entire situation could have been handled calmly and privately, but instead it became hostile and embarrassing. Valley View should seriously reconsider who they put in charge of managing the course.

Came to Iron Horse Golf Club for a round while on the road back to California. There was no tee…read moretimes available, but the club staff went out of their way to introduce me to the senior mens group. Within a minute they invited me to join them for my first round at IHGC. The golf course is absolutely beautiful and a good test of skill. The regulars were very friendly and provided key tips when needed to navigate this great layout. All in all a perfect day on the links with a special group of golfers... and a staff that went the extra mile. Wish I lived nearby, but I'll be back soon!

The golfing experience here is so unique to other courses in the area. Yes, there are a few weird…read moreholes but overall it is scenic, challenging, and well taken care of from the tee box to the green on each hole. Plus, if you like cliff type tee boxes then you will love #9 and #16. What I loved is that there aren't two holes that are alike and the front nine is different from the back nine.
