This past weekend my youngest daughter and I drove up from Western Pennsylvania to visit my eldest daughter (and finally pick up the rest of my belongings). Always find myself remiscing because the house my eldest daughter lives in --- it belonged to my Grandparents. Such an enjoyable visit with Janet --- I agree that her items are easier to find and even though the space is saller than across the street. Very knowledgeable about the items she is selling and helpful to both daughters as they both picked up a different version of the stone. Even though my cdaughter s are both in thir mid are in their 40s --- I had to laugh because of the look of wonder in their eyes and unbeknownst to either one - each chose an opal. That was my Aunt Mary Ann's favorite gem. Janet is so hospitable, friendly, informative and accomodating. Like my Sister's review states, we were back-roading it to Lake George as we always do on our little get-a-ways. We turned the corner off what seemed like endless Farm roads and all of a sudden A TOWN... There was a giant sign that said Home - Made jewelry 20% off, and kidding I asked "Wanna go in" to which she said YES, so we pulled over, parked and went in. We literally spent an hour with Janet in the shop, SHE IS GREAT!!! We continued to talk about Janet for the rest of our girls weekend, that I could spend a weekend with her and hear her stories & just be in her presence! I was very happy to see all the diverse items that she promotes and inspires in the middle of what might be a less than liberal area, She sells and donates the proceeds of Haitian art back to the Haitian communities. She had SO MUCH jewelry in her shop and if you would mention something she INSTANTLY knew where it was on a random table. You could spend all day in there and still not see all she had. My sister liked one thing and instantly she made it into something else. She was just great & I want to hang out with her & hear her stories! She was a great soul and really had beautiful items! She is moving across the street and we told her we would definitely come back next time we are in town. read more

I don't do many Yelp reviews, because I forget.. but this one was one to not forget. My sister & I went on a girls relax, get away birthday trip & we love to go back roads to enjoy nature and towns for what they are. We stumble across this little cute shop in the middle of no where we know! We go in, instantly greeted by owner Janet (she was AMAZING); we loved her! She had an entire store of hand made art work, jewelry & much more, very knowledgeable of every single piece, and every single stone. Amazing energy! Best part, I found a necklace with stones I loved and was bummed because I wish they were earrings... Janet made me earrings! Would literally drive out from home just to go get more of her hand made jewelry! She's moving into a different space across the street. Check her store out. read more

STAY AWAY! Initially, I went to the shop after seeing an ED Levin bracelet she posted on her FB page. My husband and I went in and bought the bracelet and during our conversations that day we learned she did repairs. I informed her I had a ring and earrings my husband had purchased from Kay Jewelers 2 years prior and that I didn't wear the ring because it was too small for the intended finger (I wear very minimal jewelry). She said she could resize it. A week or so later, I returned with the ring and gave it to her. She charged me $109 for the resize which she requested up front. (I found out, after the fact that this was almost double what other area jewelers would have changed). 2 1/2 weeks later she messaged saying "your beautiful ring is ready". Upon picking up my ring, I found one of the small blue diamonds was missing. When I brought it to her attention, she tried to tell me that it was an "irregularly cut diamond so it is reflecting light differently and that is why the spot looks so dark". I disagreed with that statement and eventually she put it under her microscope and agrees it was in fact missing and that one tiny prong was beoken. She then stated it wasn't her fault and accused me of dropping it off in that condition. I reminded her I had never worn the ring as it had been too small. She then badgered me about why I waited so long to resize it (we had a death in the family and I was charged as the executor of the estate, we had a wedding and the passing of my best friend all within this time so resizing a ring hadn't been a priority.... Not that it was any of her business.) She then wrote a paper saying if I took the ring elsewhere to be looked at and they agreed the ring wasn't extensively worn/damages she would purchase a blue diamond at her cost but would charge me for the "prong work". I left in tears. A week later I messaged her saying she could go ahead and order the diamond but that I wanted someone else to fix the ring as I did not trust her. She messaged me back saying that she was no longer going to help me because my husband told her the rings (multiple) I had brought her were estate pieces that were so "damaged and old" that no one would touch them but her and now I was accusing her of damaging the rings. I immediately called her and she did admit that she had gotten us confused with another couple (so obviously I am not the only one who is having this issue with her). She then told me to take the ring to a jeweler in Arlington however since this was a person she specifically mentioned, I went to another (Nina in Manchester VT). They provided me with an appraisal that says "one prong is broken, all others are in adequate condition". I provided this information to her and the response I got was "good, then let them fix it. I didn't touch the prong" So I paid this con-artist $109 to resize a ring that was damaged while in her possession resulting in a missing diamond. And to be clear, these are tiny blue diamonds that are clustered together so it can be completely fixed for around $60 (what the other Jeweler told me). It's not a lot of money but it is the principal of the matter. read more
