Store has closed. While it was still running it was a great place for locals to shop and they had great staff. They will be missed.

So here's the thing- I love Harmon (I really do) down in Hartsdale because I get most of my conventional hair products with some high-end ones. I also like using their hair treatments that tackle my curly hair- but what Harmon calls their "Ethnic" section, it's about yea big and often times, not cutting it. And forget Sally Beauty Supply- that's a whole other story that I simply don't want to entertain. Closer to me, the other "Ethnic" hair product carriers are RIte Aid or CVS- with only a sliver......and I mean a sliver of items catering to curly or textured hair- so I'm like left stranded. Then there's Valuable Drugs- a simple yet all-around spot for: hair products catering to texture hair, a pharmacy (hence the name), even a 99₵ Store. So ok....they may not have wall to wall beauty supplies, but their selection is a bit better than other places. If I don't find a particular item, one of the ladies would track it down. And the fact that I can get a nice bundle of some specific items in one spot- I dig it. Prices aren't necessarily that much cheaper here but in an effort to support a smaller business- it'll do......for now. read more

As a professional shopper I am constantly running from store to store only to be faced with difficulty in finding the items I'm looking for or the service I encounter. I am left feeling exhausted and frustrated. Well not only is each and every store associate you encounter extremely pleasant and professional you will also find a plethora of familiar and unique items that has left me happily walking down every aisle seeking what treasure I may find as well as all the items I came to shop for. From the food aisle to the personal care and household, Health and yes ladies even hard to find haircare products and popular makeup brands they have it all. Just today I called early this morning, hunting down a medication that both CVS and Rite Aid at four different locations did not have in stock to my wonderful delight they did. I was able to zip right over pick up the medication my pharmacist was friendly and professional and very prompt I can't say enough about this store without you guys thinking I'm related to someone there As I waited for my prescription to be filled which only took a very short while I was able to shop for laundry products hair conditioner makeup and candy. :) And yes you can do that at many other locations but the service, selection and did I mention the prices $$$ can't be matched elsewhere. So if you're short on time have a long list and are looking for everything from frozen food to gift items please visit this wonderful establishment there's a lot to shop for while you get your prescriptions filled Happy shopping everyone. There is something to be said for keeping the small local drug stores around. These guys really look out for their customers. Roy is my go to pharmacist there- he goes above and beyond to get prescriptions filled- even when my insurance denies something because of the cost- Roy finds a way around it and gets it for me. He will even go on line and find coupons to reduce the cost!! I can't imagine the big pharmacies doing what he does to help his customers. At Valuable Drug's you get one on one personal care. I don't understand why anyone would want to visit a chain store when pharmacies exist like Valuable Drugs in White Plains. Their pharmacists are extremely knowledgeable and always courteous. They actually put their patients first and are always willing to help those in the community. They also have a friendly front staff with a wide array of products for purchase which include gifts, balloons, greeting cards, food items, and everyday household stuff. 5 stars! This place has also move to its new location at 417 tarrytown rd. Same shopping center it's always been in. read more

The pharmacists here are all so nice and highly aware of all the drugs you are taking and they make sure to tell you even the simplest cautions before giving you each medication. The pharmacists are decent people and have great etiquette; they always lean over and ask me in a low tone personal female questions before giving me the medications, unlike other places that do not posses that decency. Even when they run out of a certain medication, they apologize and order it for you right away, they don't just tell you to go to another pharmacy. The pharmacists here are great and they know their customers very well and their entire families. The staff is also great and very very friendly. I am writing on behalf of Roy, one of the Pharmacists at Valuable Drugs, 377 Tarrytown Road, White Plains, NY. I have been going to this Pharmacy for more than 20 years and have had the pleasure on multiple occasions to deal with Roy. I use Express Scripts to fill my 90 days prescriptions as required by my Union, but on occasion, I need to fill a prescription for an unexpected medical condition. Roy is extremely personable, courteous, enthusiastic and it is apparent that he puts his heart into his profession. He is highly knowledgeable of all the drugs a customer is taking, and what impresses me more is that he takes the time to explain each drug to you and the possible side effects before giving you your medication. I have never received this level of service from any pharmacist handling my medication. Roy should be commended, as this is what a neighborhood drug store is all about....personalized top-notch service by caring professionals. Keep up the good work! read more
