Same issues as Carol S. Bought a reclining couch on 11/21. Financed it cause of their Black Friday deals. Had a planned delivery date of 12/5. Got a text on 12/3 saying it would be delivered between 10-1pm on 12/5. 5pm today (12/5) and still no couch. Called the company and said it is no longer in stock and we will not be getting it. They told us they could not stand behind any furniture that is delivered from now on, so we asked to cancel our order and to give us our money back. We were told "NO". You will have to put in a claim for it. Unbelievable....we are going to dispute this with our credit card company but they are still selling furniture and guaranteed they are NOT telling anyone you cannot get your back if you change your mind. I purchase a sectional in September of last year it is only been 5 months and the fabric on every cousin is fraying to the point of the fabric falling apart. I also purchased the extra warranty so I turned it in to the warranty company. they said it was manufacturer issue to call value city. so I did. waiting to see what they say when they come out to look at it. the furniture is complete garbage. and it was not cheap. Couldn't even handle the simplest task of getting the couch there with a two week lead time. Called and didn't care one bit. Didn't care when I canceled my order. Terrible! Spent almost 3 thousand on a mattress and adjustable base. Took 4 weeks to finally deliver and once it was delivered. They sat in driveway and wouldn't come to door had someone waiting and have cameras. Called store immediately. Told me no one answered and they wont come back. Terrible customer service. Came in on the 4th of May. Justin was my salesman. He knew it was important for me to receive my furniture that weekend. He told me everything was in except for a chair and would be delivered on 5/07. Saturday How convenient that after I left the items weren't available and I received a call on 5/05 stating that they wouldn't be a delivery until 5/14. I C STRAIGHT through Justin's deceiving tactics. Rather than to b HONEST he chose to be DISHONEST and DISHONORABLE by pretending that everything was "good-to-go" and I had him look EVERY item up individually ti make sure that things would go as needed. I called the customer service number 1-888-751-8553 before applying for a value city credit card to see if I would get the 10 % off of my purchase. The young lady I spoke with told me that I would be able to use the 10% If I applied and even looked up the item I was getting and told me it was a door buster item. So she was very aware of what I was getting before she told me I could still get the 10% if I applied for the value city card. Once I applied and purchased item, I did not receive the 10% off and called the same number to ask why, and was told I could not get the 10% off because it was a door buster. I had my own card I could have used but only applied because of what I was told by the value city associate. The calls was recorded and she found the call and said the associate did not tell me that, I was on the call I knew what she said as that was my purpose for making the intial call. I ask to hear the recording and was told no I could not hear the call. I never would applied for the card if I was told I could not use the 10% off. I am very upset and disappointed in the customer service recieved, as Olivia the manager I spoke with act as if I was lying about calling in originally to ask about the 10%, once she realize I did call, she then said it was not quoted to me and I could not hear the call?? Quick but necessary update. One of the dressers we bought already has had two drawers fall apart. I tried to fix one but because of the thin wood, the staples would no longer hold. Then a few days later, another drawer started to come apart. Aggravated, my wife called the store. It was a good thing she did because she offered to bring the drawers in for exchange and their answer was to hold off while they ordered a new dresser. They will call when it is in and we can just exchange the enitre dresser. This is how I like customer service. read more

I bought a Kroehler living room suite there .I read reviews and looked everywhere the reviews on this couch by the company was great.I loved the style and comfort of it.after 1 month pieces of the fabric was coming off and the arm was slanting and squeaking ( yes squeaking!) So I called value city they were right on it and sent a man out . the manager told me that I can pick out a new living room set or they would replace the couch and give me 50 dollars for my trouble.I was very pleased with their customer service I loved the look of the couch so I told them just replace it.which they did and now after 2 months the plastic tubing around one of the cushions it coming out.so Im calling again.Nice look and comfort great customer service.but furniture not the best quality if you buy here buy the warranty you will use it. read more

This is probably the best furniture store around. If you wanna splurge on your furniture this is the place to do it. The service you receive is so professional but yet still down to earth. Our sales man Mark was amazing. He did an awesome job. Also was very informative about the pros and cons of each piece. We have been shopping here for years and it is always a pleasure working with this company. Always have endless opportunities for credit. We go through acceptance every time and they are just great too. Never letting us down when we need something on a budget. I worked with Katie and Jesse as well and still no complaints. Before I start on the negatives, let me say that the people we dealt with were great, before, during, and after our purchases. However, the products... yikes. We purchased both a full-size and a twin mattress set at the same time. The noise from each set is unbelievable, and it feels like you're just sleeping on springs. The price was right, but the reality of the poor quality doesn't make the low price attractive. Then our big purchase - a large leather sectional. We went back to the store because the people were so nice to deal with, but I wish we hadn't. We paid more than $2500 for the "best" sectional, with a chaise, a manual recliner, and a power recliner, and expected a high-quality product. Just in case, we purchased the extended warranty, and I'm glad we did. After 4 months, the filling began to sag and tilt on the pieces we used most often, enough so that we placed a service call. The service guy had to order replacement filling, and that took at least a month. At that time, he told us we should be glad we bought the better quality because the cheaper pieces would be much worse. They actually had to take one piece to the store to replace the filling, so the repair took a lot longer than expected. After 2 months, the new filling started doing the same thing as the original, and it's continued to get worse. We've had this thing less than a year, and we absolutely hate it. So - good customer service, nice people, but really bad products. Good luck. read more

Beware of buying at this store, They need to close up shop. This store needs to be reported. It's been hell since the moment I purchased a bedroom set and mattress and box spring too. I purchased everything in August of 2018. By January of 2019, the springs popped out of the mattress. I called & they sent a technician out & he said, we will do a replacement, so 2 weeks later the replacement came & 2 weeks after that, the springs on the new mattress popped again. This was a Simmons Mattress, No Good, horrible and a piece of junk. So I went in the store & upgraded against my will to a better mattress. And when I upgraded they had a 25% off and when I asked if I could have the 25% off, they said sure but we're taking away the 10 year warranty. Where does it end? What scammers, hard to believe that they would do this to a human being. That was suppose to be delivered in another 2 weeks. Well, they called to day 2weeks later and said the mattress wont be delivered for another 3 weeks. It's all nothing but a big scam, I called home office in Columbus and after 3 phone calls in 5 minutes, someone finally helped me. This store does not give your money back, I begged, and begged and even told them I was calling my Attorney, they would not satisfy me. So after another 20 minutes on the phone, they finally offered me a gift card for all my troubles. So I am still waiting for the card, we shall see if it comes. I am calling the Better Business Bureau and letting them know what transpired. Not a happy customer. Beware, go somewhere else, there are many furniture stores in the Youngstown, Ohio area that would be happy to help you with your needs. I'm sorry I pulled in their parking lot. read more

I bought the extended warranty when purchased a dining room set. We were on our last payment when one of our chair legs broke. We were still covered. I called to have it repaired. Three months have gone by. Our final payment was paid. I was told four times some will get back with me. Finally on the fifth attempt I was told someone would be out to fix it. The guy came out . . took pics . . said someone will be out to fix it. I am def getting the run around. read more

My wife and I have dealt with Value City in the past with favorable reviews. We recently purchased a table with 4 chairs and a bench. We paid it off in its entirety when we were there initially. We wanted it delivered prior to the Super Bowl as we were having people over and they assured us it would be. When they delivered the items they brought 1 chair, the table top and legs (which one was cracked), the bench and no hardware to put the table together. It is now March and they delivered the 3 other chairs (one was put together completely wrong at the base and did not match the other three), the other leg was not delivered because they said it was the table top that had a defect in it and the hardware was not delivered. We have called a number of times during the past 2 months to express our displeasure. We were not offered any discount and only one company representative apologized for any of the inconvenience. The items are to be delivered tomorrow and once again I have to call to make sure the right parts are sent, not to mention the days off my wife and I have had to take to comply with the delivery dates. Lets hope everything is in order or it will all go back with a reimbursement made. read more
