I appreciated his teams' skills and most importantly his ethics, honesty and integrity. I recruited Hosea and his team for a risky paint job due to the unusual designer type of paint we were going to use. Also, I had a very tight deadline at risk of not being able to move in. Every painters told me they needed at least 2 weeks or more to finish it, even with a 3-person teams. This even included a large national paint companies (those who specialized on commercial or corporate buildings). Hosea's team were able to finish it in just about a week or slightly more, allowing me to move in right in time. I used a designer paint complex to handle and prone to mistake from inexperienced painters with this particular paint. As expected, they made a mistake, but owned it without creating difficulties. The end result ended up very fan-tas-tic, above and beyond expectations. And the pricing (certainly not cheap) was rightly fair and quite reasonable I think. I am so glad I selected Hosea for this impossible mission job. It was a total success. Attached are photos before/after the job. Paint was from Farrow & Ball with the exception of the windows trim (Sherwin Williams).

In one, she created a beautiful, thoughtful design starting with a completely empty space; in the other, she helped refine and enhance the design of my home using some existing furniture and recommending new pieces where needed. Laura listens, asks the right questions, and offers creative options without being pushy. Both times, she created spaces that I am truly proud to call home. Highly recommend!

Not only do they have a dizzying array of gifts small and large, they also stock anything you need as far as kitchen utensils, candles, greeting cards, charming and unique knick knacks and countless other items too numerous to mention here. Pair that with amazing customer service and salesmanship either by phone from Ms. Angela or in person from Ms. Arielle, the staff is top-notch. (apologies if I mispelled, Ms. Ari;-) Y'all definitely have to come and have a look around. I plan on coming back in the near future for a more leisurely browse through soon

Best selection of knives. Was really excited to discover this store, and see that they take knives…read moreseriously. In Downtown LA there is a fantastic store that has an insane number of knives... maybe too many. This store claims that they they have the biggest selection of knives in New England. I feel like they have enough good knives to have a varied enough selection for different preferences, but yet not overwhelming their customers with too many choices. I got a great bread knife that I'm really happy with recently. It's just the right weight (not to light) and has a really comfortable grip and an "elegant" length. It makes cutting breads really smooth and easy to cut very thin slices. It is apparently their best bread knife, and at $150, I think the price is right. Despite being on Beacon Hill, I don't feel that their prices are high or unreasonable, but just right. The store is fun to browse through for many other kitchen or cooking supplies or gifts. As a well-stocked mom and pop store it has that quality of surprise at finding something you never thought about. The personnel is also very helpful. I've been there a couple times and they seem to be knowledgeable and willing to help, to explain things and answer questions. They have personal experience with the things they sell.

We met Gina, who was initally helpful in making tile design recommendations. We then ordered a custom vanity and 'special ordered' our fixtures (dual shower heads and matching vanity faucet) and I truly wish I didn't. Gina should have stuck to just the design - she completely dropped the ball when it came to providing us the right fixtures and valves to have our shower system work as it should. To start, we have a walk-in shower, no tub. My plumber looks at the diverter valve and immediately knew it was incorrect. I went back to Murray Design and met with Tracy who graciously took upwards of an hour figuring out if we could in fact use the parts Gina ordered for us. Gina arrived mid-discussion and immediately took defense that we we're clear enough with what we wanted (somehow- in her mind- it makes complete sense that only ONE shower head would work at any given time) and that we could NOT in fact have both on at the same time (which is just common sense.) She then quotes out an additional $810 in parts to have the system work the way it should. The following day (Friday) I went back during business hours and found the showroom door locked (least surprising thing in the world) and my plumber needed to continue working to stay on schedule, so we went to Met Pipe in Somerville to get what we needed. Today (Monday) I go to Murray Design to return the fixtures we bought and Gina refused to take back what we ordered (even though I was willing to pay the ridiculous re-stocking fee) and told me "i made her mad" by getting my symmons valves elsewhere because she sells them. I can't recommend you stay away from Murray Design and Gina the best you can - she truly is one of the most defensive and disrespectful sales rep I've encountered in a long while. If you're forced to go to Murray Design, only work with Tracy.

Nancy, the owner of Water's Edge, was an absolute joy to work with when we redid our (very)…read moreoutdated kitchen. From the beginning, she was happy to create our design without even having to make a down payment, and also happy to change it to fit our needs all the way through... and we wanted to see it a lot of different ways! Nancy never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her and really took the time to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. It's clear she's been in the business for a while now, and she is someone whose opinion you can trust. Nancy came directly to our house to take measurements and made every step simple for us as it was the first big home project we'd ever tackled. The experience was very personal, which I don't think you get with all design companies. Responses were quick and prices also extremely reasonable for a good quality project. I would recommend Nancy to everyone, from small family jobs, to developments. Thank you for the beautiful new kitchen!

This was the worst experience! I would never use this company again nor recommend them. Tim came…read moreout to take measurements with existing cabinets in place. When i went to look at his final design it was wrong. I pointed out the sink base wouldn't fit. So he placed a smaller cabinet in its place. I didn't think anything of it, he was suppose to be the professional, but when it showed up it was way to small and the sink wouldn't fit into it nor would the doors open completely. we would have had to scoop the top of the cabinet to make it fit. I didn't do it thinking he would of taking it back since this was on him, but we did cut the back piece, which was just cheap ply wood. He wouldn't take it back so i got stuck with that... He did come back out to take new measurements for a new cabinet, which i had to pay for. Seems there's no accountability at this company. This was a gross lack of due diligence on his part. Once the new cabinet came in, which was late by a week, it was to big and we had to cut into the dry wall to make it fit and this cause a domino effect and we had to do the same to the following cabinet so they would match. Also the backing to the island was about 3/16th thick, very cheap and very thin. I'll have to go get my own backing, someone would eventually put a hole in that piece. Over all very dissatisfied with my experience and the product they sold me.
