He makes every component by hand and finishes them with a water based laquer in the custom color of your choice. They are actually very nice cabinets. Communication was very good for months as the project progressed. Multiple site visits, responding promptly to questions, getting all of the specs for appliances, etc... Things seemed to be progressing very well. Then delivery day approached. The cabinet boxes were delivered, but only about 50% of the doors and drawers. I'm missing all of the shelves, roll out trays, and about half of the drawers and doors. I was assured that the remaining parts would follow shortly, and foolishly made a second partial payment. Then everything changed. No response to calls or emails. Silence. After my counter surfaces were installed and the other aspects of the project essentially finished, Koenig Cabinetry cut off all communication and says they have gone out of business. The cabinets were paid in full incrementally and i'm having to find someone else to finish the work at considerable expense. This will cost my working class family thousands of dollars in losses. I'm sharing this in the hope that I save someone else from a similar fate. I'm trying to figure out how to recover. These same folks also operate as KOENIG PAINTING and FINISH CARPENTRY in Baltimore. When we were designing our bathroom the reps told us we couldn't get an itemized bill, so we could get something in our budget or pick more affordable parts. They also told us that they could give us a discount but only if we signed right then. Expect high pressure sales tactics. If you try and cancel your project after you sign, you're responsible for 75% of the cost NO MATTER WHAT. If that's not a predatory contract I don't know what is. The bath authority ended up subcontracting out our project and after months of trying to get our bathroom installed, the subcontractor arrived not knowing the scope of the work. Parts were missing, they broke our toilet, tried to double charge us for our deposit, and left a mess on our lawn. They replaced our glorious porcelain throne with a short kindergarten-sized toilet and tried to force us to sign the work complete doc. We had to call SO MANY times to ask them to fix their mistakes and it took another 3 months of being dodged and ghosted to get our toilet replaced and missing pieces of our original order installed. I loved his authentic no BS demeanor. I'm not stuck-up & can take a no-BS kind of person. Since that time Jim has been back to rescue me for washing machine, fridge, stove-top, oven again, plumbing & HVAC. The last time, 2 yrs ago?), he was my go-to guy after the contract guy fr my Gas & Electric company barely looked at my AC out in the garden & told me I needed a new system. That baltimore G&E guy didn't even go into the house but told me I'd need a whole new hvac system at approx $24K. My heart dropped! I called Jim for a 2nd opinion. He noticed w/i 1.5 minutes that a wire or something was not connected on the big box outside. He reconnected things; then used a meter to check how much freon I had. He filled a refrigerant, as a favor to me. The AC was up & running great & he figured it out & fixed all in 10 minutes at 1/16 of the est. cost to replace my entire system. I can trust Jim to always steer my right. There's something special abt Jim. He has this gift of compassion. I know this as after 2016 i was in deep grief after the tragic passing of my son. My home was in disarray, my mood was jumbled & low. He sensed the chaos & the debilitating effect grief had hold on me. Despite me & my house not being at their best, he carried on & set me upright. My intuition told me he knew. I now need his expertise again, as a hose in my basement ceiling shows leaking & the AC is not cold. I will call Jim. I can honestly say, as a human w/ a loving heart, I love my friend Jim. He knows stuff never learned by most technicians today. Not sure abt his prowess w/ all the computerized wi-fi junk being produced today & programmed to break down after warranty. But nothing I have is new. I dug down past the level where I've been able to ameliorate the sand/clay compositon of what the "Leafgro mix" I ordered to show them what it was like. Mr. Hollins (the elder) told me that they get their topsoil when developers strip all toilsoil from sites to be developed, and sometimes it's just all clay because that was the topsoil condition where they got it. The soil is not sterilized so may contain some seeds. Mine may as well have been seeded in some sort of agricultural setting - thicker with weeds than my yard, which is saying something, and with weeds that never grew here before this dirt came. Leafgro, he said, may be sterilized by the temperatures it reaches while composting (which I suspect is the case - I've never heard of this happening with leafgro alone), but that they don't sterilize the soil because it takes all nutrients out. Well. This wasn't AT ALL clear from the product description on the website, which currently reads: "Our leafgro Soil is a special blend of our quality screened Top Soil and Leafgro to produce a high quality blend for planting and lawn use. It is our premium soil mix which provides all the organics you will need for your gardening needs." ... when, as an earlier reviewer pointed out, you do not want this in your garden if what happened to me is a possibility. For fill, sure. Not for growing. Maybe for a lawn if you don't care what you're mowing (you probably shouldn't) or if you spread invasive plants (you probably should). To my mind, it is absolutely their responsibility to tell you both that the topsoil may be all clay, and to tell you that it may also be chock full of seeds. The Hollinses offered to refund my payment, to update their website to make it less misleading, and to help me remove the old soil and replace it with something less problematic at the end of the growing season. I told them they didn't have to do all that, but they insisted, and I reiterated that clarity to future customers was my priority - gardeners have got to stick together, especially in an area rife with folks trying to make bay safe gardens full of native plants. Well, I got the check today, so I'm updating this, but the website remains unchanged. When it changes, I'll feel better - and update this again. I could really use the help getting soil in and out to fix this, and appreciate that offer, but honestly I feel weird about that on top of other stuff - or without the truth in advertising.

Look elsewhere unless you want more headaches and higher prices. Topsoil is hardly topsoil- huge chunks of rocks- basically unuseable and expensive for what you receive.
