This bull has wandered into the Valley Village Thrift Store in Spokane maybe two dozen times now. It is always a fun pasture to graze. There are plenty of interesting items to sniff through, and more often than not, this old bull trots out with a little treasure tucked under his hide. The prices are fair hay -- not the cheapest feed in the field, but not outrageously high either. Now, a bull has to be honest about the herd. The parking lot before the gates open can feel a bit uneasy, like strange cattle pacing the fence line. Inside, there are a few sketchy-looking creatures milling about, which makes this bull keep one eye open and his tail alert. That said, the handlers -- the human workers -- are always solid farmhands. They are friendly, helpful, and consistently kind, which makes the overall grazing experience pleasant. The bathrooms are locked up tight, and a bull sometimes has to wait for a gatekeeper to help him out, which can be inconvenient when nature calls. But this bull understands -- when you have some shady animals wandering the pasture, you lock the barn doors. All in all, this is a store this bull genuinely likes. The staff are great, the hunt is fun, and despite the occasional odd cattle in the lot, the experience is usually a good one. This bull will keep coming back to graze read more

Used to love thrifting here. While not a non-profit, they had a good selection at decent prices. With the removal of changing rooms and an exchange only (only on the day of return), you're basically paying the store to take clothing items home to try them on. No, I don't feel like stripping down in an aisle to make sure something fits. Still a decent choice for non-clothing items, but I won't buy clothes from them anymore. read more

I love Value Village except for this location. The prices are crazy here. Someone must be using google lens on everything and thinking they can go off the prices people are asking on EBay and Etsy. People on eBay can ask whatever price they want but that isn't the actual value of the item. At least look at the previous sold items. $25 dollars for glassware at a thrift store is crazy. I saw at least 5 items I wanted but left them on the shelf because they were priced waaaaay to high. Items that should had been priced $10 and would had flew off the shelf will sit there for who knows how long. After visiting this location 5 time in 6 weeks I officially give up on this spot and will only visit the north Spokane location that is clean, well stocked, and priced properly. I purchase a couple items every time I visit that location and have purchased 1 item from this location. read more

I'm amazed at things that people give away to V V. You would think that they would at least try and sell stuff on Craigs list. Anyway, I have boughten things there for practically nothing and resold them for up to like 400% for what I paid for. Me and a friend went to a Value Village in Spokane Valley. We went their for my friendr to buy some clothes and when she asked about a dressing room she was told they took them away during covid. We asked how are people suppose to try things on prior to buying and they replied that we needed to buy the item(s) first and then go into the restroom and try them on and if they did not fit or look good on you then the store would exchange them for something else in the store, no refunds, just replacing with another item. We found this aggravating because then we would have to come back or stay and figure out what to exchange for and for people that live an hour away its just not feasible. We were told by the staff that its a management decision, so this is for the management if they read this, and my message is " Don't expect people to buy something from their store without the possibility of trying a clothes item on first because this exchange policy is insane. This policy is a rip off. Covid is over so why have they not put dressing rooms back in? My friend and I will not be going back as long as they have the current policy read more

I like Value Village for a couple reasons. A big one being they aren't as snooty and picky when you donate, like Goodwill does. I think that is because VV donates to causes outside themselves, as opposed to Goodwill's model that keeps the money in house and seems more profit driven. I like this new location. Cleaner and more open than their previous digs. I went in mainly for Halloween stuff this time, and prices are better on that stuff than just about anywhere else. The staff was also really friendly and upbeat. I will agree that some things are a little higher priced than some thrift stores, but it is still cheaper than new and it goes to a good cause so I am ok with that overall. While their main focus is clothing, it is worth a look in their housewares area to see if they have something you might need for cheap. All in all, I would say these guys are on the right track. read more

I've been a Thrifter for a solid 17 years. I like to be mindful of the thrift stores I shop at based on their nonprofit contributions. Value Village's nonprofit charitable work alone is worth 5 stars as a company. This store earns its 5 stars based on cleanliness, friendliness and organization. This place is so clean. For being "other people's trash" they somehow manage to keep the store clean. I believe that is due to the many employees they have and most likely the management style. As a customer who is used to digging through dirty clothes to find that one perfect item I really appreciate the cleanliness. The staff here is so friendly. They all seem to work well as a team and even like their jobs. Anytime I have questions I am welcomed with a smile and a helpful answer. I can honestly say I have never been to a more organized thrift store. Each item, no matter how random, fits into a category and then is placed on a shelf. If a customer moves that item a hard working employee puts it back in its place. What other Thrift store does that? read more

I don't know what happened to this store. You used to be able to come and shop for reasonable prices. Now they just seem money hungry. Items that used to be part of a set are now priced separately and at a much higher price than they are worth. Whoever is in charge the pricing on the items in the store seems to need some training on what items are really worth. Most of the toys in the toy section are not only very over priced, but they are usually broken as well. Do you want an RC car? That will be 9.99, and if you want the controller to go with it, that will be another 3.99 or more. Multiple times just walking through the store have the original price tags on it that are lower than what Value Village has it priced at. I've even seen value village tags covering lower prices with higher ones. Just because a bowl is marked Pyrex, it doesn't mean it is worth 8.99 especially when the bowl is so far damaged it can't be restored. I'm starting to see items sitting on the shelf for months at a time due to the ridiculous pricing that they have been doing lately. read more

Very disappointed. Came in looking for glassware and found their pricing to be quite high- $2.49 for one drinking glass, that would be $9.96 for 4 glasses! I can get 6 NEW glasses for $7.99 at Ross!!! Used fry pans, complete with scratches for $9.95- $12.99 NEW at Ross or TJMAX. Value Village is all about clothing. The prices are kind of steep for used goods but it is fun to look. There are no records in this store and that makes me sad. Not as good as Seattle stores and the Valley is kind of depressing to drive through. It's a long way from downtown too. Have fun! read more

I am conflicted with this store. I think it is one of the better Value Villages around. However, the pricing is always hit and miss. There is no consistency. I came across a Carter's 9 month old shirt for $4.49. I was shocked. However, I usually find pretty good deals. I am not sure who prices the clothing there but they are WAYYYYYYY over priced. I saw a pair of jeans there not even brand name with the bottoms ripped and torn for $12.99. I can go to local consignment stores and get brand named clothing for the same price or less for name brand clothing. Please re-think proving your clothing. It is donated to you after all. One of my favorite places to get new clothes. I always went here for school shopping and I continue to go here. It's second hand so of course good prices, and they have a really big selection. Only downsides is their dressing room and "village" card systems are a total mess. read more

I like this store better than the nearby Goodwill because the women's clothes are so well sorted by category. Yesterday I got two sweaters from the aisle for Long-Sleeved Knits and I shopped in the aisle for Light-Weight Jackets. Of course they also have racks for Sportswear, Uniforms, and Maternity. I bought two small bags from the Office gadgets wall; they had small photo albums and fancy notepads I wanted for Xmas gifts. This store is about 2 minutes from the Spokane Valley Library so I can go to both places on one trip. read more

I absolutely love this thrift store. I am always able to get great things there and everything is so well organized that it doesn't take me all day like thrift store shopping normally does. I've been a Value Village fan for more than ten years. I frequently purchase items for myself and costumes for our school's plays. Love the selection. Unfortunately, I'm not loving the steep increase in prices this year. The downtown Value Village has lower prices and more stock, although you have to look carefully as their prices vary widely. Goodwill tends to be cheaper than either VV. Be sure you ask about the color of the day (they don't post it as clearly as Goodwill). You'll get 1/2 price on that color pricetag Wed-Sun. It'll be 99 cents on Monday (if you can find any left). No color Tuesday. You can also get a $3 coupon for donating used goods. read more

I was just in Value Village today (4/24/12) and could not believe some of the prices! It was outrageous, if I am going to pay $8.00 for a USED and WORN out towel I may as well go to Wal-Mart and get something BRAND NEW for less! No, they were not quality towels, but it was a matching set and if you wanted both towels it would have cost $16.00 + tax....crazy! I saw a broken down dresser for $35, really who is pricing this stuff, King Midas? What kills me is all the donations are FREE, people just give them their junk and they sell it for more than what it was worth in the first place. What really made me rethink thrift shopping was finding dollar store items (with the price tag still on the bottom) and Value Village wanted $1.99. Sad day! read more

Prices a bit on the high side for a thrift store, but with the specials going on, there were certainly good bargains to be had. They do have a large selections of household inventory. My husband and I went into this thrift store was throughly impressed. We have never been in Value Village before and we enjoyed our experience. The prices were about average and I liked the open space as well as the lighting was really bright which made it feel inviting. We are from California so it was fun to see a well put together and clean place. We were visiting the area and love thrifting. The staff was really nice as well. Only thing say wish had more home decor to choose from, might've been the day we came but was kind of bare. read more

The prices here are sooooo high! It's a thrift store and most of the items I find are almost the same as brand new pricing. When they have a sale on cloths it's usually 50% off and that's the only time I shop here. The home goods are over priced and kids toys are broken but priced like Toys-r-us.
