I like the wings plain and it seems like they vary in quality at times but lately they have been very good. They are only a couple blocks away and always deliver the food themselves and for a very small fee. The anitipasta salad is very good and the lasagna isn't too bad either. The pizza is okay. Every time I go to this pizza spot I'm satisfied. The crust is tasty and cooked nicely, the sauce is robust and rich with flavor, the cheese is tasty and good quality. Wow. This little hole in the wall has some amazing pizza. The first time I came, I came a bit too late because the time listed on Yelp was wrong and it made me even more determined to come back. My group of 5 came hungry and ready to eat. We ordered 2 large pizzas, 10 piece wings, and the garlic cheese bread. They gave us garlic twists in the house! We came close to the closing time so they already had all of the chairs and tables cleaned up on the floor but we were so hungry we decided to open up the spread on my trunk and dig in right there. Meat lover pizza (5/5): came with pepperoni, ham, sausage, and bacon from what I could tell. Toppings were good, crust was good. Veggie pizza (5/5): I don't remember when the last time I had a full on veggie pizza was, but a few pizza in our group wanted it and why not? The pizza was loaded with mushrooms, red onion, olives, and green bell pepper and it was really good! 10 piece wings (5/5): we ordered the wings because you always have to order pizzeria wings! With the 10 piece, you could choose 2 flavors so we chose the buffalo mild and the mango habanero. The buffalo mild was exactly what you'd expect a good buffalo sauce to taste like: tangy, spicy, buttery. I would try the hot next time! The mango habanero was more fruity tasting than wingstop's and what I appreciated about it was that it wasn't a goopy consistency. It was a nice glaze over the wings and it wasn't too much at all. Ranch was typical baseline ranch. Garlic cheese bread (5/5): our group didn't realize the bread was going to be the size of a whole pizza! It was garlicky and marinara was great. Would rate it a 4/5 but price bumps it up. Garlic twists (3.5/5): it was good and free, but I didn't really get that much of a wow compared to the rest of the food. I wish they'll read the individual ingredients that was requested. This was the 2nd time they messed up the order. I ordered it through their website. When you want more than 4 ingredients, the only option is to select "deluxe" and mark your ingredients. I wanted pepperoni, NO HAM, NO SAUSAGE, pineapple, NO OLIVES, green pepper, mushrooms, onions and garlic. This time I opened the box to check and it was incorrect again. Guess what I got - yes pepperoni, yes ham, yes sausage, yes olives, and it was missing the pineapple!!! I showed them the individual ingredients that were selected. He offered to remake the pizza but we waited 40-45 minutes when the promised time was 30 minutes after we ordered! I liked Valuetina's but messing up the order 2 out of 3 times is NOT GOOD. I kind of also felt like we were not prioritized bc our order was from "slice" - which was a direct link from their website! Other people got their pizza before us even though we were waiting too. Was craving for pizza and want to try new place and they do sell single slice. 1st, the service is slooow, took 20mins for me to order since she was in the phone for an order, then took another 15mins to get 2 slices of pizza and a drinks. For the cost and the wait, I could have order 4 Burger King combo (right in-front of the store) and would have finished them all (alright, 3/4 of it). The last two times I've been overcharged for my food and had to go back and get money back. Their Pizza has Always been good every time. I would drive out of Costa Mesa to get their pizza. I have been a dedicated customer since I was a teenager back in 1996. I picked it up around 5 and it was ready to go. :) PARKING: Valuetina's is located right behind Burger King. Parking can be a struggle because of the drive thru section at Burger King, but there are a decent amount of spots to park. FOOD Meatball sandwich: Super delicious! There was so many vegetables and meatballs! It was also filled with cheesy goodness! Sometimes I hesitate ordering meatball marinara sandwiches because it's usually dumped with a lot of the sauce and the bread gets soggy, but Valuetina's had the perfect amount! My food was still hot. The bread was crispy and everything in the sandwich was amazing! Hawaiian Pizza: I loved it! They put the perfect amount of ham and pineapple. Great balance of sweet and savory! This has been our neighborhood pizza place for around 10years, however, the toppings have gotten skimpier & skimpier & competition has opened up all over. I had just started ordering extra toppings, but the last time I ordered pizza, the delivery person walked off with $10 as their tip, never bothering to see if I wanted change & not even leaving any parm or red pepper flakes. Pretty good pizza for the price. I'm not one for chain pizza like Domino's or Pizza Hut. I like to supper the small businesses. I just wish this place did the same by supporting the local high school but oh well. Extra large pizzas are big enough to feed a hungry family of 4 and still have left over for lunch the next door. Love the pizza... as I was waiting in the store I saw the white boy with curly hair lick his finger while he was doing the ranch dressing and then he plays with his curls while waiting on the pizza to finish. I arrived at 6pm to find out that they didn't have my order. I then received a phone call from GrubHub stating that my order did not go through. The cashier then told me that their store tablet, that takes online order was not working. I had to reorder my food in person and waited another 30 minutes, which took me to 6:35 pm. Next time please know if your online order is working or not. Don't waste peoples time when this is an easy fix. I've passed Valuetina's a billion times & never batted an eye to stop into the small strip mall. It wasn't until we moved near by that I started coming here...which I really regret! The pizza is a little greasy but probably because they're generous with the cheese and you can't be mad at that! The meat sauce lasagna is phenomenal and could easily feed two adults; $5!!! The spaghetti marinara was ok. I liked the fresh chunks of tomato but it felt like too much pasta & not enough sauce. The antipasto salad was loaded with cheese, toppings & the lettuce was super fresh. The garlic bread is crisp and greasy but in a "its a carb day" splurge kind of way...find someone to share with or risk eating it all. The only downside is its pick up or delivery only. They also have no ice machines or fountain drinks but they do sell cold two liters & some bottled drinks. In the times that I went/had delivery, they offer plates, parm & hot pepper flakes but do not have napkins. (Just a heads up if you're a messy eater!) Definitely recommend if you're in the area or within an optimal delivery zone. You can always pick it up and eat it at Eastgate park which is just around the block! Good Italian recipe, the spices come through, a generous amount of cheese, bread is superb, its crispy on the top, while soft and fluffy on the inside (it would make for excellent garlic bread!). I've been getting pizza here frequently for my family on those days where I can't find the energy to cook dinner after a long workday. However, I noticed that the pepperoni on their pizzas are always burnt on the outer edges. At first I thought it was just that their ovens need to be serviced or something Idk. My kids began to complain that they no longer like their pizzas bc the pepperonis are always burnt BLACK on the edges of the pepperoni. I tasted it and yup, it does tastes burnt on the edges and it's hard to chew. I called tonight to ask if if they can cook the pepperoni pizza evenly (the middle of pepperoni is cooked evenly to the edges of it). The owner gave me attitude and said that's how their timing belts (or whatever machine part he said) cook their pepperoni pizzas. Sorry dude, it wasn't like that before. Shame he can't handle constructive criticism to find areas to improve on. Ordered from generic Pizza Hut again. At least they can't mess up a simple pepperoni pizza. Cheers read more
