Second time at Il Fiora in Buena Park, and we came back for one reason--the carbonara. It's surprisingly hard to find a spot that serves it with the egg yolk on top, so having a place nearby that does it right keeps us coming back. Still just as good as we remembered. We also shared a margherita pizza, which was delicious, and ended up with plenty of leftovers (always a win). Paired everything with a nice Pinot Noir, and it made for a great meal overall. We did come pretty close to closing time, so service wasn't quite as strong as the first visit--but it also wasn't very busy, so it seemed like they were just wrapping up for the night. Nothing that would stop us from coming back though. The food definitely holds up, and we'll be back again.

Came here for a girls' night and it ended up being such a sweet, cozy experience. We were seated by a window which gave the whole evening a whimsical, slightly romantic vibe -- perfect for catching up with friends. We ordered the Gorgonzola pizza, Pomodoro pasta, and garlic mushroom risotto to share. The pizza was beautifully balanced with the richness of the cheese and a light drizzle of warm honey that tied everything together. The Pomodoro pasta was generously mixed with seafood and the noodles were perfectly al dente. The garlic risotto was creamy and comforting, loaded with mushrooms and plenty of garlic flavor. Service was warm and attentive without hovering -- they checked in just enough while still letting us enjoy our conversation. Great food, thoughtful service, and a cozy ambiance made it a really lovely night. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for another dinner with friends.

I'm a big pan of a pizza dough that has a nice, chewy texture. And I love pink sauces for my pastas. This place does them both for me! Il Fiora is on the top floor at the Source Mall. They have a beautiful outside seating and pretty indoor seating. I usually see people reserving the outside area for a special event (bridal shower, graduation party, etc.). My all-time favorite items to get here are the Gamberetto Rosa/Shrimp Pasta, Carbonara, and Funghi Pizza. When you order an entree, you get their complimentary fluffy, airy bread which is the same dough used for their pizzas. I've also tried the Il Fiora Cioppino, Gorgonzola Pizza (which comes with honey), Spicy & Honey Pizza (has pepperoni, jalapeño, and honey) and the Bistecca Di Controfiolletto (USDA Prime Rib-eye). Service here is great! You order through their tablet, or if assistance is needed, a server helps take the order. When you're craving a rose (pink sauce) pasta in the OC area, and want to walk around and sightsee/shop, this place is the spot!

WOW. I AM SPEECHLESS. THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! Although I'm not from around here, some of my colleagues are locals and were looking to have a little work gathering with pasta. Food: 5/5 I just want to say I am NOT a pasta girl, so keep that in mind. I tried the carbonara with shrimp, and oh my goodness. It was truly fantastic! The sauce was rich, the noodles were cooked to perfection, and that homemade bread! Oh my goodness! It was a 10. Service: 5/5 The staff is incredibly friendly, the ambiance is lovely, and I definitely intend to return. All around: I give this place a solid 10. The only con would be finding the place, LOL. It's on the third floor and it can be a bit confusing. However-After the small workout, the pasta ends up being guilt free!!!!

Restaurant is located on the 4th floor. Parking garage is free but was busy at 6:30pm on a Friday night No wait for 4 people Server was super sweet but she wasn't super attentive but she also had many tables to serve so I felt bad for her and wasn't her fault. We had to wave her doe multiple times for refills of our drinks, she forgot our Parmesan cheese too Food came out relatively fast Food was 4/5 stars. Pizzas were medium sized. Nothing special. Crusts were thin. Pastas were flavorful. They didn't have ravioli bolognese or the other red sauce available. Ambiance inside and outside was really nice and new and modern and clean I probably wouldn't come back here

Overall, the food here curbs your appetite if you're craving Italian food. The interior is bright and modern, but it's ironic how the food is served on plastic plates for a "nicer" restaurant. After getting seated, the hostess forgot to provide the menus, so we had to grab the menu ourselves. The menu offers standard dishes from pastas to ravioli. The crust from our margherita pizza was a bit dry but overall still decent tasting. The pasta was slightly overcooked but the mushrooms were tasty. If you're looking for a dining experience with a beautiful interior, this is a decent place to visit. Food quality and service could improve though.

This place has always been on my list of places I want to try. My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early last weekend and he picked this place to take me and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Upon arrival, we were adding our names to the waitlist on their tablet and right as we finished entering in our info, a staff approached us and was able to seat us right away. It was definitely busy for a Saturday night so they asked if we were okay sitting outside on their patio. I didn't mind and thank goodness they had their heaters out because I always get cold lol. Once we were seated it didn't take too long for a server to approach us. They brought us water and let us know bread would be out soon. Who doesn't love complimentary bread?! Of course we had to order their fried calamari as our starter. All their pastas sounded delicious but we went with their Shrimp rose pasta and their il flora cioppino. Fried calamari: I've been to places where their fried calamari is mostly batter. The fried calamari was good and you can definitely taste the squid and it had the perfect crunch. I wish it was a bigger portion. Il Fiora Cioppino: Spaghetti, Mussels, Shrimp, Clams, Scallops, Calamari in a Spicy Tomato Sauce. THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD. First time having a pasta dish like this. The sauce was delicious. I was very tempted to ask if I could take the rest of the sauce home so I could make more pasta with it haha. Shrimp rose pasta: Also delicious and creamy. I feel like you can't go wrong with ordering this dish. Staff: sad I don't get our servers name but he was nice and friendly and checked up on us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay. Whoever was our server around 7:30-8:30pm, thank you!! It's definitely a nice, cute place to go on a little date on. Will definitely be coming back for their pastas!

Been seeing this place for a while and finally tried it. We got the funghi pizza, shrimp rose pasta, and truffle gnocchi. Both pastas were delicious, the sauces were rich, creamy, buttery, and full of flavor. If you like mushrooms, I definitely recommend the truffle gnocchi. The pizza was also good, a solid, classic choice. Our waiter was amazing, we ordered a dessert slightly after last call for a birthday and he hustled to make it happen, and then joined our little gossip session for a bit. Definitely a fun night with great food. I would love to come again on a nice day to sit on the porch and enjoy!

They actually do TO-GO really well! And they give their bread with oil and balsamic. I sat outside at The Source and it was super nice

Interesting spot for an Italian restaurant. Located on the top (4th) floor of The Source, it stands out among the many Korean restaurants nearby. Our group of 4 came for lunch around 1:30pm on a Friday, and the place was nearly empty. The space feels modern and upscale, and service was attentive. Our waiter checked in often and refilled waters, and the food came out quickly. We ordered family style: calamari, di mare pomodoro, garlic pancetta risotto, and the fungi pizza. Prices were high, with most dishes over $20. After reading other reviews before coming in, I found that the food did not have the Korean flavors or influence some had suggested. - Bread (complementary): Made from pizza dough, which was a unique. It came out warm, fluffy, and slightly chewy, and we appreciated the free refills with oil and vinegar. - Calamari: The thick-cut rings were tender rather than chewy, with a light, crisp breading. It was well fried but fairly plain in flavor and didn't come with tentacles, just rings. - Di mare pomodoro: It's a spaghetti with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a tomato sauce. The sauce was acidic and tangy, which complemented the seafood, but it tasted fairly basic. The seafood itself was cooked well, though portions were small. There were only three shrimps in the entire plate. - Garlic Panceta risotto: The fan favorite of the table! It was rich and creamy with a deep, savory flavor. But everything was finely blended, giving it a uniform texture that I didn't care for. It also felt heavy after a few bites. - Funghi pizza: The crust was as fluffy and chewy as the bread. Tasted very earthy and mushroom-forward. Some of the mushrooms were burnt too. While the menu listed that it had truffle oil, the flavor didn't come through. Overall, it lacked balance and depth. Overall, the food didn't quite match the upscale setting or price point. It was decent, but not memorable. If you are already at The Source and want a convenient Italian option, it works, but there are better and more reasonably priced spots elsewhere.

We were seated pretty quickly and ordered right away since they gave our table a tablet to order with. The space was clean and bright. The wait staff were all friendly and nice, with frequent service. Their food is best described as Italian food with Korean influence. The insalata di funghi was good, but we had a random shrimp tail in our dish. We are not allergic, thank goodness. The staff made sure we were okay and apologized, offering us on the house. They asked if we would like a new salad but we were fine eating the same dish. The truffle gnocchi is a new dish and it was delicious. Light crisp outside and gooey gnocchi insides. A bit pricey but probably the best gnocchi I've had. Overall a happy lunch experience. I'd go back!

Yelp reviews were spot on. A little tricky to find as it's in an outdoor shopping mall, top floor. Went early(5:30ish) since I've been traveling all day. Bread w/ oil & vinegar... light and very tasty Had the Shrimp Rose which was absolutely delicious. Had a strawberry lemonade to drink. Probably the best I've had anywhere... refilled for free. Really didn't have room for dessert, but the strawberry sorbet was just too good to pass up. Service was excellent as well. Attentive, but not intrusive... Korean Italian is an interesting take, but it absolutely works.

their margarita pizza is BOMB. SO GOOD. Their pasta is good, it's decent. the service is a little slow (maybe they were short staffed, maybe we just sit in a corner so it's harder for us to get someone's attention). their cocktails are pretty good as well. the atmosphere is quite casually romantic. it's not something you have to dress up for, but it's nice enough to bring someone here for a date or just a nice friend date

I've come to this place fairly regularly and each experience was wonderful. 4-5 stars every time…read more Today, it was different. And I'm writing this review in hopes that the menu will return to the quality it used to be bc this experience was genuinely so disappointing. My in laws came down to go out and celebrate our birthday dinners. 7 ppl in the party (5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) with high expectations. Ordered Bruschetta and Calamari for appetizers. Don't like Calamari but my father in law and hubby loved it, said it was bomb. The bruschetta is my absolute favorite almost inedible bc the slices of bread were SO HARD and burnt, it was impossible to bite through. Breadsticks were also burnt (never happened before), which also sucked since they're the one things I was hoping my to impress my in laws with. I wonder if it's just bc we got there early, like right after they opened? Idk but ugh what a bust, man! Especially since I saw the standard beautiful golden buttery sticks being served to other tables later! And I was just sooooo bummed. Look, the rest of my family enjoyed their food but I genuinely hated mine. Here's what I did wrong: I should have just ordered penne with marinara or Alfredo. Instead, I opted for penne with Caruso sauce (meat sauce with cream+romano cheese?) and added meatball+italian sausage for an extra $8. Came with a choice of soup or salad so i ordered regular dinner salad with ranch. Everyone else upgraded to either a Caesar salad or to clam chowder. SIL like her Caesar salad while hubby and in laws raved about their chowder. Normally, the dinner salad has a little bit of heft, it's not massive but it's still pretty solid portion. This time....my salad was just...so...small. And the toppings? One cherry tomato, one slice of cucumber (cut in half) and one peppercini -- didn't even offer shredded cheese. Turns out, ALL of the cheese graters were broken so then I had to specifically ask for cheese shavings which came out in thick slices? I appreciate the effort though but still...what? There's not some kind of mandolin or box grater ANYWHERE? come on guys, I know times are tough but don't bother adding toppings to the salad if you're gonna be so skimpy. maybe if you added the arugula that lined the bruschetta to my dinner salad, it would been more satisfying? I was just so confused and frustrated bc this was so unusual. Which brings to my entree: penne with caruso sauce with 1 meatball and 1 sausage. honestly, it was absolutely disgusting. First of all, the sauce just tasted gross. The sweetness is extremely overpowering and overwhelming. Second, the sauce was COLD; the penne itself was hot but the sauce clearly was reused leftovers that had obviously just been kept in the fridge. Third, the color of the sauce is unappetizing and the overall "look" of the dish was just gross. there's a bunch of bits of meat sprinkled throughout which kinda made it look like barf. It also tasted like barf too so I mean... ya. Just avoid this sauce. It's disgusting. As far as service is concerned, my son's kids meal was wrong so he didn't eat his either (ordered chicken strips with spaghetti with marinara plus 1 meatball but he got penne pasta soooo ya that was pretty annoying and a waste). Pink haired waitress came to check on us once, while most of the refill duty was handled by the young runners. Place was very, very busy and I didn't see any other servers so idk. Overall, it's just such a bummer. I'm beyond disappointed bc this place is normally sooooo yummy. I just dont know what happened? TLDR; avoid caruso sauce, order soup over the dinner salad

She updated us on when food was coming, was not confused about any orders, even if they were off the beaten path, and she boxed up the food, and ran our card when we had to leave, in such an efficient manner. Even though I could see she was busy with other, larger tables. And she reminded me since my items were raw, I should refrigerate them asap. That was so sweet, she didn't have to care what happened after we left lol and I know people want to hear about food in a review, but great service makes such a difference! The thing about the ambiance, everyone was there celebrating, and happy, it made it such a happy dinner. There were birthdays, and friends sharing plates, family style. It was just heart warming. Now food and drinks: I ordered a lychee martini, not on the menu, and then another martini, both were perfectly balanced. We had the infamous bread and honey appetizer, which was phenomenal! The meatballs. Which, my only qualm was, I wish they brought a cheese grater, but that's me, I love too much cheese lol I had the carpaccio, which was amazingly balanced. I loved the quality of the meat, the sauce, and arugula. I also had the salmon crudo, which I wasn't the biggest fan of. I liked the sauce, but it was a little fishy and cut thick, so chewy, and personally, I'm not a big fan of pickles. I would have liked pickled cucumbers, more. My friend had the katsu, which was a little spicy. So pay attention when the menu has a jalepeno next to it! lol All in all, it was a great experience! My only warning is that menu items change, so don't go in set on something specific. Because I really wanted the lamb. but again, I left very happy!

I've been to Ini numerous times and my friend and I recently stopped by to try their summer menu…read more The ambiance is modern, stylish, and always a great place for a date night or dinner with friends. We ordered the calamari, crab roe spaghetti, short rib gnocchi, and a yuzu rita. The calamari was crispy and packed with flavor. The marinara sauce wasn't anything special but our server recommended their house calabrian chili sauce and it was so good. The short rib gnocchi was probably my favorite dish of the night. The short rib was incredibly tender and the sauce was rich without feeling too heavy. The crab roe spaghetti was also a hit. The sauce was creamy, packed with crab flavor, and they were pretty generous with the crab meat. My only complaint was finding a piece of crab shell in the pasta which was a little unpleasant. The yuzu rita was refreshing and helped cut through the richness of the heavier dishes perfectly. Shoutout to Anthony for being so sweet and helpful throughout our meal!! I've always loved Ini for its creative menu and consistency. Can't wait to come back and see what they come up with next!
