    Parpadelle and vodka sauce

Overall, every plate was cooked with love and well-balanced ingredients. The vibe of the La Tavolata crew this evening was vibrant and joyful to be around. I highly recommend going early, on a Thursday evening to avoid a long wait time. But it is also worth the wait, in my opinion. Tiramisu: A soft and moist sponge-like bite with silky layers of thick sweet mascarpone cream. The slow-dripping thick chocolate and drizzle of raspberry sauces pairs well together. ((Make sure you save room for dessert!!!)) Burrata Toast: A crunchy hearty bite of toast topped with creamy layer of burrata cheese. The splash of balsamic along with the cherry tomato and basil is a party in your mouth. Pesce di Giorno: The salmon was thoughtfully pan seared with a naturally crunchy layer of skin and moist texture. The plate includes smooth and crunchy bursts of green beans. The saffron risotto was perfectly cooked--soft, thick, and lemony. All topped with a drizzle of lemony and creamy aioli--a party on the pallets. Overall, the La Tavolata crew's energy makes it a welcoming and heart-warming experience.

Went back to La Tavolata on a date for the first time in a while. I'm biased, Italian food is my favorite so I love this place. Reasonably priced pasta dishes. Ordered some appetizers and a bottle of Chianti. The servers were kind, pleasant, and professional. We had reservations but didn't seem like there was a wait and it was mostly packed. Very pleasant and nicely lit vibe. If you're looking for a pasta evening, I highly recommend trying this place out at least once.

La Tavolata has been my go-to for handmade pasta since they opened in Cerritos years ago, so this visit was a bit surprising. I ordered my usual Pappardelle Vodka, but the noodles were overcooked, and the sauce was very milky/lacking flavor. It's normally perfectly balanced, so this was unexpected. We also tried the Scaloppine de Pollo al Limone (similar to a chicken piccata dish). The chicken was juicy, and the sauce had amazing flavor, but the pasta tasted more like ramen noodles than spaghetti, which threw us off. Still giving this 4 stars since this is the first time this happened, and I'm thinking it was just an off day.

My friends and I really love this restaurant, had a good time and the food was great. I recommend to try the Chicken Tortellini btw. Shout out to Agustin Martinez for putting me on.

The restaurant is small with a cozy, intimate, and homey vibe. They are known for their authentic, fresh hand made pasta. Staff were nice and friendly but slow. Our server seemed distracted and/or overwhelmed. We started with garlic bread with bruschetta and a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Good but a bit hard. We ordered: 1) Penne alla Salsiccia: penne pasta with pink sauce, chicken and sausage. 6/10. Chicken was a bit dry. Less meat but a lot of pasta. Taste alright. (I could have sworn my friend ordered the Pappardelle Vodka) hmm 2) Spaghetti alla Carbonara: 5/10 the noodles were overcooked instead of el dente. It was soggy and too creamy that it made my experience disappointing. 3) Chicken dish Scaloppine di Pollo al Limone: 5/10. The chicken was very dry. Taste was not appetizing. Experience was disappointing. 4) Spaghetti ai Frutti Di Mare: 7/10. Combination of clams, mussels, and Shrimps. Our experience was very mediocre. A bit disappointing. I was looking forward for some Italian delicacies. Im not sure if i want to come back. They're not that cheap either

I found my new favorite local Italian spot! We made a reservation for a Friday evening and were seated upon arrival. After ordering, they brought us some of their garlic bread with bruschetta on top. They also give you a little dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was yummy, and I love that you can ask for more! I was eyeing the Spaghetti alla Cammorista that has spicy tomato sauce and chile-garlic shrimp. I wasn't sure how spicy it would be, so our server said they could adjust the spice level to make it less spicy. She also said she would bring some chili flakes on the side in case I wanted to add more spice. It wasn't spicy at all, so I don't think ordering it as is would be too spicy! I appreciated how much shrimp they gave in this dish! The sauce was tasty, and you could tell that the pasta was freshly made. They also bring your parmesan cheese to add in if you'd like. Another dish that seems to come up over and over again on reviews is their Fettuccini Compleanno. It has spicy pink sauce shredded chicken, Andouille sausage, tasso ham, and shrimp. I can definitely see why this one is popular--its so good! The pink sauce is the perfect blend of acidity and creaminess. I enjoyed the variety of ingredients as well. Will definitely be ordering this one again! The servers are friendly and attentive, and we were checked on frequently throughout the meal. Looking forward to coming back again!

This place is absolutely perfect! We ordered three different types of pasta and they were all so delicious! Our waitress was so friendly it really made the experience that much better. We found this place on a whim after a long day at Knott's and I cannot get over how cute the little spot was. Located in a plaza with lots of parking!

Ordered the house red wine, calamari, fettuccine compleanno, tortellini, spaghetti all'amatriciana, and tiramisu. The house red wine tasted great and was a good deal, and al the pastas were awesome. The calamari was pretty good and the tiramisu was ok. Overall, great experience with cozy atmosphere and great service. Parking in the lot was pretty easy on a Thursday night. Truly a gem in the neighborhood!

This is my new favorite local Italian restaurant. The interior is very homey and simple. My party of 6 easily made reservations a week in advance for a weekend dinner, but I think the wait time can be up to 45 minutes. Fairly small on the inside, so if you have a larger party than 4 I'd recommend making a reservation. They bring complimentary bread to your table while you wait for your food. We ordered the calamari, caesar salad, and caprese salad. Everything was good, but the caesar was a bit too salty. I ordered the Penne alla Salsiccia, which is penne pasta with pink sauce, chicken, and Italian sausage. It's my favorite dish from here. Others in my party ordered the Frutti Di Mare spaghetti, lasagna, fettucine alfredo, and more. Everything was good. Service was nice too. They consistently checked on us, refilled waters, and cleared plates. Highly recommend this pasta for great pasta, a nice ambiance, and friendly service.

Really good! The pasta tastes authentic and is surprisingly really tasty! I would pass on the seasonal(?) menu that they have, like the risotto, and stick with the classic stuff. The papardelle vodka was soooooo tasty. My frutti di mare was honestly pretty mid which I was disappointed by. The sauce tasted like ramen..

    Vivian F.

The papardelle and pink sauce here are so good! My favorite dish is the fettuccini cumpleanno, but sub papardelle. The noodles are cooked to a perfect al dente and there is so so much flavor. The cumpleanno also has so much protein so it is a very good amount of food. Definitely one of my favorite pasta places in the area!

I came here for the first time last night with a friend of mine and absolutely loved this little hidden gem! The service was quick and friendly. All of the food was HOT and steaming and fresh. You can taste the freshly hand made pasta. The sauces were rich and creamy and the flavors were so bold and delicious! Lots of fresh garlic on the garlic bread (vampires beware!) The strawberry lemonade was sweet yet refreshing for a warm, summer evening! The inside is pretty small, so make sur you come at a good time as I believe they are only open for dinner time. But you can also just see all the decor with the wine bottles and open kitchen concept just makes you feel like you are in Italy! Will definitely be coming back to trying other dishes because every single plate I seen that other people ordered looked absolutely delicious!

My partner and I came to La Tavolata for our anniversary dinner! I've been once before years ago but truthfully did not remember my experience and I was looking forward to giving this spot another try. Location wise it's sandwiched in between many other businesses in a very busy strip mall. I found parking but I felt I was more lucky than anything else, seeing as it was a very packed lot. The space itself is a small, but charming location perfect for a date night or outing with friends. Since there aren't many tables, reservations seem like a must, but I was able to get a reservation no problem the night before (my reservation however was for a time slot half an hour before they closed so do what you will with that info). The service both over the phone and at the restaurant was stellar. Our server was friendly, helpful, and really great at his job! We ordered a bottle of wine, and he not only gave us recommendations but let us sample a few wines to help us make our selection. He was very attentive and definitely a standout during our visit. The food was also very solid. For starters we originally wanted a house salad, but since it was almost closing, we were told they were out of any salads with leaves. We opted for the Caprese Salad which was unfortunately a let down. While it's a very simple dish it really didn't mesh well overall and I've had way better Caprese salads at other Italian spots. The pasta however was definitely a winner! My Penne alla Salsiccia was tasty and was big enough for leftovers. My partner's Tortellini was also fantastic really hit its mark. Overall we were satisfied with our meal, we just might have enjoyed a different appetizer. La Tavolata is definitely a spot I'd return to again if I was looking for a tasty dinner in the area.

No, to make a reservation, you can call them at (562) 924-8001. They don't take reservations online or through Instagram direct messages. Same day reservations are not accepted after 5PM and for parties of 4 or more they suggest making a reservation… Read more

    Is there any vegan options?

No. I am pretty that the homemade pasta has egg or some type of dairy product that isn't vegan friendly. They can possibly make you a veggie dish but that would ruin the Italian experience of wanting pasta.

    Which pastas are homemade fresh?

All of them, I recommend the lasagna

    Do they have lunch specials?

    Yes they do

What is the wine corkage fee?

Wine Corkage Fee at La Tavolata is $10

Can we bring our own wine, and what is the corkage fee?

Last time I checked, wine Corkage Fee at La Tavolata is $10

    Do they take reservations?

Yes, they do and I don't think the group size matters. I have booked reservations for just 2 people before.

Do they do any celebration for birthdays?

Nope! They make you pay for your birthday dessert.

Do they allow you to bring your own bottle? Do they have a corkage fee?

Yes you are allowed to bring in your own bottle. The corkage fee is minimal, I believe maybe $15 at most. We have brought in a bottle a couple of times with no problems :)

We didn't have reservations, so we expected a wait. The restaurant was packed, and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seated. We ordered the truffle garlic bread, spicy rigatoni vodka, squid ink tonnarreli and a pizza with half The Pig and half hot honey prosciutto. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - 4/5 The dish was delicious, and you could definitely tell the pasta was handmade. It wasn't spicy at all to me, but I also have a pretty high spice tolerance. I do wish it had more meat, and the portion size felt a little small. I was shocked to find out it was nearly 2,000 calories for the amount served. Squid Ink Tonnarreli - 5/5 This was probably my favorite dish of the night. It was rich, savory, and really flavorful. I'd never had squid ink pasta before, although I've had Filipino squid cooked in squid ink many times. The dish came with squid, shrimp, and a spicy tomato-based sauce. We asked for it mild, but I honestly think it would've been even better spicy. The portion size was good too. Pizza - 3/5 Since they make handmade pasta, I assumed the pizza dough would be amazing, but it was just average. Parts of the crust were a little burnt. The Pig (their all-meat pizza) was okay but slightly too salty for me. The hot honey prosciutto side was better, although they were pretty light on the toppings. I probably wouldn't order pizza here again. Truffle Garlic Bread - 4/5 Really good, but overpriced at $18.50 for 9 small square pieces. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and very buttery. Customer Service - 5/5 Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and explained the menu really well. I appreciated that she mentioned the spice levels could be adjusted on certain dishes. She also refilled my iced tea without me having to ask and even brought me a to-go cup for it. Overall, we had a good experience. The food was solid, and the service was great. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, especially compared to similar restaurants, and I was surprised they didn't offer complimentary bread. I'm glad I tried it, but I'm not sure if I'd go back regularly.

Located in the same space at Bakers and Baristas, the restaurant was flipped into Luka in the evening hours. Dimly lit for a romantic vibe, the ambiance was warm yet approachable. What initially drew me to Luka was seeing photos of their Chicken Liver Mousse! The mousse itself is rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious! It comes on a croissant with a seasonal fruit compote (ours was blueberry). It's also so gorgeous! A dish that truly tasted as good as it looks. The next dish we had was the Grilled Oyster Mushrooms. These completely blew us away! Something about the use of agrodolce, garlic, fennel pollen, chili powder, and red harissa made the flavor so savory and complex. I've never had mushrooms prepared in this way before. I will really miss these! We also had the Brussel Sprouts with pork jus glaze, chicharron, scallion, and fresno. I really enjoyed the different textures from the ingredients, including the crunch from the chicharrons. We had to get one of their signature dishes, the Potato Situation! Crispy on the outside with potato and melted provolone on the inside, they give a very generous portion of parmigiano reggiano and chive dust on top. Such a fun dish to cut into! For our last dish, we got the Crab Pasta. It came with fusilli, a rich cream sauce, capers, and calabrian toasted panko--a great ending to the meal! Enjoyed the spumoni but I would skip tiramisu when coming back: beautifully presented but all the art was on the plate, instead of in the flavor of the tiramisu. Ricci's has been around since 1944. But from the outside and inside, you wouldn't guess that. The building seems pretty modern, as well as the interior, a somewhat classic upscale vibe. I really want to like this place (I have a fondness for historic dining) and I look forward to coming back to try the sandwiches and the pizza, both of which look good.

From my first outreach, Adriana was very responsive and helpful. We reserved the date and time, and then Adriana helped us decide on a menu which included appetizers, pasta dishes, salad, meatballs, dessert and more. They also offered a full bar for the luncheon. We were able to do all the planning, etc. over the phone. The day of the luncheon, we arrived early and were greeted by Christian who was our main contact. He brought two extra tables into the room so we could set up photo displays, and quickly and seamlessly reacted when our headcount went from 30 people to 36 just minutes before guests were scheduled to arrive. In addition to Christian, Benji and Alondra ensured the comfort of our guests by offering drinks, refills, quick clean-up of table settings as we moved to the next meal offering, and many other kindnesses. Our guests commented not only on the beautiful room and the food, but on the friendliness and professionalism of the crew. A'Roma's private room is beautiful, and the afternoon was truly amazing. What a great place and a great way to celebrate the life of our mother. A BIG "thank you!" from my family to Adriana, Christian, Benji, Alondra, and the entire kitchen team.

Fast forward to today and things are much better. The one constant is Marino's is still a nice place to eat. My understanding is they changed ownership in the past couple years. You would not be able to tell. The service is still outstanding as is the food. The new owners have not missed a beat. Recently we celebrated my 93 year old father in law's second retirement. We had a group of 9 which the staff dealt with really well. I had the pasta with artichoke hearts. I should order something else sometime, but it is so good. That dish has been consistent for the 40+ years I have eaten here. So has everything else.

What really surprised me is how Marino's manages to get that same warm, buttery, nostalgic flavor that I was loving the garlic bread that they used to sold in Ralph's on Wardlow Rd Long Beach, California in the 2011, but still make it feel like their own thing. It's honestly kind of cool that a place in Bellflower can remind me so much of a restaurant all the way in Ventura, especially since I wasn't expecting that at all when I first tried it. On top of that, the rest of the food matches the same level of comfort and quality. Every dish feels like it was made with actual care, and as someone who's still figuring out what my favorite Italian foods even are, it's fun to try things here because everything ends up tasting way better than I expect. The service also makes the whole experience even better, because everyone treats you like you're a regular even if it's your first time walking in. It gives the place this friendly, welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back again without even thinking about it. The atmosphere is another thing I really like, because it feels relaxed in a way that makes it easy to enjoy your food without feeling rushed. It's the kind of place where you can sit with your family or friends and just enjoy being there while eating something really good. Overall, Marino's Italian Restaurant in Bellflower, California, is one of those spots that ends up sticking in your mind, especially when something as simple as their garlic bread can bring back memories from another city while still feeling totally unique to this place.
