After noticing what I thought was an oil leak after a recent oil change they checked my car and were able to diagnose an unrelated issue. Ferg was helpful and responsive and went above and beyond. Same as some other customers. Drove from Florida and never needed a mask anywhere. Walked in guy said I needed a mask. Whatever went back into my car got a mask. Walked back in as the owner was talking to a tech. You guessed it, tech had his mask below his chin. Whatever again, went into the drive through in my car and the tech asked me to put up my mask. Told him I was vaccinated and asked why the mask mandate. Owner says "just put up your mask" like I was a five year old. Not a "we are still Trying to be careful " or some reasonable response. Had em close the hood and left . I hope this bum goes out of business. He lost mine after 12 years. Probably no accident I got right in. read more

Every time I took my truck there, they put on the paper they give you that said my grease zerts are sealed so they cannot grease them. They are NOT, I've greased them many times. They are to LAZY to do it. Don't go there. If you do, when you get home make sure you grease your zerts. read more

Apparently when they say they close at 5:00, what they actually mean is they close at "430 or so". I flew out of work and got there at 435 and doors were locked and closed sign was up. I knocked on the door and that's what I was told by the fella standing inside doing nothing. I woulda figured for a 10 minute oil change place they coulda got me done and on my way home well before actual closing time. Very disappointing. read more

They charged us almost $100 for a full synthetic oil change to start, then did not perform 1/2 the services listed on the invoice. When i called to let them know the work was not done the guy called me "ma'am" about 10 times, cut me off and refused to address the concern. I looked under vehicle after I got home and the slob who did the under car work got oil everywhere. Will never go there again, awful. read more

My daughter was home for the weekend before finals week at CSU Pueblo. Of course she waited until the last minute to head home for exams. She headed out of town and when she hit her brakes the sound that they made was horrendous! Metal on metal, because it literally was just that. She had mentioned they were "squeaking"! She was near Valvoline when she pulled over to call me. I called Jim at Valvoline and he said to tell her to get straight there. She did and they pulled the car in immediately and saw that she had destroyed her brake pads...long ago and was doing a number on the calipers! They didn't have the right part so they ordered it. I thought I'd have to drive her to Pueblo because this was going to take days, right? Nope! Part got in early the next morning and the car was ready at 9:30 a.m. Her sociology final was at 1:00. I am AMAZED by the service I got at this place! They've gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me. Today, I thought I'd need to get my front end aligned; they said all I needed was to have my tires rebalanced. I thought I would need brake work, too, but they said my brakes were fine and didn't need anything. I took my car in to get the tires rotated and was told it wasn't worth it as the rear tires, which would have been moved to the front were to the core. I told the guy that these tires weren't very old and still under warranty. So, I drove to Denver to the place I purchased the tires only to be told my tires are fine, evenly worn all around and they rotated them for me. I highly suspect this outfit thought they could sell me new tires and since I'm a female I wouldn't question them. Do NOT trust them. I have had my oil changed there, but I will never go back. I wasted 6 hours of driving based on this asshole company. Also, I called them today (12/21/2020) to speak to the owner/manager about this and he apologized but didn't offer anything to help make this right. Maybe you all can pay for my gas that I wasted? I was going on a trip and had the oil changed here. They gave me a list of what they checked. It said all filters were ok. Well while I was out the check engine light came on I had it checked and they found the air filter was clogged with sand. They had a chance to sell a new filter but they chose to be lazy and tell me it was fine. Can't be trusted. They have lost my business. read more

I am retired, on a fixed income, and usually change my oil carefully my self on schedule (every 3,000 miles). Recent time schedule made me unable to change the oil myself so I brought it to here. Bottom line is, they never actually changed the oil, but acted like they did and charged me $45. I know because, I drew a sample after they supposedly changed it, and it was just as dirty as it was when I arrived. They also "cranked" on my drain plug so hard that a four foot extension on a ratchet had to be used to even get it off. I called and confronted them, and they said the car must have not been in good condition. Unfair, unethical, and I will never go back. read more

The day after Christmas, we broke down in Salida on our way up to Monarch. We needed someone to replace a belt that had melted while driving, but most places were not open because of the holiday. Luckily Valvoline was, and the guys working there were fantastic - they didn't only replace the belt, but also located the cause of the melt and replaced that part too (if they hadn't, the new belt would have just melted all over again). They even let us come into the bay to have a look and show us what was wrong! Not every place will do that and those that do certainly come across as honest people not trying to nickel and dime you by making up things that need replaced. They got us back on the road in no time at all, and were so friendly and professional! If I ever need work done in the Salida area again, I would definitely come back. read more

Have stopped in 10 minutes before closing and was able to get my oil changed. They also on another occasion fixed a tire for me (that was not one of theirs) and only charged like 10 bucks or so - and were so courteous and attentive. Recently needed new tires and normally go to Costco - but decided to give them a try. The tires were better and less expensive than Costco - and the same free services for the life of the tire were guaranteed. Also love the waiting room, the dog, and i can bring my dog. I was flattened by how great the reception, discussion of possible problems, and eventual diagnosis went. I had a great experience with Jim yesterday at Valvoline. We were visiting friends in Howard, driving a rental car, when we got a flat tire from a slow leak. Our friends, along with another local, suggested that we go to Valvoline for the repair. Jim fixed the tire in 15 minutes and then insisted that we didn't need to pay him for it. As a Californian this was a bit shocking. I wanted to get Hertz to pay him, as it was there responsibility. But he said repeatedly that it was no problem. While I was waiting I also noticed as two other customers were told that all they needed was an oil change even when filters and other items were checked. No unnecessary add-ons, no slippery attempts to squeeze out a dollar. Just plain and simple honest business practices. How refreshing. Thank you Jim.
