My daughter was in on 3/28 for an oil change. They constantly came to her telling she needed an engine flush, that the coolant it uses would cause water pump issues and multiple different things. When she got home, her oil light was back on and there was no oil in the vehicle. They preferred trying to up charge her for things she didn't need. We were traveling cross country using a vehicle we hadn't planned on driving, so we felt the need to stop for an oil change. We had a 50% off coupon at Valvoline so stopped to get this change accomplished. The staff was all super friendly; they filled all of our fluids and even checked the cabin filter. However, the low rating was due to the actual oil change. We drove away satisfied until 3 hours later we realized we had fluid leaking under our vehicle. Our invoice stated they installed a Valvoline Oil Filter. We happened to be near another Valvoline in Bismark ND. The ND facility brought us in and when they checked the filter, they noted that it was an off-brand unit and it had grit around the edge, which they stated was causing the leak. So back to the MN facility, the oil change was far from adequate. We called the owner and was just told the person who did the service would be talked to. That seemed like an inadequate response for something that could have caused a very serious situation if we had not stopped as soon as we did. read more

Staff noted incorrect information on the invoice. Including 'No oil on dipstick' and 'oil pan gasket leak' there was a slight drip from the oil drain plug gasket that was it. I was very much pressured into buying stop leak for my engine, and the staff was very rude when I asked to stand outside my car due to my own anxiety (I do not like to sit in my car while it is being service) They were extremely rude and said "There are cameras everywhere if something happens" I never said anything was going to happen or it was my concern. They insisted on checking the transmission fluid level on my car with a manual transmission that doesn't have a dipstick. I was unimpressed with the quality and rudeness of the staff and will not be returning. read more

They Did not accept Valvoline coupons. If you google "Moorhead Valvoline", the first link to come up is a Valvoline instant oil change coupon. I clicked on it, went to VALVOLINES WEBSITE and saved the coupon, which they still did not accept. A normal oil change was $90! Absurd pricing. Robert, the technician was rude. I was appalled that my bill for a basic synthetic oil change was $79.95 plus tax today. Also, I was charged $44 for a A/C filter that normally costs $20. Their internet/credit card system was down so I didn't even get an itemized bill. I called the manager to let him know that I was unsatisfied with that price and that Corwin charges half that amount for the same service. I was very nice about my complaint. The manager would not give me a discount and did not offer me ANY incentive to return. I explained to the manager that I was forgiving with them today when their internet/credit card machine was down, but still, he would not budge or offer me any kind of discount, incentive, etc. I will NEVER return to Valvoline in Moorhead, MN. read more

I was in line for 2 minutes and they got me right in. I was treated very well and everything was explained fully before performing service on my vehicle. You also get a code for a free car wash, which is in the same building, you just drive out of service area and around to the front and into the car wash. Don't go here. Their simple mistake causes me $100 at a repair shop. By being in too much of a hurry to screw my oil cap back on, I had to pay to have a "leak" repaired. I emailed the company website and did not get a solution or response. read more

I also contacted the Valvoline website customer service and did not recieve a response. I had my oil change done in Moorhead and we left on a cross country trip to San Diego. When we arrived there were large oil spots on the driveway where we were staying. I checked the oil level and found the oil was over 3 quarts low. We immediately got our vehicle to the dealer who found that the gaskets were missing after the oil change was completed. I wrote in the website the dealers name, address, and phone number to contact to verify the gaskets were missing. We were very lucky the car did not break down on our cross country trip. I cannot believe that Valvoline would not contact me when they discovered they did not put the gaskets back in. Our car is less than 6 months old. I have been a Vavoline customer exclusivly for years and feel angry and cheated that they will not even awknowlegde they did this. read more

We were on a road trip from Miami to Seattle and the tire air pressure light came on. It was early in the morning and the Valvoline station was right across from our hotel. The guys there were so nice, helpful and professional. All three of them assisted us. They pulled the car in and checked the air pressure in all tires, found the problem and we were back on the road again in no time. Great service! If I'm ever in Moorhead again I will definitely take my car there for service. read more
