I spoke to my boss at work and he recommended Mike's Southside. It was close to work so I decided to run it over there hoping for just an oil change and new brake pads. I knew something else was probably wrong with my car because for well over year my Nissan Murano was being extremely loud and I had been asking the place I used to bring it( I won't name them specifically but they are a "big" lot in Moorhead ;)) what was wrong, they would just tell me that Nissans are just loud cars and my car was fine. It turns out that not only did I need an oil change and brake pads and new rotors, but my car was not safe to drive-the wheel bearings and hubs all needed to be replaced and were basically about to fall off- and that was what was making my car extremely loud. Mike saw that I was panicking about what the cost would be as my finances are super tight at the moment. He went out of his way to call around for the best possible prices on parts, he got me in that same day (I dropped my car off while I was on a break at work and picked it up during a later break that same day), and he gave me a deal on everything and he made sure I could afford it. It was still a lot more money than I was expecting to spend at the beginning of the day, but anywhere else it would have been much, much more expensive. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but a friend of mine who does know a lot looked up prices of all the parts that they replaced and considering what labor should have been and how quickly they did everything, my friend told me the price was unbelievably fair. As a woman who knows nothing about cars, I know I am easy to take advantage of when it comes to work needing to be done on my car. I really felt that Mike and his team had my best interest at heart. I feel like my own dad was taking care of my car that day. My car is now quiet and drives like brand new. This place has won my loyalty and I will be going there from now on! It started with them ordering the wrong part so that took an extra week to fix. Then they suggested some fixes that I didn't think the car needed so prolly trying to oversell me. But finally everything is all fixed and I get my car back. Within 15 miles the car is overheated and I pull over to let it cool down. Brought the car back to the shop immediately. They told me they checked the coolant, even had a report on how good it was looking. There was no coolant in my car. This shop is terrible. I spent $5,000 fixing my car with them and paid and extra $300 with another shop to fix the things they screwed up. Also they said they would call me this week to explain the situation to me and I still haven't hear from them. Don't trust them, go somewhere else... seriously

At 3000 miles she wanted a rotation and alignment because it was pulling to the right. They said it's too soon. When they did rotate the tires they didn't provide any paperwork because it was free. So when at 25,000 miles her tires were showing excessive wear, they wouldn't warranty the tires. They said she hadn't kept up with her rotations and it was her fault. She ended up taking her business somewhere else and so should you!

I lost about 1 1/2 gallons before I could bring the car back. When I brought it back they pressure tested it. I suspect they may have repositioned or retightened the hoses, but the upshot is that the car doesn't leak anymore. They must have missed something the first time around but they were responsible and had the car back and fixed it without any extra charges. Car works, I'm glad

The company I work for had this company do all the maintenance on their vehicles so I have spent…read moresome time here. I had a personal job for spark plugs to do on my own vehicle and thought I could trust them. The spark plugs were a design flaw 2 piece design that break off in the heads. You need a special tool which is $100 so I asked them to do it. The service writer Justin said they had the tool and could do the work. After complete I asked him if they broke any spark plugs and he replied "We didn't break any" I said "Great" and drove away. A week later I started experiencing problems. P0420 code which is for Catalytic converter plugged. I replaced that and then got a P0171 code, which is too lean. After several parts I decided to pull the plugs. #6 and #8 were broke off in the head and had to be extracted. The two broken plugs were loose not like the others. After removing all 8 it was found that they did not do the job. I sent a picture to Justin and he denied that they did not do the job. He said that they would do the right thing and make it right, but when I spoke with Bruce the owner he was very rude and just wanted to pay me off for the labor and spark plugs. He also denied that they did not do the job. More recently my company requested a quote for catalytic converter on a bus where it had been cut off. Justin quoted us $597 over on the price of the converter alone. If you get work done here get a quote, check the pricing and check to make sure the work was done right. Also request that Technician #76 does not do any work. That was the technician that didn't do the work and lied about it. In the pics provided you can clearly see the difference between the old design and the new one. You can clearly see rust on the old plugs so they are not newly replaced. When I showed Bruce the plugs he tried to tell me maybe I received old stock and still denied that they did not do the work. So much for doing the right thing! I don't like writing bad reviews, but in this case I believe I should warn people since your vehicle is your lively hood. We need shops who we can trust. I understand things break but be transparent with your customers and don't blame them for your mechanics wrong doing.

I went in today to have my AC looked at and a break check done. They have a June special of $9.99…read moreAC check and free break inspections. When I dropped off my vehicle I told Travis at the front desk that the AC wasn't working and I needed to have the breaks looked at as well. I asked if he would call me before doing any work because I know the AC isn't working but I don't know why. He said yes they'd give me a call. It was almost an hour later and I still hadn't received a call, so I called them back to see what they found was wrong. I was told they had recharged the AC, we're doing a break inspection, and my bill would be $336.00! I was very upset because that is not what we discussed when I dropped my vehicle off and the work was not authorized beforehand. My total bill was $367.16! I was told by Travis that's the only way they can check what's wrong with an AC is to recharge it. I asked what the AC service check for $9.99 includes then?! Travis said, that service includes turning your AC on and feeling if it blows cold air or not." I will never go back to this place and am appalled that they advertise a special AC check for only $9.99 that really ends up being a charge of $367.16 for an AC recharge!
