Went on a Sunday around 11 o'clock. They were busy completely expected. The gentleman came out I said good morning. He said nothing back looked at me. I said I would like an oil change. At that point he still hasn't said anything to me except it's going to be at least an hour. There's only three of us on and walked away without a word. Great, convenient spot for car upkeep and needs. You can be in and out of here in 10-15 minutes with a quick, efficient oil change and most other car systems and settings checked. They'll make recommendations for other things you might need based on systems check or car age, but no pressure or hard sell to do anything else but what you come in for. In addition to frequent oil changes have also had cars inspected here and air conditioning checked, fixed and refilled. Been going to this location for awhile with various cars. I own 9 cars so sometimes it's just easier to let someone else do fluid services . Refused to do an oil change on a 2008 Saab 9-5. Told me when they scanned the barcode information on my car no information came up. Given how this car has been serviced before by them on several other occasions I find that hard to believe. No matter, I told them exactly the type and quantity of oil that goes in the car and they still refused. If Valvoline truly has no information on a model of car where 900,000+ were produced that is concerning. More likely they have lazy staff that just did not want to work. They had 3 empty bays and a bunch of people standing around. Guess they would rather hang out than work. Saabs are one of the most simple cars to work on. If they can't figure out how to do the oil change on a simple V4 I would seriously warn everyone to go elsewhere. read more

After I gave a very poor review of the service I received at Valvoline, the shop manager contacted me and said they would send a check to refund me for the oil change. Within 2 weeks, I received a check for $100.?? (and some change). I appreciate that. I still had to spend $ to clean the oil off my asphalt driveway. Thankfully, my car only leaked a quart of oil before I discovered they had not seated the oil plug properly, and my car was not damaged. read more

These guys are great! Honestly I know this place makes money of pushing services but they never get mad or rude when you say no. Manager is very professional. Professional, friendly, quick, and complete. Checked all exterior lights, engine fuel filter, all fluids. Good choice of regular, semi-synthetic, and full synthetic oil at reasonable prices. Even with a skid plate that has to be removed from my car, the change was fast. I was in a bit of a rush and they got me on my way much quicker than I thought they'd be able to. read more

Valvoline Queensbury, NY - Arrived there this morning to have car inspected. I did not have an appointment as when you call there, the message says "no appointment needed. Upon arrival I was told that I could not be seen until Tuesday of next week. Meanwhile the young girl that pulled in next to me also did not have any appointment . She was able to wait. REALLY. Don't go there unless you are young and pretty. Total discrimination in my book!!! read more

I got an oil change and inspection today and they had three bays full of cars but got us in and out very quickly. They went out of their way offer good customer service and provided my children with cold drinks while we waited. Drove 30 minutes out of the way to go to a Valvoline and get an oil change to be turned away because it's a cab over van that takes 20 seconds to get to the engine fill. All other valvolines have changed my oil. Everyone was sitting around not doing anything and no cars in any bays to work on. Went to Jiffy Lube down the road and they had a good time laughing about it while changing my oil without issue. read more

The franchise owner and staff have to be some of the most clueless people on this earth. I called ahead of coming to the shop to ask if they would be able to do the oil change. I was put on hold, the lady checked into the vehicle I have, said they have the filters and they can do it. I get to the shop, wait 40 minutes in line just to pull in and them tell me they can't do it. Poor excuse of a business, poor management and lack of communication is sickening. So the franchise owner, Mike is running this place into the ground. read more

First time here. All in one oil change and inspection, wipers changed...all set, great staff

Came in for a state inspection. After waiting 20 minutes was told the car has failed because they can't unscrew a lug-nut on the tire. I said "how are you feeling my car because your employee cannot unscrew a lug nut?" Was told its the state law. I said "I understand the state law and I also understand an employee that you're responsible for can't unscrew a lug nut, how is that my failure?" They illegally pulled my sticker because their employee wasn't strong enough or experienced enough to unscrew a bolt. They also charged my card after their employee was not experienced enough to take a wheel off for a simple state inspection. Left there and took my car to Viele's Auto ((518) 623-5588) who took the car in. Took the tires off and passed the state inspection with no issue. I asked Viele's if there was any problem with the lug nuts or the tires and was told "not at all, they came off with no issue. This car should have never failed. It's in great condition." Had to call my bank and file a claim to get my money back. There are so many other places you can go to an Queensbury and Lake George. Go somewhere with experienced mechanics that are honest and know what they're doing. You get what you pay for. They can deal with the bank now. read more

I'm vouching for this Valvoline location...went here for an oil change after a strong recommendation. My service guy Matthew R. is professional, efficient, patience, seems like an all-around nice guy. He did not pressure me to do any "extras", he showed me my air filters and windshield wipers and gave me his honest assessment without the pressure to replace. I find it intimidating to go and get my car maintenance, but felt very comfortable as I was told to stay in my vehicle during the duration of the service. This place is fairly priced with their three types of oil change offerings- I chose the least expensive. Towards the end, he showed me the dipstick to assure me that the motor oil was replaced. Felt good driving off after it was done and will certainly be back. Highly recommend! read more

This Place even though they have no one in the bays refuse to inspect your vehicle and do a oil change because they are the most lazy and sarcastic people on earth.. I had been going there since the opened but thanks to the treatment I got I will never go there again! I know that you have to make a appointment to get a NYS inspection but when there is no body there? Also when I complained to customer service they called to see if there was anything she could do and even though no one was there as punishment for even calling they tried for a appointment 9 hours later and the people in the background thought is was funny because I heard them Laugh. I work in management at a local dealership, over the past 3 years. our dealership alone has received about 2-3 phone calls from irate customers who are at this place and are being told either there car does not pass inspection or something is wrong with the car when in fact there is nothing wrong with the cars or if there was, it was a minor thing that we did take care of. but this place in an effort to make money tells people something is wrong with there car when its likely there is nothing wrong and it just VIOC just trying to get money from a unsuspecting customer, on 2 occasion i recall it was women who had no knowledge of what they were being told and certainly didn't know they were just being sold a bag of bull....i would avoid this place but at the very least if you must go there tell them to stick to oil changes and nothing else, and dont go there for inspections..... read more

these guys are Lazy and do no more than they have to do. going in for an oil change and state inspection and they tell you you have to make an appointment when all bays are empty with no one waiting I was going there with my 5 cars up to last year because their attitude and customer service sucks! if you want to be treated fair go to jiffy lube , they have a great attitude and respect your business read more

Went there a couple weeks ago for an oil change on my Hyundai Sonata. Been using this place for about a year. Everyone was nice and professional, but one thing stood out: when he showed me a clean air filter, he said it looked good. Sounds funny, right? Every other time in other places, the techs tell you it's bad when it's obviously clean and try to sell you one. Thank you for small bit of honesty and not insulting my intelligence. read more

I took my old Civic to this Valvoline for the couple of years when I was working up in Glens Falls. I really miss this store. The guys who work here are really great, they know what they're doing and I never felt like they were overselling me on anything. I sort of wished they were a full-service auto mechanic. I got as much work done here as possible. The service was fast, efficient and friendly...sort of a well-oiled machine (oy). Seriously, though, these guys get you in, explain what they're doing, give you the manufacturers recommendations, answer any questions you may have and send you on your way. I go here when the men in my family are busy. They go over everything with you, manufactures suggestions and what not. They will tell you if you need something done other than having your oil changed. I took my car (cadillac) to Walmart to have the oil changed (Out of convenience, had to get groceries) and was told that my oil could not be changed because the cap was smashed in... I left and went to Valvoline who told me not to worry, there was no damage to my car. They explained that a special tool was needed and that Walmart probably did not have that tool.
