Very poor delivery (significant charge), followed by radio silence/no customer service to explain the mess they created.

I love visiting Sheridan Nurseries as they have a huge selection of plants. I came here looking for…read morehydrangeas and they have around 10 different varieties of them! There's a nice selection of outdoor flowers and plants, trees, indoor plants, furniture, and gardening tools. The plants here look amazing and healthier than ones you would find at a typical Canadian Tire or Home Depot. However, do expect to pay a lot more for better-looking plants (i.e a $20 hydrangea at Canadian Tire would be $40 here). The staff here are friendly and are very knowledgeable so don't hesitate on asking about the plants. My first visit was during their Customer Appreciation Event meaning that all in-stock items were 25% off (not sure how often they have this event). Nonetheless, if you're willing to spend some extra money for a fantastic looking garden or for a hard to find plant, this is the place!

Very disappointing experience with Sheridan Nurseries…read more I want to make it clear that the other store employees I interacted with were very polite, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, the experience with the store manager was completely different. The attitude and lack of respect shown by the manager toward a customer were very disappointing and unacceptable. Instead of trying to help resolve the situation professionally, the manager's attitude made me feel that my concerns and my business were simply not valued. It is unfortunate because the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I had a completely different impression of them. After this experience, I will not be returning to Sheridan Nurseries. There are many other places where customers can spend their money and receive the level of respect and customer service they deserve. I cannot recommend this location based on my experience with the store manager.

Another day, another garden centre as a willing hostage for my sweetheart!…read more It seems I've (we've) been on a country tour of these venues for the past few months. Another city, another eye appealing experience. There was no customer lineup here for entry. It was sunny but high humidity was in the air. Still, it the 3rd day of Step 1 for the re-opening of Ontario and it was sooooo nice to be outdoors today. This Mississauga store is mid-sized compared to recent ginormous garden centres recently visited. Indoor and outdoor product selection was great and pricing was excellent! Aisles are narrow and a shopping basket is the way to go both inside and outdoors. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Checkout was quick. (Just wish staff wouldn't complain about another staff being late for a shift in front customers...easily minus one star!) Parking is limited at the front entrance but there are more spots at the side of the building. Wait for it..... Yes, we came home with 5 plant additions to the home!

Also, this Home Depot is next to a Loblaws and Shopper's Drug Mart. You could probably get your groceries and pick up large packages while getting home improvement supplies. If you are planning on getting any succulents and/or cacti, please do your research and change the soil. Stores like Home Depot are never good at taking care of plants and don't know how to. Also, the succulents and cacti usually don't have right soil to grow in.

Not my kinda shopping! ;) The last time I was here - and another location - the staff seemed to be ALL seniors who weren't particularly technologically inclined, i.e. didn't know how to find things, took forever to look an item up, etc. This time? I came in, there was a worker, eager and waiting in the exact same aisle that I was in. I showed her what I was looking for and she eventually found it. She did NOT have any kind of device on her to allow her to search for the item herself, so I found that a bit strange as a sales associate. Everyone probably already knows this, but the HD website is quite good. If you look something up, in the particular store that you're at, the site will tell you exactly how many that's in the inventory, what aisle/row to locate it in! Checkout was also a breeze with a young cashier standing eagerly in front of her til letting me know that she was free. It seemed like all their old timers were replaced with younger, foreign workers. So new manager perhaps? In any event, it was a pleasant change from my previous experiences!
