It was just $2.50 per person and the orange line goes directly to Midway. This is the last stop on the line. Plus, we got there at least 15 minutes earlier than the UBER/Lyft ETA. There is Hope. Interesting to see the suicide & crisis lifeline information at the station. Call, chat or text 988 if you need help. A shocking murder-suicide in Houston earlier this week, this sign really made me think. On this Mother's Day, hug your mom, your children, your grandparents a little tighter.

An efficient station that will connect you to sights within downtown Chicago like Grant Park, The Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and even the Historic Route 66 Begin Sign; the iconic Historic Route 66 Begin Sign which is located downstairs of this elevated platform. At this station you can also transfer to other lines like green, pink, purple, orange, and brown. Opened by Lake Street Elevated Railroad in 1896 before being incorporated into Charles Yerkes's Union Loop in October 1897. From back then to now, the station has had its share of renovations and makeovers. It is well-maintained, yet with some clear signs of cracked paint and rust on its interior frame. And I also could not ignore the faded out social distancing signs which will forever remind us of covid-19 in the years to come. I have to say that my visits to-and-from CTA - Adams/Wabash have been very pleasant, thankfully! The seats are comfortable. The conductors are professional, and most of all, the train is on time most of the time. I don't have to deal with expensive parking, and walk underground to the elevator to my office. Sweet! I go to the office twice a week and enjoy unwinding on the train. I prepare for meetings, too. The train takes you to the museums stop, Hyde Park, the south burbs, and the University of Chicago. It's the cheapest and most convenient way to visit the city.

Some require that you hike a mountain of stairs. Jeesh. This one is accessible. It's a good point to be able to transfer between the red and blue lines of the CTA system. There are plenty of elevators. I just don't wanna think about what those puddles are in the elevators. There's a walkway that connects the two train lines, which could use more inspiration. Mexico City's subway has the Tunnel of Science where they try to teach you about scientific stuff with murals and such. Nothing like that here. At least they have some decorative tile "J" mosaics on the platforms. When I went, it wasn't so crowded.

The Southshore ticket from Millennium Station to South Bend Is less than $15.00. The train was clean, no problem finding a seat. I was one of 6 people in the train car. They had many , I guess it was not a busy day. This saves me a when I visit my daughter in Chicago. The train ride was about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes longer than it took me by car. Great value !!!!!!! I save money so I can buy that bottle of Casamigos or not. . The South Shore has many stops in Chicago and stops in South Bend at the airport.

When I arrived at the station, I got notified OUTSIDE THE TRACKS that they were operating on the Weekend/Holiday schedule, and the earliest train wasn't till 9:20. I was notified nowhere in the app that they had decided to change the train schedule. Everyone in the train station has been walking around frantic, calling family members and friends, and not knowing what to do because South Shore train line decided to not update their customers that they had decided to change their freaking schedule. I am very frustrated and dozens of people are currently stranded here late into the night. this is not safe and this is affecting people's lives. You guys need to do a better job at notifying your customers when you change the entire train schedule. This is not convenient and I am very angry.

We were there midday on Tuesday on one of the hottest days in June. Fortunately, the signage was clear and we got to the correct platform. Plus the wait for the train wasn't long. Chicago has a great public transportation train system.

It's a busy station, and unless you're a frequent traveler, it can be difficult to figure out which track your train will depart from and exactly where you're supposed to line up. The signage and boarding process can be a bit overwhelming for first-time or occasional passengers. They do have a customer service counter, and I've found the staff there to be helpful if you have the time to stop and ask questions. Having rail service from Milwaukee to downtown Chicago is a tremendous convenience, and Union Station remains a beautiful gateway to the city. With a little clearer wayfinding, it would be an even better experience.
