This store does not want people to buy anything. Husband and I are almost 50 and went to get myself an anniversary present. I have multiple cartier pieces on me, so obviously wear designer jewelry but had not bought VC yet. We never got past the front area as we mentioned pieces we wanted to see. Never engaged more than pleasantries. Told them if they got one specific piece in, then call us. No other shoppers are in this store for a reason! We walked down to Cartier which was a mob scene. Bought a beautiful piece there. The one VC we asked for them to call us became available online and ordered it there. Then ordered a second piece online. If we had developed a relationship with a salesperson there or if they cared at all, we would have gone through the store. Curious if their new store will be better. Probably not. I stopped by to take my necklace to adjusted and I got so poor service, kept asking me "have you been here before 3-4 times" and act like me so poorly. I had been there asking for necklace that I wanted but they will never have it and take my name and phone number but never called me and then today I stopped by to adjusted and ask me why I bought it online, they said we always have it in store why not come by duhh. I had a wonderful experience in the store today. I was in New Jersey on vacation and me and my three daughters went in and they were so polite to us. We were wearing sweatpants not dressed up at all they treated us like royalty. I found a beautiful ring that I'm going to have my husband get me for my birthday! Having bought lots of pieces under my profile and been treated nicely at other VCA salons, never been treated so badly like here-- all staffs just kept ignoring me and my husband since we entered the store, and when we asked for some bracelets and necklaces to try on, they just said "we don't have anything for you to try on everything is for display only"... I had a disappointing experience in this store when I tried to return something I received at Christmas. They strongly discouraged me from returning the item and told me to return in a week when they had more items in stock. It turns out this is not a real company owned Van Cleef store. It is owned by London Jewelers so they do not have access to the computer system of official company owned stores in New York and Chicago. If there is any chance you might want to exchange an item, it would be worth a trip to NY. read more

Van Cleef de Arpels in the Short Hills Mall deserves the highest praise. Recently, I needed a gift that I had to have the next day. I was not able to get there, but, spoke at length to the store manager, Laura. She was great. She asked the right questions and directed me to just the right piece. It was shipped to me overnight and arrived without any problem.  It's rare to find this level of service to customers and I will continue to shop there in the future. I purchased a Vintage Alhambra necklace for my daughter in the Short Hills Mall,12/2019. At that time they did not have the Certificate of Authenticity at the store. They told me that I could pick it up or they would send it to me. By the time they got it in the store Covid hit. They did not send it to me. I finally made it back to the mall during this holiday season, 2021. My two daughters and I were greeted frostily by the security guard at the velvet rope. We walked into the store and the 4 sales people that were sitting at their stations did NOT rise to greet or meet us. I asked the first woman for help and she instructed us that Laura would be helping us. Laura did not identify herself nor did she get up from her chair to acknowledge us. When I stated why we were there she asked me my name and the name of the jewelry. I told her it was a necklace and it was right in the case in front of her. She ignored me and kept asking me the name of the necklace. Finally I asked her if she could not see it on the computer that was displayed with my name and the piece of jewelry that was right in front of her. She said she could but she wanted to know if I knew that it was ONE YEAR ago that I purchased the necklace. She repeated this question about 3 more times. I asked her if there was a problem. She said no but continued with the same Nasty attitude. My daughter reminded her that there was a a pandemic. Rude, condescending, arrogant, adjectives to describe Laura. Van Cleef- you should probably re-train Laura. Honestly maybe the whole store. Do Not go to Short Hills Mall to buy Van Cleef!!! read more
