Wendy is a true animal lover, caring for your pets as if they were her own. She is compassionate and has gone out of her way to make sure that our cats were comfortable while we've been out of town. Thank you, Wendy, for taking such good care of our beloved senior cats.

As I've moved around Northern California, I've been able to continue classes with Georgeanne. I've…read moretaken 4 dogs through her class starting at Santa Clara Dog Training Club. Georgeanne was one of my first instructors, and waaaay back then, many of the instructors were still using force training like pushing dogs into downs and sits. I can get any 8 week old puppy into a sit in 2 seconds so on earth would you ever need to push an adult dog into a down? Georgeanne was before her time, using praise and allowed her students to bring treats to reward the dogs-but, she's not a cookie pusher trainer. I learned a lot from Georgeanne and was able to show my dog in obedience which in a million years I never thought I would, or could because my dog didn't like being close to other dogs. After her classes, my dog learned to ignore other dogs and pay attention to me 100% of the time. A lot of trainers are set in their ways, and if you don't do it their way, then they don't like you as a student. I've quit many classes because of that. Georgeanne is different. She's sweet, patient, and never judges you. She'll also be honest with you. My last dog was pretty wild, and wasn't ready to go off leash for heeling. Georgeanne will tell you when is the right time for your dog to go off leash heeling and recalls. Nothing worse than having a loose dog disrupting the entire class. Georgeanne is talented trainer and also a good people person.

We highly recommend Georganne . While my training experience was some time ago, it has proven to…read morebe the best decision I made concerning our Dobie. It is truly a pleasure to have a dog so well behaved. Her expertise not only as a trainer but judge has been most valuable . He earned a CGC and TDI CERT.

We started going to Mother Lode in 2003 up to last year. Some time back one of our four dogs…read morestarted limping in the right rear leg. I went there and the vet took him in for an X-ray and came back out to tell me he had a torn meniscus and booked a surgery date for $4,500. The next day he quit limping. I got two other vet's opinion (Dr. Strolle and Dr. Barker) and that was a torn meniscus does not show on an X-ray. I then Googled and found the same thing: one cannot see a meniscus tear on a standard X-ray. Because the meniscus is made of soft tissue and cartilage, it does not absorb X-ray beams like bone does, leaving it invisible on the film. I called and canceled the fraudulent surgery. One of our dogs had a problem with his ear and they wanted $1,000 to sedate him. Had it done for $500 elsewhere and they checked both ears. Then one needed to have a tooth pulled. Mother Lode wanted $2,200 and we got it done elsewhere for $500 including a teeth cleaning. Some of the people there are rude and they do not respond to emails as I wanted to express my concerns to an owner. Since Dr. Tim and Erin left and he sold the business to Vetcor, it has gone way downhill. Incidentally, some years back Dr. Tim amputated the right front leg of our Doberman for $900 - Loomis wanted $2,000. It seems many vets are charging exorbitant fees and many pay it as there's no other options except to shop around as we did. No wonder there are so many dogs in shelters - people cannot afford dogs anymore.
