Chris did a great job of getting to know my wife and I before our ceremony date. He met with us to discuss what we wanted and to get a feel for our personality as a couple. We were a bit apprehensive before meeting him because neither my wife or I are very comfortable in front of a camera, but he really put us at ease, making us feel confident that we wouldn't feel overly pressured or "directed" working with him. Chris was very accommodating to work with, agreeing to a few different last-minute schedule changes when we decided we needed more time for pre-ceremony pictures. With only 90 minutes before our ceremony, he worked very fast to take a bunch of creative photos in different locations we'd chosen around town, getting us to the "church" with plenty of time to spare. He was also great at finding unique angles from which to photograph the ceremony (stealthily creeping around so we never even noticed him), dealing with our disorganized families to get group shots of everyone before the reception started, and capturing all the guests and big moments during the reception itself. The biggest thing I can say is that Chris listened to what my wife and I wanted and delivered! This is a strong contrast to our engagement session with a different (more expensive) photographer, which was overly staged and harried and resulted in "nice" pictures that nevertheless don't feel like "us." We are a laid back couple and had a very low-key wedding (no wedding party, few traditional elements), and Chris did an excellent job adapting to our personalities. In reference to the very negative review posted earlier, I can only say that we experienced no communication issues with Chris or his wife. Our photos were delivered to us more or less in the timeframe promised, and I appreciate that he gives you an entire disc of pictures rather than just a selected few.

My kids were sick most of the winter, it did not snow until it was February and WAY to cold to be outside for pictures so I did not even try to make an appointment until spring. When I did I had to work around my kids' sports schedules, their time with their dad and of course the photographer's schedule as well. We settled on a date that was outside the window but he graciously extended it. Fast forward 4 weeks, it was raining and has been raining for several days. We had to reschedule, again given our busy schedules we finally set a date about 5 weeks out. The morning of the photo shoot, it was overcast and looked like it was going to rain even though the forecast said nothing about rain but I waited and waited and just as it was time for the shoot the skies cleared up and the sun came out. Our photo shoot was at 6, so I was tired from a long day of work and the kids school but Christopher was great. He was able to get a ton of amazing shots. The photos took a little longer than expected to be received but after reviewing them they were well worth the wait. THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!

I've never worked with a better photographer and hope to use him again in the future. This backfired on me badly. This is my first time getting married, how am I suppose to know what to say besides answering the questions you ask me?? There was no list to given to me to choose from different ideas on what other couples normally do. Todd really had a strong personality which some of my bridesmaids and family members could not handle. He should be aware when making jokes how to read people's reactions. There were so many photos missing of people and awkward photos that were put into our online album, for example: -my moms hair piece (she was very upset about this) -very limited pictures of the men getting ready compared to mine -about 60+ photos of my face that were close up (unnecessary) -Reception: only 17 out of 130 guests photographed!! So upset about this. -Dancing: only 45 pictures of people (which a lot of people were in multiple photos/repeat shots). Todd was there for at least an hour of dancing, I am not sure how it's possible to get that few. -Cocktail hour: only 57 photos with 16 of people -Ceremony: only 4-5 guests were photographed -Band: we had an awesome band and there were hardly any photos of the band as a whole -No picture of all of us at the head table Overall the outdoor pictures of Rob and I with family members turned out beautiful. However, I am very sad that more of our guests did not make it into the pictures. As you can see from the stats there were probably only 20-30 different people photographed. Very disappointed. What did we get from all of this? A "it was in your contract" and a photo album. Not pleased with this company.

We have one picture from the wedding that may be the best photo from a wedding that I have ever seen. It was a spontaneous shot. Apparently, Carlos found an elevated location from which to shoot a phot of the bride and groom dancing -- her skirt flowing around her and perfectly framing the couple. Dazzling. While Carlos is exceptional in capturing the traditional family and bridal party photos, Carlos is even better at The sign a happy client is whether that client seeks you out again. When my younger daughter was engaged, we immediately thought of Carlos. Our second daughter was married at Café Brauer and Carlos was her photographer. Once again, the results were stunning. This was the first time that we visited the Elmhurst Art Museum.  Our daughter was invited to…read morepreview the exhibition "Picasso: Fifty Years Later" before it opened to the public, Hubby and I were her guests.  The exhibition focuses more on the influence of Picasso fifty years after his death.  So, other than some nice prints from Picasso, there was artwork from his colleagues and contemporary artists as well.  Interestingly, some of the work from other artists might appear to be even more "Picassoesque" than Picasso's work in this exhibit.  All in all, it was a good show and professionally done.   We met the Executive Director John McKinnon as soon as we entered the museum, who was very friendly and professional, and enthusiastically gave us a brief introduction of the exhibition.  John was also the co-curator of the show.  Katie, the publicist of the museum, was also very friendly and welcoming.  She talked about how proud the artists must have been to be able to have artwork exhibited alongside Picasso's art, and that the Director John even improved the air system in order to meet the requirements of the lenders of the Picasso collection!  I like that both John and Katie are very passionate, enthusiastic, and professional about what they do!   The museum itself is rather small.  It's very clean with professional setup.  It would have been nice if the rest of the museum was opened to explore when we visited on the preview day.  However, nothing was opened except for the Picasso exhibit, even the small gift shop was closed.  There is a sculpture named Skycube in the museum courtyard that is worth visiting.  It is a great spot to take interesting selfie.  All in all, Elmhurst Art Museum provides a good opportunity for art museum-goers in the suburbs to visit without driving all the way to the city, and you don't need to worry about parking, as it provides ample free parking as well!
