The wait staff truly tried their best, but when the kitchen is disorganized and run by guys who truly seem to not give a damn, the wait staff, and ultimately the patrons suffer. The caprice of the evening was when I suggested to the kitchen that they cover to post tips their wait staff are losing due to their inability to get an order out in under 45 minutes. Their response was "Get the f"*k out of here loser". Was I over the top? Perhaps, but the kitchen and management should be aware that if you are going to populate a terrace with more seats than the kitchen can competently service, there will be a problem. At 900 degrees a pizza cooks in about 2 minutes. Getting a pizza from order to table should not take 45 minutes. And to be served a pizza with an overly charred and bitter crust is unacceptable. I truly feel for the wait staff. They are being undermined by the back end operation. AITA?

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? The food presentation was excellent and a few substitutions were allowed, which we appreciated very much. Pizzas are great, but maybe a little thin in the middle, weighed down by so many toppings. Nice selection of wines, with something to please everyone. We went with an Aligoté at $60 / bottle. Service was very, very attentive... perhaps overly attentive, with 3 different people checking on us, breaking up the conversation and whisking plates away that weren't entirely finished. We had to ask the servers to stop refilling our wine glasses, gave us a feeling of being rushed. And I know this is a personal pet peeve of mine, but servers please, can we stop asking diners " are we still working on this? " This question really ticks me off and makes me feel like a horse at a trough. I'm not at work, I'm trying to enjoy the meal you prepared for me at my own pace. Lastly, one of us did not enjoy the calamari... wondered if it was frozen as it had a fishy, not-fresh taste.
