In the past I used another local storage facility that was close to the Pequest river and whenever it got flooded so did some of the units and the manager was hardly even around if you needed something. The fees here are reasonable and compared to others in the county it is by far better. Being a new business owner myself I needed a facility that I could access whenever I need it, being in the car & residential tinting business and there are cameras throughout. Surrounded by residential homes and corn fields it's a very safe location.

Here's the story: My husband and I were in need of storage so I thought I'd try this place since my parents had a good experience there. Spoke with some manager George on the phone and he was pleasant. Offered to waive a move-in one time charge, offer a decent rate (IMO), etc. So I brought my husband there this past weekend to check out the facility. When we arrived, George wasn't there but some other guy was - an older man, completely unfriendly, and grouchy. Seemed annoyed that we showed up, ya know? Like it was a chore to help us out. Immediately that frustrated me and my husband. My husband left the building to start googling other places in the area to see if they could offer a better rate. Turns out EVERYWHERE else does. So I walked back inside to let this man know and to see if he could offer a better rate. He basically said, no, not my problem, can't help you, goodbye, ohhh and if you don't take it I'm pretty sure I'll have it rented this afternoon by someone else anyway. SO RUDE. We went north 10 minutes up to Cube Storage in Whippany, were offered LOWER rates, amazing customer service (ask for Manager Peggy, she's awesome!), and a really pleasant experience.

They were very helpful and even though the prices almost gave me a heart attack, lol, the managers up there were very sincere and honest. I needed a storage unit for a few months for some garage kept items, like a snowblower, a pair of…read moretires, a few empty coolers etc. I got a mailer at home with all the wonderful features included: a reasonable monthly fee, no long term contract, video surveillance, free move-in truck, month to month. The place is spotless and new. Front desk personal were helpful, gave me the tour and quoted me a monthly price. As I'm about to sign, they tell me that my first payment is due now and its about 3 times the monthly price. SCREECH to a halt. Pro-rated rest of this month, second month, service fee. What about the free-month? That's the third month. What? Where does it say that? Nowhere exactly, but that's included deep in the "some restrictions may apply" language around page 17 on the the little credit card pad. I say, "Never Mind". They say, "What?" Yup, cancel it. Call it off. They offer to give me second month free. I repeat, they offer it. I agree, so now we're down to pro-rated one month and next month free, plus service fee. I put my stuff on a cart, take it up the elevator, load. Low and behold, I get an e-mail survey and respond that I think their "one month free" deal is deceptive. I get a personal call from a director level person who advises me that I'm not welcome. After my "free month", come get your stuff. I call to come get my stuff and they inform me that access by drive-in is limited to certain hours on Saturday and that elevator is not useable. (This is a brand new facility) They don't actually say this, they say something like, "Foot Traffic Only", which I asked them to clarify. So, I said, I have to bring my snowblower down three flights of stairs? They got mad when I said I'd put it on one of their carts and push it down the three flights unattended. It will be much easier to roll the tires down. I hung up on them. Going to get my stuff a week early. I can safely say that their biggest selling point is "We won't raise your prices every 3 months like Public Storage". PS: I wonder how many patrons fell down on their super slick drive-in coating. Maybe that's what they're repairing. I don't know.

Did I mention I pad over $13,000 in storage fees which they wont refund..They say its "not their concern". I read its about $30,000 to replace everything in a 2 bedroom. So Im out $30,000 Plus the $13,000 I paid. Did they mention yr contents can not be over $5000 no matter the size of your unit? You literally take your life in your hands when you go there. Don't be there in your unit when it gives. Remember the pinto? Its like that. Just crunch the numbers.
