This tour was THE BEST CITY tour we have ever done. Our guide Jeremy was on point form start to finish. The pace of the tour was perfect. One small hill at the start of the tour and the rest was flat easy riding. There were plenty of stops which gave native Jeremy an opportunity to enlighten us about the history of Vancouver. The time in Stanley Park was awesome. The topems, the rainforest, the beaches and going under the Lion's gate bridge were great sights to see. I recently took the Murals Off Main street tour with my friend. It was just us two and Jeremy. Jeremy gave us great information and as an art teacher, I loved seeing artwork for the people and even some were made with the help of locals. That's what art is all about in my book, bringing people together, or expanding our ideas. Jeremy kept a good pace and checked in every now and again, to see if all was well. He treated us to delicious donuts, and gave us the option of extending our ride, since it was just the two of us riding. My friend and I really enjoyed our time. I would highly recommend taking any tour with Vancouver Bike Tours. But, especially the Murals Off Main Street, if you are an art/street art fan! (I had been interested in taking a bike tour when I travel, for a while, but I was always a bit nervous about safety, etc. No worries here and I felt confident riding on the street! Fantastic! Really easy flat bike ride. Anyone can manage this!! Jeremy is sweet and patient and knowledgeable! He's normal and approachable - not at all cheesy. Even if he's given these tours a million times you'd never know because he says it with a freshness. (You know how some tour guides seem to be reading off of a 'script' ... he kept it interesting and fresh!!!) Great tour - it exceeded my expectations. There were 5 of us in our group, all over 65, and we had a blast with Jeremy. He is very safety conscious and took pains to tell us of all that was coming up in advance so we would not be surprised by a turn or lane change. Vancouver is very bike friendly, with many well marked bike lanes and protected from the car traffic. We took the morning Stanley Park tour and loved it so much we came back for the Creekside tour the next afternoon. What a wonderful way to see the city. Jeremy told us so many facts and stories that we would never have known just walking or biking around on our own. That just made our stay so enjoyable. Jeremy is awesome! Jeremy was a delightfully patient, conscientious and fun guide! As a third generation Vancouver citizen, he is knowledgeable (including interesting trivia) and provides a refreshing viewpoint. Jeremy took us places and showed us things that only a third generation resident could. He looked after us and took excellent care of us. We were a little concerned because we are not young people, and not particularly experienced bicyclists. The best part of this tour is that it is easy peasy, and there are lots of stops. This review is a bit late, but the bike tour I took was fantastic! Jeremy tailored it to my interests. He was happy to answer all of my questions (which there were a lot of!) I'm not in the best, nor am I in the worst physical shape, but when a part at the beginning was difficult for me and I couldn't pedal an further, he gladly walked the 50 or so feet until we reached the top of the hill/incline. He also provided a tasty non-GMO fig bar as a small snack during the ride... I happened to buy a box from the store later.. Anyways, all in all, I'd suggest this bike tour of Vancouver for those who want to see various city landmarks from a Vancouver native. We (family of 6 adults ranging in age from 62 to 25, first time in Vancouver) took the 5 hour tour on Monday afternoon after arriving on Saturday evening. We'd read that the city is bike friendly, and hoped to get an overview of the city to help inform our one week vacation: neighborhoods, attractions, etc. We visited the Granville Public Market on Monday morning, grabbed lunch there, and walked to English Bay Bike Shop (about 20 minutes) to meet Jeremy, get fitted for our bikes & start the tour. Two other women were in our group, which made for a nice size. The most challenging biking was at the very start, when we rode uphill for a few blocks - not terribly difficult, but enough to get us breathing hard (I'm one of the 62 year olds - my wife and I bike 10 miles very other weekend or so). Bikes were in excellent condition. The tour was everything we'd hoped for and so much more. We went through most of the neighborhoods, and saw sites we never would have otherwise seen (a carved tree trunk which isn't mentioned on any tour guide (Jeremy said he just found out about it recently, and he's a local) the homes and gardens in Moletown, and an ice cream shop with over 200 flavors). We toured from Stanley Park to Chinatown, and from Vancouver Harbor to False Creek and English Bay - easy biking all the way. It was a terrific way to see, and get oriented to, the city. The tour actually lasted over 6 hours, which was fine with us (although our sons were complaining of sore butts by the end). Jeremy was fun to be with (even laughing at my puns), asked for comments and suggestions as the tour progressed, and modified it accordingly (eg, we'd all been to Granville Island, so he cut that out and added the ice cream shop stop). At the end we asked Jeremy for eating & drinking suggestions - one great one is Craft, in the Olympic Village: over 100 beers on tap, happy hour from 3-6 pm ($5 pints, and on Wednesday wings are $7 per pound), and very good dinners. And to top it off, without us asking, Jeremy emailed suggestions for rainy day activities 2 days after our tour (when, believe it or not, it was raining). A great tour by a great guide! We went on a guided tour this morning with Jeremy to Stanley Park, and it was a wonderful experience. Even though my husband and I were obviously not youngsters, he was really good at not assuming our fitness level and instead letting us set the pace. But what really sets him apart from other guides is his knowledge level and enthusiasm for the area. I had a great bike tour of the Murals Off Main Street today with Jeremy. This is apparently a new tour this year and is a great chance to view many of the 100+ murals that now adorn Vancouver. The tour concentrates on the Main Street area and involves a lot of alleys, areas that I would never see when travelling in a car down Main Street or even walking around the area. Jeremy is very knowledgeable about the various styles of murals, their histories and stories, the individual artists and their histories, and the mechanics (funding, materials, organization, and so on) of the mural festival itself as well as other public art that we passed along the tour route. He is an engaging conversationalist and the pace was well judged. There are a couple of options towards the end of the tour, depending on one's interests. In this case, after the Main Street murals we looked at some of the murals in Strathcona and then some in the DTES. All in all, an afternoon very well spent and very revealing even to a native Vancouverite. Excellent value, highly recommended. read more
