I knew the bike i wanted to rent Honda CBR650f. Walked in 9:15am. Super friendly staff got the bike out, and got forms filled out in like 10minutes. Out the door by 9:30 am. CBR650F was in great condition. No mechanical issues and i rode it up to Whistler,BC. I returned the bike before 5:45pm which is their latest time to return. Go the bike checked off with no problems. no hassle. I would definitely come back in the future to this business when i visit Vancouver again. :) read more

This was good coming back, as usual! They were somewhat busy one weekend afternoon so I patiently waited a bit. One thing I was hesitant about was my different debit card from VISA (used here previously) to MC (used in Victoria). In Victoria it didn't work*... I was so bummed!... yet they told me that they used the same card machine as Vancouver... *That may have been due to no bank travel notification in Victoria---but it worked for everything else thereafter. I'm confused... =o (I tried this once in Singapore, my card didn't work and then the account freeze commenced... not here!?). Anyway, it worked out and I'm happy, once again, for more cruising on the town. Staff appeared composed and cool. The guy helping me with the BMW had the skillz to pull 'er out of the tight space. I cannot overstate how nice these guys were. My family flew into Vancouver a couple of days before our cruise set sail for Alaska. My whole family rides, and we wanted to rent motorcycles to go up into the mountains. The problem is, my younger brother was only 21, and no one wants to rent anything to anyone under 25. But the guys here understood that he would be with us the whole time, under adult supervision. He wasn't going to go street racing and crash their bike. They were understanding and trusted us. How often can you say that about a rental company? We ended up doing everything we wanted to with 1 day only, and they even gave us credit for the second day we didn't use. They had a nice selection of bikes to choose from, and had suggestions for us on our road trip that day. Couldn't ask for nicer people or better service. read more

They have a good selection of motorcycles, that are well maintained. It was fairly easy to find, and they also rent all the extra equipment you might need (helmets, jackets, gloves). They were very helpful on finding something to do. They told us where is fun, and how to get there. Of course, the fact that they let me rent when I was only 21 was awesome too. Since I'm just now getting around to Yelping, I have a bundle of places I need to tell the world about, and Cycle BC is one of them :o) I renting a scooter for myself and for my girlfriend about a year ago from them. I picked up mine and zipped around town all day on it and then brought her by the next morning and we acted like tourists all day long. They seem to have plenty of bikes on hand, so I didn't even need to call ahead to book my reservation. I would say, if you have a few extra bucks lying around and want to really enjoy a pretty day in Vancouver to it's fullest potential, make a list of spots to hit up and then route out a map and go baby go!!! It's so convenient being able to zip around here on these scooters and since the city doesn't really have any major highways, you are fairly safe riding the scooters here. Plusses are the following - These things barely even sip gas, so you can ride all day on the cheap. They have a ton of bikes, so you can wake up, see that it's a nice day and go grab one. They have a little storage space on them that locks so you can buy about one sack of groceries and be good to drive. You can re-realize just how bad ass Vancouver is!!! They were also super mellow with the return.. I wheeled it in, they checked it super fast and I was on my way. Gonna use them again this summer when my pals from Colorado come to visit. read more

A huge selection of bikes and friendly staff. We rented a bike for a quick get away. Unfortunately the person that had our bike did not return it on time. We were in a time crunch because a road being closed for a race. The staff juggled some things around and got us on our way, but not on the bike we originally wanted. We made past the road being closed by 5 minutes. Our original plan was to leave within 10 minutes of them opening the shop. We didn't leave for about 45 minutes to an hour. A friend of ours recommended renting scooters for our group of 8 just because it was something to do before summer ended. I'm really glad we did! The guys who run this location are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is free parking on the nearby streets and not difficult to find. We chose double and single scooters, both of which had storage under the seat (so you should pack a lunch/picnic). I recommend that you wear long pants and bring a hoodie or jacket since it gets breezy and quite cold in Stanley Park. We had a doubles scooter tha was yellow (had an extra area for a cupholder which if convenient to hold a water bottle or cell). This is a great way to spend a few hours zipping around the city (we headed to Stanley Park for lunch, Kitsilano and back to the rental store) and stopping off to see the sights. Parking is for convenient for scooters--so take advantage! Their rental prices are reasonable and is great for a weekend afternoon. They have discounted prices for certain days and hours, so check them out! read more

This is my 2nd time renting scooters at Cycle BC and each time, the service is awesome. The first time was February of this year with my friends visiting from California and the 2nd time was today with my husband. The first time, Mike and Ander/s(?) helped us with everything. Mike explained the policies and procedures and kindly let us have extra mins to our scooter ride because we took a bit of time learning the ropes first. We all had a great time riding around downtown Vancouver eventhough it was Winter season and we were all dressed like snowboarders. Just FYI, they close early during the winter time so if you ever decide to go, go in the morning. And for my 2nd time, which was today, we used our Groupon voucher. Mike was again there at the counter, we told him we were going to use the voucher and he signed us up as quickly as he could, considering it was a bit busy because it's a weekend. Tiger was the one who helped us get settled in our scooters. I had a bit of a problem with mine when my husband and I got to Stanley Park. My scooter wouldn't start so I had to call them. Thankfully, Tiger guided me on jumpstarting the engine and was really apologetic about the problem. Aside from a few engine start problems (4x), it wasn't really an issue for me. My husband and I had a great time! If you want to tour Vancouver in a really fun way, make sure you stop by Cycle BC Rentals and rent their scooters. It's super affordable, the guys are so helpful and nice, and you'll have tons of fun. I'm excited to bring more of my friends and family on a scooter ride around downtown Vancouver again! read more

Bought a social shopper voucher for this place (my boyfriend and our couple friends convinced me it would be fun) even though I have a fear of scooters and finally got to use it this past weekend. They don't take reservations or prebookings it's on a first come first serve basis. I called ahead of time just to ask how busy they were to get an idea if it was realistic for us to even come down and try to get our rides in - the guy on the phone was great he told me they had a busy morning but still had scooters left to rent. The location is in a good spot, not super busy in terms of traffic and there is free parking along Quebec Street, or a pay parking lot across the street. From beginning to end they provided us with awesome service, unlike other groupon/social shopper vendors that sometimes give you the impression that they don't value your business because you're not paying regular price. These guys were well organized especially considering there was a larger group there trying to figure out their rentals as well. Their vehicles are in good shape, I could see that they had a little garage area in the back where they fix up or maintain their bikes/scooters/other rental vehicles. Once we signed all the paperwork and he explained all the legalities to us we moved outside to get assigned bikes and to go over controls. There are tons of helmets availalbe from sizes xs-L and they look relatively clean. I would appreciate if they manually sterilized (either with spray or a cleaning solution) after every person's ride that would definitely be more hygeinic but I guess they'd need more staff for that. They went through a thorough orientation and a test drive down the back alley with us before we got on our way. We ended up riding around Stanley park and then back and made it with time to spare (our voucher was for 2 hours). It's so great because gas and insurance are included so you don't have to worry about all these extra fees. They won me over I may be back next summer :) read more

Best way to see such a beautiful place. We rented scooters in November, and even though it was a little chilly, we wouldn't have changed a thing. First, the service was great - fun, friendly and knowledgable. We got some great recommendations, some safety tips, and we were on our way. Couldn't imagine parking a large car downtown, but the scooter made everything super easy. We did a few laps around the beautiful Stanley park and then headed over Lions Gate Bridge and up the coast through Ambleside. The views back at the city were incredible. Fantastic service, honest people, great bikes!!! I have always thought that motorcycle businesses here in Vancouver were a bit shady. Not being a large riders community, it is hard to find honest and knowledgeable people around. Well, these guys are. Renting a motorcycle is not cheap, but it's what it takes by living in a rainy city where their business is pretty much 3 months long!! Anyways, my friend was visiting from Spain and decided to take a trip to the US for 2 weeks, only to find out he had to rush back home because of a relative's critical health issue on the next day. The guys showed their best human face and they refunded the unused rental time. That's first class service. Of course, you cannot ask for this if the bike could have been rented, but they were honest enough to tell my friend that they didn't turn down any other booking for that bike anyways. Chapeau. I was impressed when I heard the story and thought they deserved a good write-up. I will definitely refer them to anyone who may be interested in renting a bike in Vancouver. read more

In my opinion, the best way to see Vancouver is by bicycle, and these guys can make that happen. We rented two bikes for 4 days, for way less than what it costs at other places. And the bikes were in great condition too! Not some rusty pieces of junk with brakes that squeal that other bike shops rent out for 3x as much. The best part was the rack on the back of the bike. With some bungee cords that the shop provided (and a little finesse) we managed to haul our luggage with the bikes to the place we were staying. They stored our luggage for us in the morning until our place was ready for check-in in the afternoon. The employees were friendly for the most part. I would get there early because when we came back in the afternoon there were no bikes left. read more

Checked out Cycle BC at their Waterfront location today. It is a bit difficult to find - it is between the convention centre and the floatplane terminal. Once we found it though we had a great experience. You just need a Class 7 or Class 5 license to rent their scooters. It is $16/hour for a rental. If you have never been on a scooter before their staff provides you with a great tutorial and is sure you are comfortable before you set out on the road. I was with a few friends so we took our scooters through downtown, Stanley Park, Chinatown and Gastown. We had such a fun time cruising around in them. We were visiting from Austin, Texas and wanted an easy way to see the city and Stanley Park. We found Cycle BC by the water and Canada Place. 50 cc scooters rent for $16 an hour and scooters that seat two (barely!) rent for $19 an hour. They also offer cheaper by the hour daily rates, as well as electric bikes and larger motorcycles. The staff is friendly and the process is hassle-free. Wish we had been smart enough to do this on our first, rather than last, day visiting. We covered more ground and saw lots of shops and restaurants that we didn't see on our lengthy walks. Oh well, next time, Vancouver! P.s. The only thing that could make it better is if Cycle BC rented Dreamslides (awesome seatless bikes out of France). Hint, hint staff! :) read more

Amazing customer service!!! Myself and two friends visited Vancouver for a wedding and decided to rent some bikes to explore Stanley park. I found this rental shop through yelp and saw the great reviews so we decided to give this rental place a shot. I don't normally write reviews but this place deserves some recognition. The quality of the bikes, friendliness of the staff, and the very responsive management exceeded all expectations. They provided us with maps, helmets, and even a tire pump. I wish I could visit bike shops like this in NYC. It is very hard to find a gem like this. read more

We rented a pair of bikes at 11 am, brought them back at 5. I think the price was around $50 for everything. They provided really good quality townie-style bikes (I've rented some really dodgy bikes before and that was not the case here) as well as all the locks and helmets and a handy pocket-sized foldable bike map. This was definitely a highlight of our trip since cycling is a fantastic way to see this city. The location is a bit south of downtown: it worked for us but it may be a bit of a trek for someone staying in the city center. However, I would definitely return here regardless of neighborhood. We rented a double scooter for the day, got the paperwork done in no time, and the lady working there was super helpful and friendly and gave my friend a quick training on how to drive. She ran next to his scooter and gave him tips and helped us figure out where to go on the map. It was an excellent way to tour the city and we had a blast. Today I sadly returned my Honda CB500FA. Initially I wanted to rent a BMW bike of similar displacement, but it was already booked : / When I went to pick up the bike, I was amazed at how new and clean it was. I seriously felt that it was too new for me being a novice with most experience with larger displacement scooters and an R6. The main person I was dealing with (Dave?) assured me that given my size and weight, that it would be a very comfy ride that's very forgiving. Boy was he right! In terms of the equipment quality and condition, everything was within a few WEEKS old, and the bike only had 757kms. I was weary with renting a bike jacket and helmet that could be stinky from previous renters, but this stuff was clean and in fantastic condition (no/few scratches on helmet) Since returning it today and dealing with the team at Cycle BC, I was 98% convinced that I was going to purchase a CB500FA of my own. It's an awesome bike (check out the online reviews). After considering the costs associated with ownership and maintenance of my own bike (not to mention the initial cost of gear, license etc.) I'm hesitant to take the plunge. Considering I have had such a good experience with these guys, I'm considering renting a bike a few times a year for my riding fix. Sure you might be able to find cheaper rentals in Vancouver (I'm not sure, Cycle BC was the first place I contacted from a Google search), but your always getting new or very nearly new equipment. Whether your a local resident or a tourist I highly recommend these guys. Professional, easy going, and always willing to offer a wealth of knowledge. Happy riding!! read more

This was our first time visiting Vancouver and we couldn't have chosen a better way to see the city! Mike was incredibly helpful getting us the perfect scooter for the day and all of the necessary gear. He thoroughly reviewed all of the policies, procedures, and details of using the scooter. Anders was also super helpful and friendly! He went out of his way to give us directions and make recommendations for different activities that he thought we might enjoy. We even randomly ran into him at a coffee shop the next day and he gave us some additional ideas. Great guy! The scooter itself was reliable, easy to operate, and easily got us everywhere we wanted to see. We used it the entire day and it cost us $1.00 to fill it back up at the end of the day! Obviously I would come to Cycle BC on yelp and they would already have 5 stars. If you are renting a bike in Vancouver this is the place to go. I own a moped and wasn't even renting anything from them, but broke down one day next to Cycle BC and couldn't get my LX50 started. The battery was dead and I was pushing it along(very heavy) when I passed this place sweating and shoving my vespa. The guy who helped me out was unbelievably friendly and courteous and I feel like a jerk for forgetting his name. Anyways he helped me kickstart my bike even though there were other paying customers renting and he took the time to lend a hand when I desperately needed help. This is what defines an awesome business, great staff, friendly and helpful no matter who you are, and helping people in the community. I rode off into the sunset very happy to not have to push my vespa the rest of the way home(again so heavy). My battery was completely dead and I phoned cycle BC a few days later to ask if they could charge it for me. I talked to the same guy who helped me that dreadful day and he remembered me and said to bring the battery over to charge overnight. I offered to pay for this service but they did not charge me. They were crazy busy when I showed up to drop it off but again took the time for me. As well as helping everyone else out wonderfully and quickly from what I saw in the bit of time I was there. I returned to pick my battery up today and they had it ready to rock. So my review is not about a rental specifically but about what a great business they are which I know translates to the rental experience. The space is huge and spotless and has bikes, mopeds, scooters and big motorbikes for any rental riding needs. I will definitely be back in the future to rent some rad cruisers.
