Insurance requires a variety of steps to go through and I have chosen Columbia to work with. I tried another doctor first with no success and giving it one more shot. My brother is an anesthesiologist in Virginia and also practices pain management, and sometimes the difference in success is not just the procedure, but the doctor doing it. We are now in step 1, with Dr. Soon, and she and the staff have been wonderful. The first test shots went like a breeze and was done with care and professionalism. Time will tell and I will update this as things progress.

I could hear him all the way from the waiting room. And then afterwards, he just wanted me to come get him and leave. My brother was in so much pain. His eyes were watering and his face was red and he looked like he was gonna explode and he said I'm leaving this place and never coming back. If anyone is reading this before their appointment turned back go to another doctor. I am not exaggerating, how rude and pushy he was and demanding and dismissive.

I was sent to him by the VA due to chronic neck and back pain with x-rays and MRIs to back it up, as well as a couple of sports-related injuries, including a poorly-healed broken elbow and a complete rupture of the gluteus minimus and medius (having surgery on that in a couple of weeks). He only cared about the neck, didn't want to hear about anything else. Zero eye contact, no facial expressions, clipped and monotone. I asked a couple of questions but had to repeat myself because he ignored me. When he was done fiddling with his computer, he did have a plan; come back for some nerve blocking (or whatever it's called) which should work for 4 HOURS. Then keep a pain journal so they know if they're in the right area. So... nothing today? "No." Why not? "We need authorization from the VA. Could take days, could take weeks. Don't know." Can I get something for the pain in the meantime?? (No history of abuse or addiction, all injuries well documented.) "No. Nothing. It was nice to meet you." Then he walked out. The office staff were nice, but you couldn't pay me to go back to that place. From their parking lot, I reached out to the VA to find a different provider - which took about 10 minutes total. They were eager to take my statement and apologized for Oleg's behavior. Oh, and the authorization I needed to wait for? They had it the entire time. Everything he wanted to do was included in the referral that had already been approved.

Dr. Khemlani met me for my first appointment, accommodating a scheduling conflict to make sure I was seen in a timely fashion. Dr. Kehmlani went to bat for me with my insurance to ensure I got an approved prior authorization. He truly had to go the extra mile. Further, the next day I was seen for the actual procedure. I was honestly terrified. He took the time to stop and speak calmly with me, reassuring me all would be fine. He took time. He showed compassion. He was above-and-beyond professional... but more importantly, he was kind. Providers like Dr. Khemlani are FEW are FAR BETWEEN. Providers that truly express empathy and grace are a rare find any more and I'm quite lucky to have been referred to him. Even better, he has a ridiculously good sense of humor and made the rather unpleasant procedure 100% tolerable... painless one would say. I can't speak highly enough of Columbia Pain Management and Dr. Khemlani. He and his staff were all spectacular and I appreciate everyone for their great care. I can honestly say, I am looking forward to returning for my follow-up appointments. Thanks, Dr. Khemlani. You're the best!

Every time I used it I felt more energized, happier, and just overall better. My surgery recovery went fast and easy with the help of the oxygen chamber. I also noticed my skin looked better and my friends even said I looked younger. During the smoke from the wildfires it was so great to breathe clean air in the chamber and of course, with the 2020 craziness and all the overwhelming energy of a pandemic and election year, the chamber offered some great relaxation and red light therapy.

After working with Peter, my precancerous colon polyps, and my chronic gastritis and stomach polyps have undergone a dramatic healing. This was verified by my gastroenterologist in my recent gastroscope and colonoscopy. Every year for the past 10 years I have had a colonoscopy and removal of anywhere from 7- 15 colon polyps. This year, after working with Peter, I had only one! Also, my stomach lining and the stomach polyps are completely healed after working with Peter. My gastroenterologist asked me what I had done differently this year to create such a remarkable change. Working with Peter was the only thing that I did differently. The tests don't lie. I am so grateful for Peter's exceptional expertise, relentless encouragement and genuinely compassionate care.
